Serenity in the heart of a bustling city”
We were couple traveling for business & leisure trip to Sing and Regent was our last hotel before we went back home. So we were looking for a place to rest, just close enough to orchard road to do final shopping but not so close to the bustling of the shopping malls and Regent fit the bill perfectly. We were also looking for a place which is sedate & provide good service not too mention in a walking distance to the botany garden. Regent didn't fail us a bit. I stayed at the deluxe room which was spacious (33 - 36 m2) with floor to ceiling window facing the botanic garden area. It has plenty of natural light which is nice and the amenities are solid 5 stars hotel. The only need disappointing about the room are the TV channels which consist mostly of sports, news & variety of local channels from various country. Ok if you stay for short term and wont spend much time in the hotel but matters when you are staying for a bit longer time. Complimentary internet connection is available for 2 device which I find a bit restrictive for 2013 :) It should be available free of charge, period. Breakfast was as expected from a hotel in Regent class - variative, excellent quality & fresh ingredients. The coffee was good which I appreciate after a series of bad hotel-served a cup of joe. Service is efficient, could be more friendly but seems to be the same everywhere in singapore. Though one person, Ms Yanti from front desk exceed above the rest. Reading the other reviews about regent I can understand that some find it outdated in style but I was looking for understated timeless luxury and that what regent is. It is not the place for those looking for a swanky millennial hotel with silvery aluminium interior. In Regent you'll find warm old world luxury. The service I experienced was true to its heritage though a dash of sincerity & personality and less formality will do nicely.

Almost worthy of the highest marks”
Concerned about reviews suggesting a musty smell, old furnishings and disrepair, I have to mirror these comments - There was a musty smell - The ceiling was dropping - Small bathroom - But that's it! The good outweighed the issues - Staff with a never ending desire to assist. Doors opened, names remembered, plates removed within seconds; - The general charm is akin to a grandiose 80's New York hotel. When built it would have been a local icon. Today it's no less wonderful. Centred around an 'open' lift well perched on the outside for all to see, and for those inside to view the grandeur of the open space - Staying in Club avails one of breakfast in the Club or Basilico restaurant. We chose the latter for the abundance of food with a range of traditional Western fare, Asian and everything in between - Facilities include a quality gym, pool, amazing foyer, high end shops - The Regent is a good walk from the bedlam of Orchard Road which worked for us as we didn't have to contend with the associated noise and carry on - We were on the 11th (of 12 floors), in a roomy enough Club Deluxe (aside from a small bathroom with beautiful marble, bath, and lighting). The bed and bedding although hard was great. Facilities inc a business desk, entertainment system, additional seating, L'Occitane soap, shampoo, conditioner, an abundance of towels, bathroom amenities etc. - Internet included in Club but very slow. CLUB: Like most Clubs, Regent offers a luxurious area of a balcony clad three room facility, internet room, beautifully appointed toilets, food area, help yourself bar, tables, sofas, chairs, reading material and reception desk. The staff was incredible, the 5.30 to 8.00pm cocktails and food offerings great, the amount and diversity of alcohol and food substantial to the point where there’s no need to eat out at all. If not for the minor issues mentioned at the outset, Regent Singapore would achieve 5 stars. We loved it.

Grand old dame in top location”
Very pleasant stay, actually much better than expected. The nice old Regent brand has mostly disappeared but not yet in Singapore as The Four Seasons is just round the corner and having a different owner would object a name change of the Regent into Four Seasons... Anyway. First things first. The location is just wonderful. Next to Orchard road yet tucked away in a nice quieter road. The hotel is one of those huge hotels so typical to Singapore in the 80s where everything revolves around a huge inner courtyard. The touches in the public areas are quite nice and the service level is high. I'd give the property 5 stars were it not for the slightly outdated rooms and bathrooms (shower in the bathtub etc., quite old-fashioned). Apart from that all else was top notch and no complaints. Try to find a good deal for the Regent on one of the many booking sites. It's a huge hotel and there are regularly deals to be had. I wish the wonderful Regent brand was to be revived.

Great hotel and wonderful stay”
Overall had fantastic stay at Regents Singapore. Location - Only 5 mins walk from the bustling Orchard Road. Hotel - Good 5 star standard. The lobby is grandiose and was nicely decorated during the end of year period. The interior design is quite remarkable. Food - Our booking included breakfast, which was great. Many other hotels do not offer this. The food was good, with wide variety and western as well as traditional food. Staff - Very friendly, helpful and kind. Room - Perhaps the only criticism would be the room size. We had a superior room, which although elegant, we found to be rather small. The bathroom was also quite small (for a 5 star). The swimming pool is rather small too. Cleanliness - There is a daily morning and evening housekeeping service which ensures the rooms are generally always clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

my wife and i recently stayed at the regent hotel singapore. we were very impressed with the friendliness and attentive nature of the staff. we had a tariff that included breakfast and membership to the Regent Club facility. the breakfast was outstanding in the quality and variety of the foods offered. the membership to the regent club proved to be a very helpful addition to our stay. the staff running the regent club were outstanding in their helpfulness and assistance. this was so beneficial for us as we had been informed of the sudden illness of a family member back home and in our distress we required a lot of assistance to confirm our return flight and obtain the essential documentation for this flight. The Regent Club staff were helpful, efficient and thoroughly professional in their assistance. we would happily return to the regent hotel singapore and would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers

Elegant hotel with nice touch”
I have quite long stay ( around 5 nights) and our family experiences the very comfortable stay at Regent Singapore. We experiences an excellent room with very nice tidiness by the housekeeping, the consistency of the cleanliness and arrangement and at Xmas, they give small attention to my young kids by giving X mas cookies. Strongly recommend for family or business to stay despite its location quite far in the corner from the orchard road but really worth the money compare to other local hotel which pay similar prices but bad services.

Great Location & Nice & Warm Staffs”
welcomed by helpful bell boys, receptionist that was quick, kind and helpful. great location with easy access to orchard road. free parking, many parking space available and car park is bright enough for safety! concierge was helpful even the cleaners were very good in remake up the rooms and refills. most important - free wifi, no many luxury hotel in orchard road provide this service. no complains at all for the regent singapore and we will be staying at the same hotel again on our next trip to singapore.

helpful and caring staff, good location”
I stayed five days at The Regent Singapore. The hotel was very nice with helpful and caring staff. Our room was clean, nice smell and quiet. The breakfast was good. It took me only 10 minutes to walk to Takashimaya shopping centre. Taxi fare from the hotel to the Singapore Zoo, Bird park or Sentosa is quite reasonable. My son loved the hotel very much. He did not want to go back to Viet Nam. It has been almost a week since we went back to our country, but my son keeps asking me to come back to the hotel. I will stay at the Regent Singapore again if we revisit Singapore.

I've always had a great and comfortable experience”
I have always enjoyed my many stays at the Regent Singapore. The hotel is great value for money, peaceful and has a great ambiance. Rooms are very comfortable and staff are friendly, curteous and helpful. The Regent has a great quite location within walking distance to Orchard road and many good restaurants and bars. I would definitely recommend a stay there for anyone who is new to Singapore or even to those who have been there but have yet to stay at the Regent.

First time Stay at Regent Four Seasons Singapore”
Previously stayed at many different Singapore Hotels but this was a first time stay at this hotel. Reception was smooth and efficient. Staff expected us and knew our names. Room was spacious, well equipped, clean and very comfortable. Room service was prompt. Fresh towels were provided without the usual practice of having to leave wet/used towels on the bathroom floor plus clean sheets were provided each day. Regency Club Staff knew guests by name and offered a wide choice for breakfast and evening drinks and canapes. We dined one evening in their Basilico Italian Restuarant. First course was a buffet selection with main course selected from an a la carte menu. Quality of food and presentation was high and Staff were very attentive. The meal plus wine cost was high but acceptably so given the quality and choice of food. The Bar proved to be an ideal place to meet our friends in Singapore, easily accessible and welcoming. Staff were attentive to the point of keeping the bar open past closing time. Check Out was easy and smooth although the Concierge had no record of the Airport Taxi ordered by the Club Receptionist. Concierge soon found a taxi to take us to the airport. We will certainly stay at the Regent Four Seasons again.

nice hotel”
Have just come back from a 5 night stay at the Regent, and having stayed in Singapore many times before we will be making this hotel our regular choice! Every single staff member that we met was absolutely delightful, from the Pool attendent who brought our 2 year old some strawberries at the pool side, to the desk clerks who made sure our check in/out was easy - everyone was amazingly attentive and a delight. The hotel itself feels like a special stay - our room was spotless, of a very good size, and the bathroom shower was particularly nice - the L'occitane toiletries were absolutely lovely. We had High Tea on the weekend of Chinese New Year, and found that it does indeed live up to what we'd read about it being the 'Best High Tea in Singapore' (again we've tried a few). Yes it's a few minutes from the MRT, but getting a cab from outside was no problem, and the walk to the MRT is only 10mins and takes in the quiet end of Orchard Road. Can't speak highly enough of our trip, will definitely be staying again.

Clean, comfortable luxury on one end of Orchard Rd”
on my first trip to singapore, i naturally wanted to do some shopping but did not want to stay on orchard road. the regent is a fantastic hotel-- seems mostly catered towards the business traveler, but as a solo leisure traveler, i found it to be lovely. the service is exceptional and the hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from ion orchard, wheelock place and all of the other megamalls on orchard road. i met up with some friends based in sg and never had to pay more than anywhere-- based on this limited knowledge, it seems like a great location in my mind at least. would recommend staying here if you have the option. i want to say too that the regent does a lovely high tea buffet on weekend afternoons, and a three-tiered platter for high tea on weekdays. less people than at long bar's high tea. i really enjoyed this!

A lovely classic hotel with excellent service ”
we stayed here for the last few days from our 2 night stay at oasia (which was business) to regent (which made for leisure), there was a great difference in the services. there was a lot of information in the room regarding spots to visit, about tourism in singapore, etc. the food was great, we got a nice suite and we had nice toiletries from l'occitane, which was lovely. the location is great, easy to get around orchard to hail a taxi. the good was also fantastic in the hotel, like basilico. and we were very impressed with the regent lounge, we held some meetings with business associates there and it was perfect for the ambience and the amenities that were available. will definitely come back for more.

THIS WAS OUR 2ND TIME TO STAY AT REGENT SINGAPORE, BOTH TIMES WE EXPERIENCED WONDERFUL SERVICE. THE HOTEL FACILITIES ARE GREAT AND THE LOCATION IS IDEAL. NOT IN THE HEAVY ORCHARD ROAD TRAFFIC BUT STILL CLOSE BY FOR SHIPPING AND OTHER ENTERTAINMENT. THE MANHATTAN BAR IS WONDERFUL. BREAKFAST TOO IS GREAT AND HAD A VARIED SELECTION. THE HEALTH CENTRE IS VERY WELL EQUIPPED. THE ROOMS AS LIGHT AND AIRY AND AMMENITIES ARE GOOD. THE STAFF WERE VERY PROMPT AND HELPFUL EVEN WHEN THE HOTEL WAS VERY FULL. WE HAD A VERY RELAXED HOLIDAY.

Best location for shopping in Singapore”
singapore is the best town we visited in asia and for exploring it and for enjoy your visit to the huge shopping malls the best location is orchard road and the regent seems for us the best location . the hotel is very well maintained and service very good, the rooms are quite small but very well equiped and clean . all in all we was very satisfied to choose this hotel for our 2 days in singapore - anyway our stay was too short and this wonderful city deserve at least one week for visit.

Friendly service and warm ambience”
We are locals and decided to take a 3 night getaway, attending a wedding dinner at the hotel on the 2nd night. We drove in on a Friday 30th Sept 2011 and checked out on Monday 3rd Oct - no problem getting complimentary parking coupons from the Concierge. Our request for a non-smoking quiet room on a higher floor was granted without fuss (1018). The room was decorated with warm colours and toiletries were "L'Occitane" products. This package came with an upgrade to the Deluxe room. We were very comfortable relaxing in the room which came with a study table and large screen TV, good supply of tea bags. A big bonus was the free internet service with came with the package. Bed was great for sleeping - nice big pillows. Its a good idea to give Housekeeping a call to make up the room when you go for breakfast. They attended to that efficiently. One thing that stood out for us at the Regent was the friendliness of the staff. A far cry from a 6 Star hotel down the road which is often cold and impersonal. So the smiles and pleasant service at The Regent truly made us very welcome. - The efficiency of the breakfast staff in clearing the plates on our table was very good. Staff Lin Chang stood out in this area - very sharp and quick. The breakfast spread served the best French Toast we have ever tasted (but it rotates with waffles & pancake on diff days - the french toast was served on Sat). Unfortunately our request for the French Toast the next day could not be met. Also the baked bacon (tad salty but tender) and honey ham was very nicely done. They served japanese rice & miso soup - but it was rather strange and didnt make sense for many of the condiments and pickles to be placed at another station near the fruits. Most of us wouldnt know there were other condiments for the rice. The Regent has managed to create a warm and welcoming ambience for us - most refreshing compared to many other hotels here. Most definitely recommend this hotel.

Returning to the Regent Again and Again”
My wife and I continue to be delighted by the service and quality of staff at the Regent, a hotel that we have been staying since the 1980s whenever we go to Singapore. Kudos to the Front Desk with particular attention to Stella for the warm welcome and attentive service. A big thank you to Andy Sutiono, Restaurant Manager, and Mauro Serrajotto, General Manager of Basilico Italian Restaurant, for their personal attention and extraordinary hospitality as well as serving superb Italian food. Reliable, Restful, Responsive---the Regent”
I've stayed at the Regent Singapore over two decades, and have always found it welcoming and comfortable. The location is slightly away from Orchard Road and still convenient for shopping and dining. Hotel amenities are excellent, including its health club, pool and afternoon tea served in the elegant lobby. The interior design gives a feeling of openness and quiet, and the hotel never seems over-crowded or bustling, which I appreciate upon arrival after a long non-stop flight from Los Angeles!

Comfortable Luxury stay”
This is my first time staying at the regent singapore. I love it. The room is in good space. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast has great variety. I think it is worth it for the price I paid for. The only drawback is the distance from the shopping area of Orchard road. It is not within walking distance, especially when you have to carry your shopping. So you do need taxi. Other than that, our overall stay is good.
