I could not have been happier with our stay at the Santa Esmeralda. I knew the place looked nice from the pictures on the website, but my expectations were surpassed upon arrival. We showed up 2 hours early for check in, and the staff was very flexible and accommodating. The bungalow was great, and gave just the right amount of privacy. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone staying in Bonito.

I would strongly recommend Meia Lua to anyone wanting to sample the best of the stunning Pantanal region, its wildlife, and traditional culture. What made my 3 nights' stay so enjoyable and memorable was not just that Mirjam and her multi-lingual team provided such a warm welcome and an extremely efficient, tailor-made package; I was also really inspired by their commitment to bringing sustainable, ethical eco-tourism to a region whose unique ecosystems and way of life remain extremely vulnerable. Furthermore, thanks to Meia Lua's skilled and knowledgeable guides, I and all of the Ranch's other guests that weekend saw a mind-boggling variety of animals and birds up close (including giant anteaters, monkeys, & armadillos on the Ranch, and a hyacinth macaw and a fleeting glimpse of a jaguar during a tour of the Estrada Parque), and had all of our questions about them expertly answered. Mirjam and her team also provided abundant and extremely sound advice on the most suitable activities for the time of year and weather, on what to wear & take with us on safari, and how to make the most of the various activities. Meals - eaten communally in the ranch's big dining room - consisted of simple but delicious local dishes made from the best-quality local produce, and provided a really pleasant opportunity to get to know fellow guests. At the same time, however, the Ranch's beautiful grounds, swimming pool, verandas and hammocks provided ample space for solitude, peace and quiet. The bedrooms and bathrooms were simply-appointed (single beds & open shelves in the bedroom)but scrupulously clean, with good air conditioning: the one extra I could really have done with was a second towel, but I'm sure that this would have been provided if I'd got round to asking! And finally, there were hardly any mosquitoes around the Ranch buildings (though plenty once you get down to the swampy areas, so take plenty of repellent). We stayed at Pousada Calliandra in a room for 3 adults during 4 nights. It's not extremely good neither extremely bad. The breakfast is so so (ingredients weren't of high quality.) Luckily there was airco in the room. We did miss a pool (esp.on our 4th day.) Everything in Bonito is extremely expensive. From the hotels to the restaurants to the daytrips. What bothered me the most is that the personnel wasn't welcoming at all. They didn't speak a single word of English either (so if you don't speak Portuguese yourself, don't go there.) They did warn me in advance about it so that wasn't an unexpected factor. It's just that I would expect people to study a bit of English if they work in a touristic village such as Bonito.

We booked a double room with private bathroom, but we also got to enjoy the hostel atmoshphere wich was great. Jennifer was always happy to help with tips, advice, tour reservstions, you name it. She really made our stay really great and smooth. The room was basic but really clean! Although not on the main street, the hostel is 1 or 2 blocks away from the bus station, which in my opinion is better than the main street. Supermarket also close by. I totally recomend this hostel!

The Bonito Experience is a very nice luttle hostel. I had a great stay there. The hosts are very friendly and speak good english. They try to make your stay as agreable as possible. The room was very clean, simple, but nice. There are hammocks to chill and a nice pool. The hosts also organise tours and transport, so you don't have to care about this. I would defenitely come back and strongly recomend the hostel

We were very happy with our stay: the staff were so helpful and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. The only disappointment was one of the staff offered to wash our clothes as we were looking for laundry. We initially agreed on an amount for the service, she then later on asked for more money when she started washing. Due to the rain, she returned the clothes half dried so we had to hang the clothes in our room and we later found out that two of our clothes were stained from the wash. Perhaps next time do not offer the service.

Although, I don't know all the other hotels in Campo Grande, we were very happy to find the Hotel Bellagio! The building is very new and safe. The staff is so frendly, that he gave us his night snack (apple), because all food options were closed by the time of our arrival. Also the room was very clean and new. First class - european standart! we were very happy to have stayed there!
