Staff very friendly, service all time to 100%, only bad thing is parking is not so many places. If the parking was full you had to stay on the street. This is something the hotel could improve!

The hotel is right next to the railway station so was an excellent choice for us travelling to Helsinki the next day. it is also well placed for visiting Joensuu town itself. We thought the restaurant was expensive and there did not seem to be many eating places close by. The hotel decor seems a bit dated and it probably caters more for business and conference visitors...
hotel's breakfast is closed already 9.30 which means that holiday travellers may miss it.
Hotel Koli made me feel like home, only more pampering :) The staff's approach is a great combination of friendliness, care and casualness. The spa experience is well designed and luxurious. The little extra services of the hotel are joyful. And of course, the whole thing is set in the middle of one of the most unique and historical nature attractions in Finland.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Koli Lotus Cottages!
