my favorite Singapore budget hotel”
As an academic I am in Singapore for 2-3 days perhaps 4-5 times annually. Singapore is generally expensive, but there are three places I would think to stay as what I would call acceptable Singapore budget hotels. The RELC is probably my favorite, based upon location near the upper end of Orchard Road. The only thing I would really criticize there is the breakfast. Skip it in favor of Starbucks or McDonalds 300 meters away on Orchard Road. The facilities are limited to what I would call Asian three star standard, but you can go next door to the Shangrila if you need a nice upscale meeting place, etc. (burgers at the top-floor Shangrila Blu Bar are tastiest in Singapore in my opinion, if expensive). My second most favorite is the Ft Canning Lodge, a YWCA affiliate closer to the Clarke Quay and Parliament neighborhood. The breakfast is acceptable there, but the laundromat facilities are not as good as RELC. My third most favorite, a step down and which I typically only book if RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge are unavailable, are a couple of backpackers' hostels on Hong Kong Street, which have a few private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. If cost is a concern the hostel rooms are cheaper, but the trade off is that the bathroom facilities are shared (and the laundromat facilities are also below RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge). Hong Kong Street is well placed close to Boat Quay and the Parliament areas. I think there are two of the different chain hostels on Hong Kong Street, running under different names, but both have a few private rooms.

Singapore on a budget”
RELC is one of two "budget" or family hotels I use in travelling through Singapore 3-4 times a year. Singapore is an expensive place, so it may seem odd to refer to roughly U$100 a night net as "cheap," but it is for Singapore. At the top of Orchard Road, its only competition in its class is the Fort canning Lodge (YWCA). I recommend it to anyone falling into what you might call the budget family category. The Shangri-La is next door, so you can always go there for representative meeting areas, etc. should you need them. Families may appreciate especially the 10th floor laundromat. My only real criticism would be of the breakfast, for which reason I normally just get the RELC room and take breakfast on Orchard Road in a close Starbucks or McDonalds.

in Singapore with family, good for those on a budget”
I am an academic working a lot in SE Asia, so I pass through Singapore often. I usually stay at RELC, which is actually a hotel married with an English language teaching facility (RELC stands for Regional English Language Center, so you meet lots of SE Asian adolescents doing courses in the elevator). It has a laudromat, but otherwise its facilities are limited. However, it is located next door to the Shangri-La, if you need to meet someone in upscale surroundings. RELC is a budget family hotel for Singapore purposes, and Singapore is an expensive city generally. The only downside in my mind is the rather mediocre breakfast, so I always book a room only and then walk a couple hundred meters to Starbucks or McDonalds on the upper end of Orchard Road to catch breakfast there.

great family value hotel, well located too”
I stay in the RELC 3+ times a year passing through Singapore. It is a three star next to a five star (Shangri-La) just off the top of Orchard Road. Only downside is an uninspiring breakfast, so I always just rent the room without breakfast (try the Starbucks just around the corner on Orchard). If you want luxury facilities like a rooftop bar, just go to the Blue Bar at the Shangri-La next door. RELC has laundry facilities too, which is why I would tip this as family hotel also. One of the few non-dodgy value hotels in Singapore in my experience.

budget hotel for Singapore purposes”
I am an academic who has been staying off and on at RELC since the mid-1990s, since I often pass through Singapore. I regard it as something like a respectable family or budget hotel for Singapore (think 3 to 3-1/2 star business hotel), with its only real competition in that regard being the Fort Canning YWCA hotel. The breakfast is pretty marginal though (much better at Ft Canning Y Hotel), so at RELC I simply go to a Starbucks 250 meters away in the direction of Orchard Road for half the price. The Shangrila is next door, and when I have really needed full business hotel services I have gone there to use the business center, or to the Shangrila bars/cafés for meetings. So I see the RELC as embedded strategically as family/budget hotel in a neighborhood where you can go to close-by services as required without having to pay 4-5 star hotel prices. Friendly staff too, since the acronym is Regional English Language Center as training facility for Southeast Asians, so beyond families the guests are typically twenty-something Southeast Asians studying in languages classes on several floors set aside for those purposes.

Fav family budget hotel in Singapore”
I probably stay at RELC 5-6 times annually passing through Singapore for 1-3 days as an academic. It lacks common business hotel infrastructure like business centers and bars because of its character as its second function as the "Regional English Language Center," which still takes up the bottom 5-6 floors running language courses for Southeast Asians. If you want the upscale amenities just use those at the Shangri-La next door. My only complaint is that the RELC breakfast is marginal in my experience, so I always just book the room only and walk down to Starbucks on Orchard Road. Has laundry room on 10th floor, so everything I need.

Exceptional”
The RELC International Hotel is an unpretentious gem. Nothing fancy but the rooms are large by Singapore standards and the hotel is within walking distance of Orchard. The staff are friendly and helpful. Very good value for money.

nice and big room hotel”
It was my first time to Singapore and to RELC also. I'm going to singapore for my mother's general check up. She use a wheelchair but I've no found any difficulties at this hotel. The cleaning service nice and kindly help me to direct which way to orchard road by walking With a simple english he tried his best to help me. So touch. room was so big and we don't have to fold her wheelchair. room decorate very simple and minimalis style. she very interested at the balcony. We have 11th floor room so we can see swimming pool, tennis court at next apartment. balcony view makes my mother's felt calm and comfort

nice value hotel by Singapore standards”
I have been staying at the RELC since the late 1990s, since I pass through Singapore regularly going elsewhere in SE Asia. Visiting Singapore is liking going to Switzerland (an expensive Disneyland for adults). By local standards, the RELC as academic hotel (RELC=Regional English Language Center)is relatively cheap, but they were half the price until they upgraded in the early 2000s. I continue to stay there, although the competition in terms of the Fort Canning YWCA hotel is now typically 25% cheaper. I continue to like the location in terms adjacent to Orchard Road, and it is next door to the Shangri La. So if you need the upscale business facilities like a 24 hour business center and killer restarants, etc., you can go next door (I have in the past).

Great hotel ”
by far from all the hotels that I've stayed around orchard, RELC offer the best features with a reasonable price. I love how spacious the room is, so I can easily put my luggage around the room. This is my 2nd stay in the hotel, although this time around I get a smaller twin bed, my first stay I got a twin bed, but I think its more like a two double bed not a two single bed. The cons of this hotel is probably the location, it's still in orchard area. However if you walk, it is quite far. And if you choose to walk back to your hotel at late night from orchard you have to passed Orchard tower which is quite dangerous at nite, because there's a lot bar and karaoke around the area. Other than that its all a very satisfying stay.

Good budget hotel for Singapore”
RELC is one of two budget or family hotels I go to in Singapore. Good location, inexpensive for Singapore. You will not find much in the way of facilities beyond the laundromat and breakfast nook, but I would suggest doing breakfast at the Starbucks or McDonalds 200 meters away on Orchard Road. Shangri-La is next door if you want the expensive facilities like a b-center, but this is really an academic center combined with a hotel for English teachers.

good family hotel, great location”
I pass through Singapore regularly as an academic, and RELC is by far my favorite hotel. It does not have the fancy five star infrastructure, but you can walk next door to the Shangrila if need be. Families should appreciate the laundromat at RELC. My only criticism is the breakfast. You are better off just booking the room and walking 200 meters to Orchard Road to find just around the corner the Starbucks or McDonalds for an egg mcmuffin breakfast.

comfortable living”
RELC Hotel give you a big, luxury, and fresh feeling with a low prices for staying. It is really a good hotel for everyone travelling in singapore to stay. And one more important thing is , the traffic is very convinient, if you are driving , just take a few min the you can reach the orchard road and other town area.

Our trip to Singapore”
The location of RELC International is good, a short walk from Stevens Metro station, on the bus route and best of all Uber cabs. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and comfortable. One does nor see rooms of this size in Singapore at this price line. Breakfast was good although it could have been better. The only restaurant was Chinese and therefore choice was limited. The hotel permitted food delivery and therefore a convenience.

Good location with spacious rooms”
All in all I enjoyed my stay in RELC International Hotel. Evergreen Place Bangkok. The check-in process was pretty smooth and it took less than 5 minutes. The room was very spacious and it came with a small dining table and a small sofa area. It also came with 2 double beds. The toilet was also spacious and it came with a shower stall with an overhead rain shower. Toiletries were also provided. The only thing missing is a bidet or hand spray next to the toilet bowl which I think most women would appreciate. There is sufficient wardrobe space in the room. It came with a small minibar fridge and a hotpot and complimentary tea and coffee. The bed is comfortable but my only complaint is that due to the size of the room, the air-con couldn't keep the room cool enough to my liking even though I lowered the temperature to 16 degrees Celsius. Buffet breakfast is not provided though there's a small cafe on the ground floor and 2 restaurants on the lower floors. Also wi-fi is not provided in the room though I think it should since most hotels are offering it as a complimentary service. Overall my stay here was okay. Its plus point is its close proximity to Orchard Road which is the main shopping area in Singapore. You can hail a taxi and it will take you less than 5 minutes to reach Orchard Road. My stay would have been better if the air-con could cool the room better and maybe a microwave oven in the room since the room is big enough to accommodate it.

Huge Room, 15 mins to Orchard MRT on walk”
I've stayed for 7 nights during my training in Singapore. I've also bring my wife & 1 yo baby during the weekend. My parents also booked separated room. So, below is my review : Location This hotel located right beside Shangrila Hotel. 5 mins walk to the nearest bus station. 15 mins walk to Orchard MRT (every morning, I walk to Marriot hotel on foot for the training, it takes approx 15 mins). Room This is the great point for the hotel. I booked for Deluxe Room and I got a HUGE room (It is difficult to find a huge room like this in Singapore). It about 50 sqm. My baby loved crawling over the carpeted room. I got King Size Bed. They also provided double queen size bed for the twin deluxe room. You also can have microwave in the room (plus point). The bathroom is quite big with bathtub and shower. They also have connected room between king size & double queen room. Breakfast Decent breakfast with limited menu (maybe because I order via Travel Agent, I got different breakfast than others) :( Service The service is very good. At the first, I got dissapointed because they give double queen room instead of king room. It takes about 15 mins to change the card key. But the bell boy was very friendly & cheerful to make me more patient. I also enjoy the hospitality of the room service aunty on the 11th floor. She always smiled in the morning when take my laundry bag. And the most important thing, the recepsionist manager upgraded my parents room from superior to double queen size room. So, we have side by side room. We really grateful. Thank you sir! Overall, I recommended this hotel for your stay in Singapore. For a 3 star hotel, it is very worthy. Actually, this hotel is a language training center. So you can find a lot of students in this hotel. But it is not an annoyance at all.

RELC”
We stayed here with my baby and my sister and the staff are very nice, accommodating and considerate. They let us heat my baby's food in their staff pantry's microwave when we arrived and we had to book for another night so we booked at a smaller room with a lesser price but they did not let us move and just let us stay in the bigger room! The location is just walking distance from orchard road where there are lots of shops, restaurants and grocery. The rooms are spacious, clean and fairly updated in design. Overall a great experience here at RELC. Would definitely come back!:)
