Customer delight is surprising a customer by exceeding his or her expectations and thus creating a positive emotional reaction. This was my experience when I stayed at Renaissance Permas Jaya the last two days, 8 & 9th Nov 2020. I went to JB for work, but when I wanted to use my notebook, I discovered that the cable from the adapter to the wall power point was faulty, so it is not charging my notebook. This was around 9:30 pm Sunday night. I went down to reception hoping to loan a cable BUT unfortunately, Ms. Dhiviyarani and Ms. Shamini, both at the reception told me that they only have a desktop at reception. They further mentioned that they will check with administration the next morning BUT will be around 9 am only, and they took the details of my notebook. I thank them, and they too suggested that I go to a computer shop at AEON Permas Jaya. I too took their advice, rushed to AEON around 9:50 pm and it is already closed……so I have to wait for the next morning…..hoping all goes well as I need to present a proposal to my client at 10:30 am. At about 7 am, I went down to tell the reception about my case….and to my surprised they are aware. They told me that Ms, Dhiviyarani and Ms. Shamini told them about it.....i guess this is Renaissance SOP...in communication guest needs between shift which is GREAT.... Coincidently Ms. Dhivirayani was walking in to report for duty and in her hands, she was holding a cable. I cannot imagine that someone would take the trouble to bring a cable from her home to a guest/stranger at the hotel she worked.…when she passed me the cable asking me whether it would fit my notebook adapter, the feeling of appreciation for her kind deeds was beyond words...... My sincere thanks to Ms. Dhiviyarani for delighting her customers and to Renaissance Permas Jaya for the value they instilled in their staff.... Still one of the best hotel's in JB!”

This is my third visit to this hotel. I can honestly say after staying in a variety of hotels over the last 20 years in Johor Bahru, this is one of the best luxury hotels in the city. When you enter the lobby, you immediately get that feeling that this is indeed a 5 star luxury hotel. The room is well maintained (What I mean is that when you visit a new hotel here, after a couple of years the standard begins to drop due to low maintenance). But here at the Renaissance Johor Bahru to have managed to keep to the standard it was when it was first launched. The furniture, the toilet, the amenities are all up to par and what you come to expect of a five star hotel. Even the staff are professional hoteliers (the one's at reception. Over time hotels in JB will find it difficult to maintain a professional hotel staff that can converse in English, but here, based on my experience over the last two years, it has been quite good) I will say only that the minibar is not as cold as some of the other 3-4 star hotels that I have stayed in Johor Bahru and Singapore. I am not sure if it's the brand or the minibar itself, but thus far all three times that I stayed here the minibar is not cold. The buffet breakfast spread is simply great. Having eaten plenty of breakfast buffets over the years I would rate this as an above average to good in terms of the variety and the quality of spread of their buffet.

Great stay, exceed expectations”

Lovely. We came in without expectations but understood that the price of this hotel was equivalent to Thistle and KSL... We did not manage to stay in Thistle so we cannot have it compared to that. You will need your own transport to get around Johor Bahru or anywhere in Malaysia, for that matter so the fact that Hotel Renaissance was not near the bustling city centre was no issue. In fact, it was pleasantly peaceful with 2-3 other shopping centres nearby. It is near the expressway and will get you to city centre, say 15 mins. Pool was a standard size, not fanciful for those who wants kids to splash ard, but it may be a bonus for those who wants a quiet getaway. Free wifi was strong even in the room. Did not try the buffet. Rooms was huge and lovely and bed was comfy.

Probably one of best hotel in Johor Bahru”

Most of Johor Bahru hotels have a problem in maintenance. I really hope this new hotel will not be the case. Currently the hotel is so good. Very clean, quiet with kind staffs. Morning buffet is far beyond the average level of Johor Bahru hotels. Swimming pool is not big but well maintained and staffs kindly provided us mineral water and fruits. Difficult to find bad things about this hotel. Maybe only cons are 1. the parking lot floor was dusty. 2.Adult swimming pool is too deep. 3. There is no bathhub in the room. Everything else were just fine and I'm definitely willing to visit that hotel again.

An oasis of excellent food eateries and pleasant calm green surroundings”

Excellent traditional food eats in the evening. Walk out of hotel lobby and walk across the road, one will find hot-pots combined with lok lok selection. Walk further grassy patch of field, one will find a narrow lane leading to two blocks with wide variety of local food stalls serving traditional local food like satay to fusion food such as Italian and Japanese omelette rice. Permas Jaya has always been by locals by its hidden gem of delicious food, besides Johor Jaya food streets.

Unforgettably the best hotel I've stayed in”

Stayed in the hotel with my beau over the long weekend as a birthday treat and the moment we entered the hotel, eager to help staff were taking our bags and directing us to check in with the widest of smiles. Their impeccable service has topped any other hotel I have been to and has generally been the highlight of my stay. The room was large and clean. Our room overlooked the pool and every evening we had a great view of the sunset. If you can't swim, you can head to their gym which is large, spacious and well equipped. Just beside our hotel were 2 pork ribs soup stores (ba ku teh). A popular local cuisine that is really addictive. We had that for once a day, at least, during the entire period of our stay. The food was good. The service was great. Extremely value for money as well, do support this hotel chain. They have set a new standard for 5 star hotels in permas jaya.

It's the ONLY Real 5 Star in Johor Bahru city area”

Although it's not situated right smack in the city of Johor Bahru, it is still within the JB metropolitan area. It's suitable so long as your driving or being driven that is. Public transportation like trains and buses are definite no no. With that said, having stayed in JB hotels for the past 20 years, I must say that this is the first real five star hotel experience in this city. The room I stayed in is simply classy, clean, and really says five star From the facilities, such as the pool & gym to in-room dining, this is a place I am sure to return too, but I will say however that it is by far more expensive than any other city hotels in JB. I found the staff to be quite professional and friendly, is exactly what one would expect from a five star hotel in this group.

Wedding Event ”

We had our wedding at Renaissance and the entire event went like clockwork; it actually ended right on schedule! We were also especially impressed with the service levels of the serving staff throughout the dinner which is rarely seen in Johor Bahru. Despite some slight hiccups with the audio visuals (wrong music was played) and valet parking, the overall experience was great and it's happily ever after for my wife and I now =)

I love my stay”

This is my 4th time staying here. And i still choose to stay at Pool Terrace Room. I give 4.5 start for everything at Renaissance Food : Food selection at BLD are superb. Many choice. Rendang lamb & sambal kacang tip top. Pls don't change the recipe Club Lounge : Mr Faizal at Club Lounge are very kind, generous, realy alert with what all guest there need & want. Others club lounge staff at all other hotel must make his attitude in working as example if they want guest feel happy within their stay. keep it up & Renaissance management please send my regard to Mr Faizal from me room 601 staying there on Dec 23. (I always travel KL & Jb, and i will book a hotel & room which i can u use club lounge, so far Renaisaance food selection at Club Lounge is the best) Room : Room are very clean. My stay are really comfortable Amenities : TIP TOP & smell good. Not a cheap2 thing. Staff at reception : A little bit slow when check in because new staff but the senior staff try to help and make me happy. Only they forget to give me access card for club lounge, which i must go back at Lobby again to ask. Check out fast. Internet access : I am the Marriot member and i can use the internet for free, but its a little bit slow. But still can use. Pool : Its too deep for me. So sad and wondering why they pool dont have place for me. I'm only 155cm and i cannot stand at the pool. Begineer swimmer problem. But its ok, i still enjoy the pool. Location : if u exit from Toll Skudai it is just about 30 min drive. Really easy to go. Just open the waze apps. If u want to try local food either than eat at hotel, i suggest u google or waze for Senibong. Looking for their seafood there. Want to try Johor style mee bandung? Search for Mee Bandung Muar Kampung Melayu. But if u are too lazy to go out and would like to be pampered by the hotel, its also a great things to do, bcos their food all are very nyum nyum yummy. Will i stay there again ? YESSSS Cant wait

Great experience”

The hotel is not close to the city area of Johor bahru, which is about 20 minutes away by car. There are plenty of restaurant surrounding the hotel and a Jusco shopping mall 5 minutes away. The room is very comfortable with very big and cushy bed. The shower was great and I really enjoyed it. The breakfast has various varieties and I love their home-made crossaint which is baking right in the buffet area. Overall I had a very good experience here.

Reasonable price, comfort beds and nice restaurant”

First time staying at this hotel in Johor Bahru, love the beds and the comfort of the room. Dining at the chinese restaurant was good as well. Reasonable price and good quality of the food. Would definitely recommend others to try this hotel.

Still one of the best in JB city area..”

Over the last twenty years I have stayed in almost all the city hotels in Johor Bahru city and will conclude that this hotel is by far still one of the best of hotels in the city area. It is kind of pricy compared to the other hotels in JB but it does maintain that 5 star quality, a quality than only one other hotel in JB has managed to upkeep.

Our all-time fave in Johor”

This is our 4th time staying in Renaissance and we love the bayview room. It’s 15 mins ride away from JB Central but good if you want to stay away from hustle and bustle of the central area. They have the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and love the strong water pressure in the shower after a long day out. The room is super clean and spacious! You can find grocery store like family mart right behind the hotel. It has pretty much everything you need within 5-10 mins walk from the hotel, you can find late night hawker center, bubble tea shops, Korean bbq, noodles house, steamboats etc opening till very late at night. Hotel staff is very helpful and professional in our room request. We requested for 4 bottles of water on our second day since we drink plenty of water. They went beyond and gave us 8 bottles instead. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one! I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone

one of the BEST hotel in Johor”

I booked 2 rooms from 11-12 Feb. Due to unforeseen family commitments, we only managed to check-in at 12am. Check-in was a breeze and the staff allowed free late check-out at 2pm. The room is what's expected of a 5 star hotel. Clean, comfy bed and Tokyo Milk toiletries with latest hairdryer, iron, etc. You'll also get Nescafe normal and decaf 3 sticks each and Sir Thomas English and Green Tea, 2 each. Acceptable for a 1 night stay. But the highlight of our stay in Renaissance is the buffet breakfast. It differs from other hotels because of the unique spread. It's not that huge but it has cooks that are on standby, waiting to serve and cook on the spot for you such as grilled meats Mongolian style, Tepanyaki meat, seafood and veges, Mamak style roti prata, poori and dosai. For beverages, there's tea tarik or milo tarik made on the spot upon request just like when you ask for omelette (btw, the omelette is marvellous) and you can also get fresh fruit juices made upon request too. The bread section doesn't impress me though. A couple of multi-grains, croissants and sweet pastries. And sadly, they forgot my favorite donut. *sobs* Oh, for the kids, there's ice-cream with toppings such as shaved coconuts, chocolate chips, nuts, chocolate rice, etc. Parking is quite convenient and they have a 24 guard on duty. You just need to validate your ticket at the counter and the auto-machine at the lift-lobby whenever you need to leave the hotel. Swimming pool is normal. But their gym is open 24 hours. *smiles* Although the hotel looks old on the outside, but the inside is acceptable.

Great short Family Holiday Stay @ Renaissance Hotel”

This is my mother first time stay at Renaissance Hotel! She was very please delighted with the services (room allocation and arrangements, clean and tidy room, sufficient toiletries etc.) provided. She has a good rest and all facilities are in serviceable conditions! Thank you to all the staffs of the Renaissance Hotel from the front desk crews, car park security, to the chambermaids etc...

Staff makes a difference”

We have been to this hotel a number of times. We usually book the Club room because we are always very impressed with the personalized service given by Mr Faizal who is the Club Lounge Manager. We hope that the Management of Renaissance will appreciate having such an outstanding staff. He really made us feel that coming back to Renaissance is like coming home. Spacious - Luxury - Perfect Room Size - Nice Service”

i'ts too bad i only experience one night in Renaissance Hotel JB, we booked 2 rooms connecting door. The room is spacious and luxury with lots of space for our loose items, super comfortable huge beds and pillows, very fresh and clean, our rooms overlooking to the ocean in the night time can see the lights of Singapore and all cruises . Wifi run very well with auto connection. Bathroom also perfect size, only a little dim, i like brighter. Too bad we must catch our flight, so don't have time for breakfast which i believe would be great, so we order room service for quick breakfast at room.
