Great location but nore detail needed in booking description”
The location was great. The facilities of the apartment were also great and very clean. Unfortunately there are a few things not mentioned when you book and if these things where in the booking description it would have helped greatly. 1. There is a government accomodation fee per person per night that you should factor into the cost. 2. Hiring a bike from them is expensive but if you hire from another company you will have to pay to store the bike at the property. 3. There is a free shuttle that will take you to your accomodation (a great extra to have but I wouldnt have spent time researching how to get to our accomodation had I of known this). 4. The check in process takes place off site at an office near Kyoto station and everyone travelling with you MUST be present. 5. The airconditioning needs regular cleaning and to be re-gassed as it didnt work too well. These details are not a big problem but would be great to know before booking so you know what you are in for.

Thank you very much for your comment. The price of rental bike(1500JPY) is for whole stay not for a day so it would be great deal if you use it more than 2 days. It's not allowed to store the bike which you rent from the other shop in RESI STAY Higashiyama Sanjo. Please understand that we do check in process with Kyoto City Regulations so we need to ask all the guests to come to reception counter. We clean the filter of air conditioner regularly and air conditioner is run by electricity. It might take long to make the room cool enough in hot summer. We would be happy if you come back to stay with RESISTAY again in the near future.RESI STAY reception counter
Great for groups”
We were a group of 4 women and we had enough room to live comfortably. Location was great and close to everything especially Gion! We were also close to buses and subways which was a plus. We were also a 1-2km walk from shrines and temples. Also there was a free shuttle to the hotel which was awesome and unexpected! Overall very happy with our stay! No cons from our end and we’ll definitely be staying again!

Great value for the $, impeccable service”
Great service, they provided a shuttle from RESI offices to the accommodation, and I had a bicycle as well that they showed me where to park it. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent location, beautiful apartment. I left a package in the apartment safe box, and after notifying them, they promptly replied and I was able to coordinate delivery to myself to retrieve the left item. They were awesome!

reasonable price and super satisfaction”
3 adults(M), from Repulic of South Korea, 13-19,Jan,2019. located in quiet area, but near subway station-i cannot memorize the exact name-anyways, there was service which waiting us for movement to our room by limousine bus and previously, there also were many informations about using the room and so on before stating, i thought that it was contained in service in the room, many convenience things prepared something like tissues, hangers, boilings.. strongly recommend this service, and ill use it over and over again, if i go to Kyoto.

Cozy and quaint definitely recommend”
There were 4 of us and eventhough it was a little snug, the facilities made up for it. The balcony views were amazing we could find no fault with the accommodation. Anyone visiting Kyoto should check this place out. Guide was super friendly. The only (not-so bad) thing was we had to collect the keys from the office in Kyoto before heading over to the house in Sanjo. But they drove us to the place which was so helpful. Will absolutely come back to stay!

The guesthouse is located in a nice residential neighbourhood, there’s a van that took us to the guesthouse after we checked in at the counter near Kyoto Station. (Take note that the reception check in counter is different from the actual place that you’ll be staying if you book this place). Their receptionist are helpful. My husband and I stayed at the Standard room. The room is spacious for the two of us, and it’s really worth the price that we paid. There’s a washing machine that’s really convenient. There’s no dryer but you can hang your clothes at the veranda and it will dry easily. Fast internet connection. It’s near convenience stores and subway station. Walking distance from the Kamo river/Starbucks, pontocho street. when you check out, you can leave your luggage at their storage room free of charge. **the only thing i noticed is that when we entered the room there’s slightly smell of smoke (like in cigarettes). as from what i understand is that it’s a non-smoking room.

The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with many questions. There was a free shuttle bus that took you to the accommodation . The location of the accommodation was great. The city center is a 5 to 10 min walk away. The busstop and train/subway is also nearby. The neighborhood is nice and quiet. Highly recommended.

Fabulous little apartment ”
So finding the check in office was a little tricky , but once we found it everything ran smoothly. Courtesy bus to the apartment, which had everything we needed . After moving from place to place , a few days with a washing machine and balcony to dry stuff was invaluable. The location was excellent and I would absolutely stay there again next time I am in Kyoto

Good value for money”
It may be a hassle to check-in at kyoto station but mostly likely that’s where you arrive anyway and the hotel offer free shuttle bus to your accommodation. Please note the nearest Sanjo station is not covered by JR Pass. But the room is clean though small which is expected of Japan anyway. Given the space, it would have been comfortable for a couple and a bit tight for 3 guests with luggages and impossible for 4 guests with luggages. There’s a familymart and a local convenience store very close. The arrowtree store down the bridge offer excellent price for fruit & vegetable.

I joined the Kyoto Marathon last Feb.17. This property is just walking distance from the finish line and Expo. Moreover, it is a short walking distance from Sanjo Station where we alighted from our Airport Limousine Bus. Restaurants, temples & shopping is likewise nearby.

Nice big room, clean with good facilities”
Good: clean, big room with good sunshine, staff is friendly although check-in process was a bit cumbersome. Nice for them to provide one trip of ride from checkin office to location. Con: location is a bit off main tourist area, however it's more residential with nice local diners, 3 convenient stores around walkable distance

Easy walk to restaurant, train station , and buses. Close to Gion corner, Kiyomizudera temple, And Yasaka shrine. No room service provided during stay but it was no biggie as only light cleaning need to be done. Just wash your dishes and vacuum. Vacuum cleaner and washing machine are in the property. Will definitely come back

Room is specious in japan standard, very clean facilities. Good location with short walk to local metro, keihan and buses. Very reasonable cost in kyoto standard. Be in mind check in office is near kyoto station but not in site, staff friendly and they tried to assist guests in spite of the slightly cumbersome check in process.
