Resorts in Baan Grood Beach

"Great food in the village for cheap money. Skip the touristy places at the beach for food. Local market on town is great. Hotel : Staff is super friendly, place itself a little bit expensive. English is not the best but they have a great heart for guests."

"Stayed 2 weeks in one of the beautiful villas, surrounded by lawn and garden- excellent for the children to play in. Room was really beautiful too! Great location by the beach and walking distance to cafes and shops. Really good pool too, which had some space in the shadow too, great to cool down with the kids. Most of the time we were the only people there, so felt like a private pool. Pool was impeccably clean. Staff was friendly but lacking in English, which is common everywhere in Ban Krut, but that did not really pose a problem. Although one on the employees was fluent in English so we mostly communicated with her. For some reason hotel did not answer my e-mails beforehand, maybe because of the language barrier. Customers can freely use bicycles, which is a great activity in the village. Bikes are rusty and old but that even adds the charm :-) All in all, probably the most beautiful and paradise-like resort I have ever been to. "

"The hotel rooms are basic, a single bedroom with a half open roofed toilet and shower bathroom tacked onto the back of the room. We loved the fact you could shower and look at the sky, tree tops etc above, reminded us of past holidays in Africa. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable, airconditioner fine, fridge and TV but didn't turn it on. Beach walks and bobbing around the pool with a pinacolada was far more inviting then watching TV. The breakfast was a choice of cornflakes, eggs (fried or scrambled), sausages and ham, toast and jam, fruit, tea, coffee, fruit juice, all in all fine. They have a nice selection of dishes on the menu for lunch and evening as well. We dined most nights up the beach a bit, at some lovely little restaurants and a couple of flash ones as well, in Baan Grood, where it is a little busier, catering for big bus tour groups and more people. This is about 3 - 4kms up the same beach the Rachavadee sits on. We would happily stay there again, don't expect 5 star, expect peace and tranquility in spades."

"This is the second time we have stayed here and absolutely love it. We have been coming to Baan Grood for a few years now and stayed in a lot of hotels but this small hotel has the cleanest and most modern rooms of all as its been recently refurbished. It's location is perfect as its right on the beach and a 2 minute walk to seven eleven etc. The beach area at the front is nice, breakfast is good and the owners are very helpful. All in all we highly recommend it. "

"Is is not situated at Ban Krut beach as we thought. It is situated 2 kilometers north at another beach. That beach is perfect stay for people looking for quiet nice beach, with no other people. No restaurants or shops near by, so you have to rent bicycle, motor cycle or use tuktuk or taxi. Hotel staff is very friendly. Hotel is little bit older but clean. Perfect place at this price level. "

"I arrived around 9pm after the Bangkok train was delayed by a couple of hours. I had to wait a while to check in as the guy on the front desk called for the one English speaker. I wasn't aware of what we were waiting for so it was a bit disconcerting. The room was clean and comfortable. The first night was noisy until about 11 or 12pm due to karaoke blaring out from a beach cafe. It was a weekend night, though. It was quiet the rest of my stay. The check-in area/restaurant was often occupied by what I later discovered was management, but they were reluctant to move and just shouted for the other staff. On check-out, I was told to pay and couldn't explain - due to language difficulties - that I had already paid when I booked online. Eventually, the man phoned the English speaker who seemed to think that I wanted to pay by credit card! After explaining and her checking, I was able to go. The man gave me a lift back to the station free of charge which I appreciated. "
