"A typical basic rural Asian hotel. Nothing fancy, though there is a swimming pool. Located about a mile outside Mersing Centre it is on the edge of town and very quiet. A good choice if you need to spend a night in Mersing because your transport arrangements do not tie in with the ferry times to Tioman. The taxi fare to the jetty was 10 or 12 Ringgits. In town taxis can be difficult to find, certainly later in the evening. It is always worth checking the bus station as some taxis wait there. Or make sure you have a phone number for a cab. I would certainly use the hotel again if needed when travelling to Tioman."

"Great view of the sea and could hear the waves from the room. Very quiet village surroundings. It was difficult to find the place but with the guidance from the Manager it was made easy. All nearby food stalls were closed. Managed to get food from downtown. Definitely need a transport. I will stay in the hotel when I am in Mersing next time."

"We had fleas in our bed and after a week we still were scratching. Eating in the resort was cheap (which is important because you can not leave the island or buy something) and tasted great. One of the best we've had in Malaysia. The island itself is small and there is nothing to do. If you want rest, you'll find it on a beautiful beach"

"i have stayed for 3 nights in this resort, it has "kampong"/traditional malay village style bungalow. the staff are very friendly and attentive on everything we need. the food is simply awesome (we took the full board package). the beach is good, there is small fishes around, and soft sands, the only backdraw is sandflies, which bite once in a while. beach activities need to rely on next door resort (i.e. d'coconut, mirage), but i heard from few stayer, aseania is the best in the area comparing the 3 resorts. overall, we enjoyed the stay in this hotel, even my wife and daughter already asking to return. i will consider returning for my future trips."

"it's more or less a resort as commonly described. it has a good position and a great view (i think it's the best sleeping alternative in the neighborhood, compared to the mersing in-town hotels). there are several bungalows (some of them being newer) and a main building with 1 floor. unfortunately we went in a rainy period and the feeling was desolating. everything was wet and the bungalows were humid and smelly. we wanted to change our reservation for the newer ones (which were more expensive) and they asked us to pay the difference which i found very normal. but when we finally opted for a regular room on the upper floor of the main building (which was at least dry, but more cheaper) they were not happy with returning the money. at the end they offered us 2 meals instead of the price difference, which i also found to be ok as the food was good. the rooms are not in the best condition and the furniture is quite old. they are relatively clean. the staff were very friendly and helpful. from the balcony you have a great view but unfortunately you can't take a swim in the sea as the water is muddy, due to the river that is flowing nearby. i think the better option is to take the ferry from mersing to the closest islands. we didn't as it was raining all over the clock and there was no available schedule. for an alternative you have a small pool in the garden. as i think it's common for malaysia, you can drive and park the car in front of your bungalow. although the conditions were far from being the best the overall experience was very interesting as we could see a lot of wild monkeys in the trees, exotic birds flying by and a lot of lizzards from the smaller ones to a big 1.5 m one. it was a safari-like experience.
