Fantastic Hotel in a Great Location”
This was one of the top hotels in which my wife and I stayed on our honeymoon in Japan. The staff were amazing and provided us with superb service from start to finish. The hotel from the lobby to our room was immaculately clean and beautiful. The room itself was spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. Another great thing about the hotel were the six restaurants inside. We never sat down to eat at any of them, except for breakfast, but we did order room service on our first night there because we were too wiped out from site seeing and traveling to go out. The food was fantastic and we were very satisfied. Before I forget, this hotel is well placed near Kyoto station which made it easy for us to access using our JR Rail Passes. To repeat myself, this was a fantastic hotel and among the top three hotels that we stayed in on honeymoon in Japan.

Great value for money. Definitely coming back!”
The hotel was absolutely amazing! The rooms were very clean and had a nice interior. We didn’t have a view, but it didn’t matter because the room was enough. The staff were superb and in all the areas we visited (pool, restaurant, front desk), they spoke English quite well. The American breakfast was super good! The pool had an additional charge of ¥550 per head but it was totally worth it. They required reservations for the pool for safety purposes, and it made the experience much more enjoyable since there were only a few people allowed at the same time. They observed social distancing and made sure everyone was observing safety protocols. We will definitely come back and stay here the next time we’re in Kyoto.

Absolutely Wonderful”
We travelled to Tokyo in Mid-May and this was our favorite hotel experience. From the minute we walked up, we were greeted with kind smiles and the process was easy to check in. The room was clean, had wonderful light and had a tea pot for us to enjoy some green tea right away. Perfect walking distance from the train station and overall, great convenience. We highly recommend!

An excellent hotel by all standards ”
This hotel is exceptionally located, within easy walking distance from the Kyoto station if you choose not to use the free shuttle. It's also close to many of the points of interest in Kyoto. It has been completely refurbished and offers very clean confortable rooms. The staff is is efficient and very helpful. I definitely would stay there again and have no hesitation to recommend it to friends or family.

Great location and service”
The room and linen were clean. Spacious and comfortable room. Staff in reception was friendly and supportive. Location was great to go to JR Kyoto station, traditional restaurant, Toji temple and 7 eleven within walking distance. Quiet even on the 3rd floor. Onsite parking was useful. I will definitely come back here next time and recommend it to anyone who travels in Kyoto 😊

Kyoto - two night stay”
Two adults, one teen.. great room, almost felt like an apartment with the separation (via a hallway) of the main room, bathroom and separate toilet. Bathroom was amazing with a fantastic shower and huge bath. Location was good for the station (from which access to all the transport options went from) or quick taxi to Gion. Only negative (and pretty low on the priority list) was the hotel WiFi. For most (with their own) this won’t be an issue but if you are traveling and are relying on internet access bear in mind it’s patchy at best and almost non existent at worst. Overall great place and wouldn’t hesitate in booking again.

Room was spacious with excellent amenities. Staff were efficient and friendly. Shuttle bus to and from the Kyoto Station was very useful. My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this hotel very much.... Also the bed was super comfortable. Would recommend this hotel.

Great classic Japanese city hotel in super location”
Our fourth stay at the Rhiga Royal. Always a pleasure. Recently renovated we found our room in perfect condition. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient and housekeeping does an exceptional job. Old world affordable charm. We especially like the short walk to Kyoto Station full of shopping and dining options. We'll continue to enjoy our visits to Kyoto and our stays here.

Had a great stay at RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto. It was great that there was a shuttle bus for us when we got to the station but it didn't take long to realise it is literally around the corner from the station which made it easy to catch trains to visit areas of Kyoto. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was ok. The rooms were very large, clean with lovely amenities. The only disappointing thing I would have to say about this hotel is you have to pay to use the pool. We tried the teppanyaki restaurant at the hotel which was amazing (expect to pay though). We also found a fantastic teppanyaki restaurant just down the road.

Clean and central hotel”
We had a family/dbl room with 2 queen beds and it had a central lounge area, nice big bathroom with separate toilet and entrance space so very generous compared to Tokyo hotels. Although near to train line, it was not noisy as the windows are sound proofed so we had a nice view of the bullet trains, and were very close to the central station and large shopping mall. The Hotel pool and gym are clean and well managed - the kids used the pool on their own every day and enjoyed themselves - the staff were helpful. a great experience here and would recommend for any traveler.

Hotel exceeded my expectations. While not located at the station, it is a short distance away and with the hotel shuttle buses running at short intervals, location was not a problem. Hotel staff was phenomenal. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Very pleased. Third time staying there and have never been disappointed.

Located in the center of Kyoto, walking distance to the Kyoto station and the shopping district. The hotel provided free parking which is very convenient to road trip traveler. Room is spacious but you have to expect some smell for those smoking bedroom. Staffs are friendly and able to speak English fluently. Overall a pleasant stay.
