Sunset Bungalow

Not bad
We stayed in the sunset bungalow- it was cheap and the room was spacious. The man at the reception was quite strange, rude and spoke little english. Don't book anything with this place, unless you know it's a good deal. He ripped me off on the tubing. There's a nice open field there for camping or relaxing which is good l and you can watch the hot air balloons go by.

Simple accommodation in nice location
Stayed here for 3 nights on trip through SE Asia. Wooden bungalow was simply decorated, but perfectly adequate for my needs. Few facilities on site, but liked the location and the grounds, which looked onto the carste mountains not far away. Cows would wander around, the bells round their necks clanging. Could walk to restaurants in a minute or two but was glad to not be staying in the town itself as the setting of the bungalows was much nicer if you like rustic. Shared minivans to Luang Prabang and Vientiane will collect you from this hotel, as will shared taxis coming from bus station which is about 1km outside the town. Don't think I'd have liked Vang Vieng as much if I'd not stayed here, as the town itself is nothing much.

Basic Double Room with Shared Bathroom
Stayed 2 nights in November 2017
Above average
I stayed in the bungalows with the communal bathrooms. Pity about being able to hear the (really bad dance) music from the local bar from about 10am-8pm every day. Once that turned off it was a lovely setting and quiet for the town's version of quiet, especially as that it was so close to everything. Communal bathrooms weren't the greatest. I enjoyed the bungalow and was very comfortable in it.

Stay elsewhere.
High star rating must be from previous owners. Stayed in air conned unit second from top price. It was abysmal. Dirty, delapitaded, not secure, snail and spiders everywhere, black mold, holes in walls. Broken; fridge, 50% of lights, door and window locks, window fittings, sink, fly screens, shower (cold),. Power gets turned of during day. It looks near to bulldozing for new development. Location is quite and beds were not rock hard although sheets had blood on them. It stay here if no other option and only pay 50000kip or less or it's robbery! Stayed other places in town that are incredible for less money, use your feet and check them out.

Great view and very comfortable
We paid a bit extra for the sunset bungalow. It had an excellent view and was very comfortable (with a nice shower and great AC!). Would definitely stay again next time.

Great view in the morning ,fresh air and helpful staff. But should fix the toilet door
I like the room i like the view and staff. In the night was very cold and fresh air. But toilet door can not lock and hot water not work. But ok for me. I like the place.

Far away from everything and in disrepair.
It's pretty far away from the shops, restaurants and attractions, so expect a walk. There's a steep hill that is very slick in the rainy season that is basically the driveway to the bungalows. It's pretty easy to slip and fall down it if you plan on drinking. Many things simply didn't work. Our sink didn't work and neither did half of the lights. Also, the TV didn't work. Wifi is available, but the password that is posted in the room is wrong. You have to get it from the reception area. It was $14 a night and I was expecting a rustic place to stay, so I got what I was looking for. It's just disappointing when the things that are advertised don't work.
