The best hostel experience in NYC”
Yancy is the lead receptionist of both Jazz branches on Columbus Circle and Park. During my 3-week stay, she went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was safe and enjoyable. She always made sure that my linens were changed daily, accommodating me to the best of her ability. She also works the most hours out of all the staff, so, if she does not become a general manager soon, then she needs to move on to a place where she will be appreciated. From first-hand experience, Yancy is the only staff member that I see setting up breakfast and other decorations for the guests, in the common area. She also goes the extra mile to make sure every guest has their luggage stored safely, so that guests/ tourists can roam around the city without having to worry about their belongings getting stolen. I am surprised that she also manages to keep a smile on her face, after having worked multiple-double shifts (16 hours, for some consecutive days at a time). This unique work ethic and composure are rare characteristics that not many people have, and Yancy is one of some who showcase these traits—she is a very hard worker and is sometimes taken for granted. Because of her natural, mother-like instincts to willingly help others, with almost nothing in return, I have also seen Yancy go the extra mile for guests whose English is not their first language. Her ability to solve problems quickly ,and guide transcontinental guests and international tourists to a great experience, are part of the big reasons why my review is written to this extent. For a hostel that averaged at about $62 a night, my stay here has been one of the best out of all the hostels that I lived—Spain, Argentina, Colombia, Morocco, Macao, Los Angeles, etc. when you have staff that go to great lengths to ensure your safety and well-being, the positive experiences that come with your hostel stay go beyond aesthetic pleasure. Amazing location”
This was my first trip ever here and I started planning my trip to NYC kinda late, so it was amazing that I found this place so close to Times Square for the amount that I did! The 1st impression is kind of off putting, with it being a literal whole in the wall, but once you get inside, it's much more welcoming. The staff is friendly and they helped me with any issues I had. Make sure to bring your own locks as they do provide storage lockers in the rooms. Also, I could literally walk everywhere from the hostel; Central Park, Times Square, Empire State Building, you name it. And the subway/bus is everywhere so that wasn't an issue. Overall, a great experience, just awesome

Clean and great value hostel for the money”
It is located few minutes walk from Times Square, metro and Central Park. Clean, new facilities and good value for solo travellers. You need to pay 5 dollars for the towels. Some power outlets and personal lights are not located directly beside the bed. Overall, it is a great value hostel near the central area.

Great Location”
Very close to the time square area. Near the yellow or blue lines. Can be noisy in some of the rooms. You will find the accommodations as you would expect.

Excellent Location for NYC”
The hostel is on the third floor in a building near Columbus Circle. The location is perfect for Central Park, Broadway shows, and shopping. It's also the cheapest decent place in Manhattan. It doesn't have any of the facilities most hostels do, but it doesn't matter. Lots of fast food just outside if you're on a tight budget. Lobster rolls and $1 pizza are within a block. The hostel itself is unremarkable, but clean. My room had 6 beds and a clean bathroom. There are a few wood chairs in a common area, but no kitchen or area to relax. Towels are $5, so bring your own. Overall, it's excellent for the price.

I think the staff is a little overworked :( upsetting as I see them there all night long. I wish they’d hire more people. They’re great, they don’t look upset to see you and are very nice, but for having stayed their for a week, I’ve only seen 1 worker all night. Either way the accommodations are nice, coffee and tea, just bring your own creamer/milk. For the price in nyc I can’t complain as it’s a very nice building.

Best Value in Midtown”
I stayed here for a few nights on my first visit to NYC. The location is perfect and the staff (Alejandro) were very welcoming. Food and everything else you need is right downstairs. Walk to Central Park and Times Square.

The place was available at cheap price and at such a prime location. Loved the admin staff for their 24 hr help. I made some awesome friends at jazz and I am going to miss this place now.

Clean & Good Location”
It's walking distance to Central Park and Times Square. Cleaner than most low cost hotels and hostels in the area. Accommodating staff.

I watched the young woman mopping the floor -- in the daylight from the window I could see huge sections that were still dry -- she bypassed 30% of the floor! Sloppy cleaning! No soap in the soap dispenser in the restroom.
