Fine hotel for short stay albeit the general ambiance is of a tired old sixties hotel. Front desk & cleaning staff good, Restaurant was lacking in food & staff unfriendly. Couldnt find the swimming pool....

The restaurant was only open for a hardly adequate breakfast. The price is acceptable but the hotel is very ‘tired’. Needs a complete refresh.

I thought this Hotel was in a 1980s time warp decor was dull and fully carpeted not at all suitable for a warm country like Thailand this Hotel needs REFURBISHING quickly and it's prices are at the high end didn't like it at all.

old but nice”

We stayed in one of the suites. Really beautifully decorated. Could use a paint job to give it a fresh look. Bathroom with very nice but the configuration of the shower works but not ideal. For $50 it is worth it. Breakfast was good but not outstanding. We would stay again.

Classic style and very comfortable”

Classic style hotel with beautiful original wood and 1960s era fittings. Built before a shower was expected so the bath has a shower retro-fitted. Quiet and spacious rooms and a decent buffet breakfast is served. If you can appreciate the classic era style this hotel is a unique and enjoyable experience...like being in a James Bond movie!

Probably the best you can get in Maha Sarakham”

*** THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL OUT OF THE THREE TAKSILA HOTELS LISTED *** We came to Maha Sarakham to attend the wedding of two friends. The hotel was a bit old, but considering the location, it was fine. Great appointments in the room, and a nice staff - although it was difficult to communicate with them. We had friends who had rooms in the other two Taksila Hotel properties, and they were pretty bad compared to this hotel.

it is far to expensive for what it is which is quite ordinary with poor breakfast eggs tasted as if cooked the day before no freshness about the food

Classic Thai Style room”

Decoration was a bit old but in fair maintenance with classic Thai style. Didn't facilitate the pool & gym. Worth to spend more time at the next visit.

Aussies visiting for a wedding”

For the price it was ok. We have no Thai but were easily able to locate the pool and the gym. Breakfast was good as there was plenty of fruit, a toaster that worked well and happy staff who cooked eggs to order. You did have to watch out for the insects. Our room was adequate with 6 bottles of water that were replenished daily but cleaning left a bit to be desired. Staff responded well when used the traditional Thai greeting

Stay away, incompetence and dangerous electrics, not International standard”

The electrical system was dangerous, the staff spoke little or no English. The advertised swimming pool was in another building apparently, no directions in English and very little else. The Breakfast was appalling and dangerous in what was described as a 4 star hotel, the swimming poll was apparently on the second floor of another Hotel, only a few signs in English and the breakfast, described as American, comprised of 3 Stainless steel food warmers, all unheated and unlit burners, with wet soggy ham in one, uncooked process sausage in another and cold hard fried eggs in the last one. The ice in the orange juice reduced it to orange flavoured water and the tea and coffee was warm not hot attached to a heater which was plugged into a multi socket on the table between where one stands and the coffee. The place was well furnished and clean with a plasma TV but the bathroom had a small TV on the wall! the remote did not work and there was a hole in the wall with wires. The Shower head must have been fitted by a midget. The Convention Centre attached on a lower level revealed that the rain gutters were used for electric wiring! The restaurant did not appear to have any international food and both nights had a live show in Thai, who were speaking and attempting to sing loud with music too loud for safety and certainly not for enjoying a relaxing meal. These are a few of the gripes.Usually these Neanderthal people do better. It is a 1 star at best but zero star to me. Never go there again and strongly advise others not to go
