Not a pleasant weekend”
Just spent the weekend in the Surrey. Was in NYC for a celebration and it was recommended by our friends in NYC to stay at the Surrey as they were 6 blocks away. Have stayed there in the past for other family functions. Anyhow we arrived later in the evening and did advise the hotel of late arrival.Supposedly the rooms were recently renovated. However it seems we were given a room that was not fully updated. I asked for a high floor but we were on the 6th. When we got into the room it was 67 degrees considering it was 30 degrees out side. It took till 1:00 am to warm up. I mentioned this to the front desk person the next morning and they were going to have a manager contact me but that never happened. When we departed today I spoke to the front desk person and I had to ask for some relief for our stay. I felt they could have done more considering I have to be back in NYC for a wedding. Location is excellent and so is the bar restaurant but the staff could have been more helpful.

Cozy boutique hotel in Upper East Side”
Price is what one would expect for high end hotel in the neighborhood, but once you're there the location and proximity to the galleries, museums, and striking area to other areas makes the stay pleasant and memorable.

A wonderful hotel. Service and restaurants are superb, but our room 513 had a poor privacy connection door to the next room. Each night we had to ask security to ask our neighbor to turn down/off the sound on their television. Noise until 4:30am on the first of three nights!!!

Beautiful location, lousy service”
I checked in and wasn’t even asked if I needed help with my bags, wasn’t given a printed receipt, wasn’t given an overview of the hotel, checkout times, etc, wasn’t accompanied to my room. I later tried to call down to the concierge, guest services and finally the operator- no one answered the phone - I had to walk down to the lobby. Terrible service for such a high end hotel. Very disappointing

Good but not great”
The hotel was good but not great. We experienced too many separate issues (four in total) that really took the shine off of the stay. Most of these were fixed first time (one wasn't) but still in a $600+ / night hotel you shouldn't be faced with this volume of issues.

We stayed at The Surrey Hotel last summer for a week with our daughter, her husband and our 3 little granddaughters. It was wonderful last year so we chose to stay here again and were not disappointed. This time we tried the Cafe Boulud in the hotel for dinner; it was excellent and the fois gras was to die for. The hotel is within walking distance to many museums and the very best shopping. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Pricey but worth the cost”
I was supposed to arrive at the JF Kennedy Airport at 5:35 on March 22, but my flight was delayed by 30 minutes, and of all things, I had to stand in line for two hours and a half to get through the passport control. It was almost 10:00 when I got to the hotel by share-ride taxi. When I explained my circumstances to the staff at the front desk and made a late checkout request, they agreeably accepted it, so I could take a nap for 4 hours to expel my long flight fatigue. And most importantly, all the receptionists were totally friendly. Unlike most standoffish employees at luxury hotels, they understand what hospitality is all about.

Great hotel and very well situated ”
Overall we very much enjoyed the ambience of this boutique hotel that was very well situated. The decor was quite striking with a very art deco feel about it and the most comfortable bed we have slept in in a while. The service was very friendly and helpful giving us some great restaurant suggestions. We were also close enough to the subway line to get anywhere we wanted.

不错的体验”
我和好友预定了3晚的豪华大床房，由于抵达的时间比较早，酒店当时没有房间给我们early check-in,所以就先去逛街，大概14：30回到酒店后，还是没有合适的房间入住，前台工作人员看我们很疲惫的样子就帮我们升级到了套房，让我们可以休息，尽管套房的楼层很低，外面就是空调机房比较吵，但是能及时得到休息还是很高兴。楼下餐厅的菜很好吃，酒吧的饮料也很好喝，周围非常便捷，下次来纽约我还想带家人入住the surrey。
