The staffs were nice, though very strict with time. We booked that includes dinner and breakfast and everything was delicious and they were given as scheduled. The onsen bath was a nice experience too.

Very authentic Japanese Onsen Hostel”
The entire crew is operating by a group of veteran peoples. They are very nice if you can communicate with them in Japanese. The breakfast they serve is very nice and you will surprised. Please remember check in before 7pm and the bad thing is the check out time is 10am. So if you plan for 2d1n Trip here, better arrival at noon and finish all attraction before evening and check out at 10am (max) back to Hakata by 12pm Yufuin no Mori train no2. Please do reserve your private rooftop onsen when you check in.

Be aware that dinner requires booking two days in advance, and none of the booking confirmation or correspondence informed us of this. Also, there is an 11pm curfew and we would have appreciated advance notice - although in Yufuin this would rarely be an issue.

I like the facility including roof top spa, Japanese style breakfast, and their bicycle service for guests. Even the price is slight high but it is perfect when my wife and I rent a bicycle and went for Kirin lake in the early cold morning. Very impressive.

Easy access from Yufuin station, great value for money with private onsen”
Ryokan Jyounoyu is good choice to stay at Yufuin just only 5-8 minutes walk from Yufuin station. The staffs are friendly even they are not fluent in English but they understand basic English and try to communicate. There is private onsen on roof top but you have to book when you check in also there are other choices to enjoy other 2 onsen pool here. Breakfast is good. Also they have bicycle for rent 500 Yen / 6 hours.

Location is good, 5 min walk from the train station/bus terminal. Aeon supermarket nearby Room is spacious and reasonably clean It surprises me that the hotel is closed every Wednesday. Therefore, I cannot leave my luggage at the hotel after check out (not even until 12 pm as the others do during other days). I have not been notified of this issue until check in

This hotel 's location is very good, only 5 mins walk from the train station. The breakfast is good, service is also good. It provide public hot spring and also private spring bath (it need to reverse when you arrive to hotel). Only one problem is the hotel is closed at 12pm, we must take back our luggage before 12pm or check out at the morning at bring to station locker.

The food add value to the stay”
The senior staff not friendly and lack of patient during our check in and enquiry(we are oversea tourists how can they so impatient) Room smell like something is moldy i think may be because of the tatami. The check out time is 10am as stated but we found out they keep away all the pillows and blankets after our breakfast(finish around 9am). The only thing we have no complain at all was the food. Dinner and breakfast were super good. Add value to our stay.

Inflexible policy, unhelpful staff”
Pros- near Yufuin station, optional kaiseki dinner for 5500 JPY which must be reserved at least 2 days before. You can message them to reserve. Breakfast was included. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. Cons- we lost the slip of laminated paper for the private onsen timing and was made to climb up to the onsen again in the cold when we were still not fully dry and dressed in yukata to look for that " very important" slip of paper. The staff was very upset that we lost it and kept stressing that it was very important look for it and refused to give us our room key. In the end they relented but our mood was spoilt. Also note that the hotel reception is closed on Wednesdays and you can't leave your luggage there before check in on Wednesdays. After checking out, you can only leave your luggage there till 12 noon. There is a curfew and you have to return by 11pm at night. Our kaiseki dinner was in the private hall as we had 2 rooms. They kept rushing us to be there 5 min before 7pm.

Inconsiderate hotel”
It’s a worse experience that the day we checked out was raining heavily but the staff don’t let us to stay inside the hotel and still asked us to leave the hotel immediately after checking out just because the hotel was closed on that day. Also the staff was hard to communicate which can only communicate in very very simple English with some body language. Though the meals and location were ok, the service needs to be improved.

1) staff was very rude. 2) Never come across Hotel door close at 11pm, all must be back by 11 pm. 3) Not worth the money except their traditional breakfast. 4) Not flexible even a small favor. Not Recommended!!!

The staff of this inn is very nice and perfectly serve us with service mind. The room is clean and private onsen on the roof top with scene of Mt. Yufu is very fantastic. Dont miss this inn when you stay in Yufuin.
