Hana Momiji
Jozankei,Sapporo - View on map
"We took a bus from JR station not knowing they have a free shuttle from Odori Park. The fare was cheap and we enjoyed looking at all the stops. Using waze when we neared Jozankei the bus stopped outside Jozankei Hotel. We should alight here as Hana Momiji is opposite Jozankei Hitel. But waze says it was still 1.3 KM away. There was no English name Hana Momiji outside the hotel. We alighted more than a km away. We walked and got lost. We arrived at an old folks home who telephoned Hana Momiji to come fetch us. When we arrived at Hana Momiji we could see it was opposite Jozankei Hotel. Checking in. The room was so spacious with tatami.mats. Can sleep six persons if needed. They had mattresses stacked in built in cupboards. We booked a private onsen for an hour. We stayed two nights. Both nights we had Kaiseki dinner and the menu was different. It was so good. The buffet breakfast had everything to make one happy. We will recommend everyone to experience this stay here. Onsen here is the attraction for all visitors. They provide free shuttle to Odori Park and we enjoyed the free shuttle. One of the most relaxing time of our life. Japanese hospitality at its best. "

Unwind Hotel & Bar Sapporo
Sapporo,Sapporo - View on map
"Friendly staff. Extremely comfortable room and very spacious, particularly for Japan as they're well known for very small rooms. Included light breakfast every morning dropped off at your door. Complimentary wine in the early evenings upstairs in a contemporary, cozy bar. Less than 5 mins around the corner from the subway line, making it a convenient location. Just over 5mins to walk to Susukino (main eateries area and sight seeing activities). Staff were great and fluent in English/Japanese. They helped with putting together our itineraries each day as they had heaps of knowledge of Sapporo . Only sub-par note was that we were told the hotel was staffed 24/7 and there'd be always someone at the reception area, as we needed to return something at 6:45am just we before we checked out, but instead we found the counter un-manned with a closed sign. Apart from this, we'd certainly come back for another stay in the future."

Hotel Shikanoyu
Jozankei,Sapporo - View on map
"- Location : I think it's not the problem because I take the shuttle bus from Sapporo which take us to in front of the hotel. Also you can take the bus from Sapporo to which the bus stop is very near to the hotel (around 3-5 minute) - Shuttle bus : They provide shuttle bus from Otaru park (in front of NHK building / Sapporo TV Tower) which depart 15:00 from Sapporo and depart 10:00 from the hotel on the next day. This service required reservation before the date of departure!!! but I can't contact them by email or via Agoda so that you have to call them both from youre country or when you arrive in Japan - Food : I reserved with Dinner buffet and Breakfast buffet. This is the most wonderful Japanese buffet I've ever had in this Japan trip. Dinner provide many Japanese traditional dish, Sashimi, Curry, Ramen. Tempura and many others - Room : We selected Japanese style room. It's big enough with all facilities. First when you enter there is a table and tea set instead of bed. They will make a bed for you between 18:00-21:00 when you have dinner. One problem is that there is no shower room in my room (there is just toilet and sink) so you have to take the public bath - Public bath : This is very great too. It's very big with almost hundred people capacity with different temperature water, Jaguzzi, steaming and outdoor area - Staff is nice with standard service"

Jozankei View Hotel

"Hotel provides free pick up and drop off at Sapporo that makes transfer very easy. My family of 5 (include 1 child) took a Japanese room. The futon beds were very comfortable (especially in the cold winter), the hot spring was great. My child also enjoyed the pool. The food is average, caters to tour groups. Generally we had a good time there."

Okujozankeionsen Kashogyoen
Jozankei,Sapporo - View on map
"Kasho Gyoen is probably the newest most modern and luxurious onsen in the small town of Jozankei. Most of the onsen hotels in Jozankei are old concrete buildings that are eyesores to the quaint mountain town. The pros: Jozankei is a 40-minute bus rise away from Susukino bus station. Kasho Gyoen is modern and luxe, and while the staff struggle with English, everyone makes a sincere effort to make one’s stay fabulous. The onsen is spotless, quiet, serene with great forest views from the spacious room, excellent amenities from the open bar, coffee and tea machine, the bath toiletries had cleansing oil, face moisturizers, toner and the usual soaps. The private onsen is a big tub of modern concrete slab and so relaxing. The bathroom had its own heated towel rack. The dinner that came with our package was exquisite Italian kaiseki with fresh Hokkaido sources ingredients. The wine was superb! They also have a really cool bar and bartender. "

Jozankei Daiichi Hotel Suizantei

"The overall experience of this ryokan was amazing right from the start. They provide complimentary bus shuttle from Sapporo (near Okura Hotel) to the ryokan, but please remember to make advance reservations with the hotel for seats on the bus. Upon reaching the property, the staff was very welcoming and check-in process was brisk. So we were quickly settled into our rooms & yutakas. Not only was the room very clean and spacious, there was boiled water and ice water ready for us. Some of the things we really liked about this place was 1) there were sizes for the yutakas provided and we could wear it everywhere within the hotel, 2) the public and outdoor baths were not crowded at all and very clean, 3) the common area had a very relaxing vibe and comfortable seating areas + massage chairs, 4) the chef menu dinner was yummy but would have been helpful if they could explain the courses in English and 5) breakfast was delicious with a view! There was nothing we could fault the hotel on. Totally awesome experience and would do it again! "

"We absolutely loved our stay here- the dinner was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan. There is a convenient shuttle from Sapporo and free parking if you prefer to drive, and once you’re all checked in the only thing in your agenda is to eat delicious food and sit in an onsen. The hospitality is just incredible. We needed to use some Japanese language, in case that’s important to you, but we were the only foreigners there which made the experience even better. If we are ever able to visit Hokkaido again, we will absolutely be back. "

Jozankei Tsuruga Resort Spa Mori no Uta
Jozankei,Sapporo - View on map
"Location: centrally located to all the major attractions and restaurants in Jozankei Amenities: interesting gift shop, live violin soloist, free bus service to and from Sapporo (reservations required) Facilities: Onsen in clean, amply supplied with sundries and extra towels for bath and face, handicapped accessible pool is available, and setting is peaceful and quiet. Room: standard room was unexceptional, but clean and tastefully furnished. Staff: Fluent in English (appreciated bonus, but not a deal breaker), all were extremely polite and hospitable Buffet: Adequately supplied, but nothing extraordinary. Not worth the price if it's not included in a room-stay"

"We were taken care of from the moment we stepped through the door. We had the tatami Jap style room and it was superb. We had our own private tub in the room with onsen water flowing directly. The public bath is small as compared to bigger hotels but the water was excellent! Our skin was obviously softer and smoother. Very nice soak! Dinner was great too!"
