Find Ryokans in Kaga, Japan

"We arrange a day or 2 ago to ask hotel fetch us at the station. Upon arrival, two friendly uncle help us carry bags to their small bus. Then bring us to hotel. There are another 3 or 4 staffs standing outside of hotel main lobby to greet us. Then bring us to checkin counter, as we reach earlier, she offer us a free bicycle rental for us to roam around the beautiful country side town. Most of the shops are not open during lunch time, so end up we eat at convinience store. About 3 plus we back to hotel, again a warm welcome at main door. There is a japanese staff lead us to counter again. When they found out that we can speak mandarin, a chinese staff approach us and she help us with all processes. She introduces us the in house hot bath area, lead us to room, and make tea for us. She is very straight and cute that always able to make us laugh. Hotel do offer paid private pool, (free at the morning for hotel guest). We took one and never regret paying that. The hotel room is spacious, very nice decorated, we took the japanese style room. Every single items are taken care by them, and you just need to enjoy it. We didnt book the hotel food, so at night we went out, nearby there is this japanese-chinese style uncle that do all the cooking. The food not bad, together with a warm sake, perfect moment. The next day we check out and uncle send us back to station again. Again, staffs stand outside and wave good bye to us. I need to praise for the details of the services, they continuously wave till our bus turn and cannot see us. If system allowed, i would like to give 6 stars for staffs, all facilities is great, but staffs make it perfect and outstanding. Thank you Rurikoh staffs and girl from hubei, you made our trip a memorable one. "

"Room is nice and clean, it's very japanese style with tatami and sliding door. Onsen is great and has varieties. Staffs are helpful. The free shuttle bus service to Kaga Onsen station is very handy since the hotel location is far from station. Location is near the Soyu and Kosoyu."

"Pros : view of the quiet Kaga lake, only 20 min drive from Komatsu airport Cons : rooms aren't small and must have been nice long ago but now it's pretty worn out and not exactly clean either. I found the short night in the room which included nothing quite expensive (over 25000 yen). I was stunned to meet such an unkind, rude check in staff; she refused to talk to me directly and was only speaking to her colleague, and she didn't seem very polite to her colleague either. What a shame really; even though other staff were kind and somewhat made up for her rude attitude, she really did make us have a different opinion on travelling in Japan. Perhaps it was the fine example of the new breed of Japanese who can't bother to keep up with their extraordinary reputation and hospitality. "
