Heaven on earth!”

This would have to be the most amazing place I have ever stayed at in my life. Santhiya exceeded my expectations again and again. We organised the speedboat/pickup from koh samui airport prior to arrival. (we spoke to a couple who took the public ferry to kho phangan and then a taxi through the island to get to the resort. although cheaper, they said it was hell and took forever to get there, so def recommend taking the hotels speedboat to the resort as although expensive, very worth it) A lady from santhiya greeted us at the meeting point and gave us water and a cool towel. We then waited for the santhiya van which took us to a waiting area near the ferries in koh samui. We then took the speedboat with santhiya which only took 30 mins and i am so glad that we did as we saw the public ferry and it was huge, old and looked like it was a bout to sink. When we arrived at santhiya we were given coconuts to drink, a cool towel and maps and brochures of what you can do on koh phangan. Then a wooden tuk tuk took us to our room. We stayed in a pool access room and it was gorgeous! Traditional thai room but very luxurious and new. Everything is well thought of, we were given robes, slippers, beach bag, umbrella's, adaptors etc. When we walked out of our room on to our deck area there was a sun bed and a table then you can just jump straight into the pool which has the most amazing view! The boats are actually little sunbeds and i could just live in that pool! Breakfast was great, there is a library where there are free books to borrow. There is a little relaxation area where you can read, relax or play some games, chess, jenga and checkers are provided. Free internet, so bring your laptop or you can use one of theirs. The gym is standard and be prepared to sweat a ton as the air con is never on high enough..but it wasnt bad. The town is only a short walk along a path.Amazing place! You have to visit! Staff so helpful and friendly!

Paradise on Earth - in Phangan”

Well, I just returned from paradise on earth have I not. I am surprised that Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort and Spa is not the top resort on the island, it certainly must be! From the moment I stepped into the resort's compound until the last day when I left, it was absolute bliss - the staff will look after your every need with a smile on their faces, and you are there just to enjoy the resort. Food offerings - out of this world (you have to taste them to understand). The room itself - I had the supreme deluxe which overlooked the sea and cliff and had our own pool - amazing. The bed - super comfy. All amenities - top notch. A shuttle takes you around the compound - it arrives within 2 minutes without fail. They take every effort possible to make you feel comfortable. Without doubt one of the top resorts not just in Thailand, but globally. I will definitely return.

Beautiful but costly”

Santhiya was definitely a beautiful and relaxing resort. I would recommend staying in a room with a pool instead of the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was just a normal bath tub. The spa at Santhiya was also lovely. From the resort, walk over to Thong Nai Pan Noi beach where the beach is beautiful and warm and you just do not want to get out of the water.

five stars in the middle of nature.”

We spent two wonderful weeks in Santhiya Koh phangan, a medium sized five star hotel set in the middle of a pure nature mountain forest.Initially we booked only one week in a deluxe room which is a regular room with balcony in one of their buildings;beautifully carved wood decoration,all inside was very well appointed with only minor details in the bathroom tiles.The following week,due to our disastrous experience in Koh tao's booked property,we decided to "escape" and made a very last minute reservation back in Santhiya,this time a hideaway pool villa,which was just amazing,with open air bathroom and private pool. A nonstop network of small cars to transfer guests up and down the hill is available,we barely used them since we liked to spend some calories. The hotel tries to keep guest dining in its restaurants offering discounts in food and beverages,food is good and the wine list is petty decent. The breakfast is excellent,ample western and Asian options ,delicious cappuccino.

The slice of heaven”

after having an incredible 6 night stay at the jw marriott in phuket - my family was not expecting what greeted us a every turn at santhiya. from the moment we received our luggage - we were greeted by the friendly transportation crew who grabbed our bags and whisked us the marina. they offered us wonderful scented "cold" towels and water that was much needed. upon arriving at the marina were were again guided to an air conditioned office - where the staff completed the check-in paper work while we waited for the boat transporation to the island. a short 45 minutes later we were on our way - i would highly recommend to anyone to take the high speed 30 minute boat ride to the resort - it saves so much time and really gives you a good feel what koh phangan has to offer. again a large staff met us at the resort docs and led us to the reception area where a nice tropical drink was waiting for the entire family - and more cold (frozen) towels. love the towels in case you missed it. anyway after a quick over-view of the activities and key contact information we were escorted to our villa. wow!!! i can't begin to describe it - #302 was our home for the next 5 days - a private slice of heaven for us. now some might not like the privacy and limited direct view of the sea - but to us - the large pool, huge rocks, outside bath-tub and over-all landscaping was just what the doctor ordered. besides we were traveling with 2 kids, (9, and 6) - so we felt very relaxed that we were not disturbing anyone. well - to continue...the included breakfast is quite nice - nothing over the top, but nice. the lower bar - which has basic western type food, pizza, burgers etc...is not only good - but incredible value priced. remember we just came from the jw in phuket where although we have a good time - definetly felt short changed when it came to the food prices. anyway i digress.... simply put - go - check agoda for deals!!

Great location, friendly staff”

Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa is a beautiful resort located in pristine Koh Phangan, far away from the bustle of Koh Samui. Very relaxing and quiet. The food is good, but not great. However, the location means that it is easy to eat at other hotels or more local restaurants without going too far. We highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay.

Santhiya hotel review”

This is a great place to get away from it all. A perfect romantic getaway. I especially liked that the cheapest room had views of the mountains and sea from the oversized bath. It has it's own private beach but the water is quite choppy this is similar to the next beach thong nai pan noi but different to thong nai pan yai where the water is much more protected. Depending on the conditions this can be problem of you intend to go kayaking or jet sking. The restaurant had very good food and I thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast each morning. Buffet dinner was also very good.

Great Getaway!”

My stay at Santhiya was great! (highly satisfactory). Stayed in Seaview Pool Villa Suite and the room was just like the photos. Flew in from Bangkok to Koh Samui, arrived in the morning. Arranged the hotel to pick me up from the airport then take me to the hotel by its own private boat. Had about one hour to wait. You can wait at its own pier which was part of its other resort in Koh Samui or rent a scooter to go to the Big Buddha (it's about 150 baht for one day) 20 minutes high speed boat ride then you are at the resort. Enjoyed the view of the island from the boat. The hotel staff are all kind and helpful. The services were satisfactory. Location wise the hotel has its own beach and you can walk to next couple of long beach. Lunch or dinner at the resort is great and also can walk to next beach for few other dining options. We took the hotel's snorkeling tour which was 900 baht/person but minimum 4 persons are required otherwise you just pay for 4 person and get the whole speed boat (thai style longtail boat, not luxury good experience) The island does not have people like in Koh Samui or Bangkok who constantly trying to rip people off. Things are little bit pricier than Bangkok but reasonable. I very much enjoyed the stay at Koh Samui.

Loved every moment ”

Pros : The hotel is simply stunning. While not cheap, compared with other hotels I have stayed in of a similar spec the price was about 25% cheaper at santhiya and nothing was sacrificed. The location is remote but a short walk to the next beach there is a lovely small shopping street with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Pharmacy, mini mart and cheap cocktails we're available until well into the night. The staff at the hotel were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. Cleanliness was spot on all around the resort. The maids did a brilliant job and made us cool towel sculptures every day. The pool was amazing and there was never a battle to get up early to get a Sun bed. Food was lovely and for a hotel very reasonably priced. The lady who welcomed us on arrival also informed us of the out the hotel restaurants which we thought was good. We really have no negatives to add to the review. Loved every minute and phangan is a beautiful unspoilt location.

The road to the hotel from the pier is somewhat adventurous, but the warm welcome with coconut drink made you forget about the trip. Special open cars take you to yr room. Our room was great, via the balcony we could enter the pool, that you share with about 8 rooms. You can book all kind of activities via the hotel. We booked a cooking course. Restaurant at the hotel is very good, but there are also some local restaurants next to the Santhiya beach. There you can also book snorkling trips. I can recommend trips to Ao Thong Nai Pan Noi/Yat for the restaurants, Koh Maa for snorkling/beach and Haat Rin for shopping/eating

Very luxurious and fantastic getaway.”

Unfortunately the only criticism I have about Santhiya is that it was very remote from everything else on Koh Phangan. However, other than that it was a magnificent room with a private pool and bath. It was a bit strange that the bathroom was only separated by a curtain though. The service was great, very helpful and warm friendly staff who greeted you at any given moment. The cars are great, they take you around to different hotel facilities as our room was quite an uphill treck from reception. The restaurant buffet was fantastic although pricey. The quality and diversity of food was good and breakfast was included and had a great array of different things including an omelette stand. The actual buildings were lovely wood and very open spaces. During breakfast a Thai woman would play a traditional instrument in the centre pagoda which really added to the lovely atmosphere.

Santhiya Resort & Spa in Koh Phangan is definitely the BEST hotel that you can ever imagine. It's not so cheap but it worth every BHT! Everything was perfect - the hotel is amazing, the stuff were kindness and helpful, good food, and the location is great for relaxation. Don't think twice, you'll never regret!

Small piece of Garden of Eden ”

the stay in Santhiya Koh Phangan is a time piece to remember. fantastic location in between the forest and the sea surrounded by birds and butterflies. excellent service of all staff, performed with a gentle smile and a real attitude to serve. excellent food both quality, variety, quantity, cleanliness and dining space. Cozy huts, we recommend one with a privet pool. our only comment is on putting some more focus of wood parts maintenance to keep the beautiful surrounding from deterioration

Great place!”

This is one of our favorite resort out of our trip to Thailand. They first pick you up in a modified golf cart truck with benches on top and cart you to the lobby and rooms. The buildings all blend in perfectly with the trees keeping a natural look to everything. The resort was very nature friendly compared to some of the resorts in Koh Samui. The staff was super helpful, we took a snorkeling tour and also a cooking class which we loved. The pool was refreshing and beautifully designed. It was an infinity pool with 2 waterfalls. The beach at the resort is rocky, so be careful. They offer snorkeling equipment and kayaks for cheap. They also created a foot path to the other beach which is natural and has some beautiful white sand. If you stay here, make sure you have dinner once at the resturant by the sea. They have their own speed boat that will take you to their private pier at Koh Samui. We had a flight to catch and was short on time so we took their speed boat. It wasnt cheap, but well worth it in my opinion. The wife and I are already thinking about plans to come back to Koh Phangan and staying here with some friends.

Relaxing stay at secluded resort”

This was our second time staying at Santhiya. We both love the relaxing environment and the feeling of escaping from the busy world around. It's a great place for couples to get away from it all, but it is secluded and there's not much freedom to explore the rest of Koh Phangan on your own, if you so desired. From our experience, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and the pool is great--it even has a couple beautiful waterfalls. If one were to solely eat at Santhiya's restaurants and indulge in the spa, the trip would quickly become very expensive. All the prices are significantly inflated. I would definitely recommend Santhiya for any couple looking for a relaxing holiday, and I look forward to returning in the future!

Tropical Get Away”

this was our 3rd time visiting santhiya, and we still love it. it's a nice holiday away from our busy lives. the staff are friendly and helpful. the resort is located on a beautiful piece of land, isolated from the other resorts near by and from the other tourists who visit koh phangan. the rooms are comfortable and spacious. we would definitely come back.

Stunningly beautiful resort capturing thainess hidden on the island”

Capturing thainess in the rooms, detailed decoration, and resort facilities, Santhiya gives a special beautiful stay, stunning views tucked away from the noise on koh phangnan. The resorts sits on top of a hill. The villas are very private. The entire resort is lush green in tropical thainess but at the same time all faciltiies and rooms are spotless clean and insect free, a rarity for hotels tucked away in lush green jungles. Pool is wide and beautiful, breakfast dining has a stunning view, staff service is always ready and friendly. The individual suites are also beautiful and clean. The only drawbacks are that the resort is a bit far from restaurants or main areas and the beach in front of the resort is small, however a short 2 min drive you can arrive at the wider beach in front. Would highly recommend

Fantastic hotel, perfect for a honeymoon!”

stayed at santhiya for 6 days for the start of our honeymoon. really good resort and on a remote part of the island. we used the private transfer from samui which we highly recommend as the trip to santhiya from the public ferry wharf is over mountains and the road is not smooth at all. we had a sea view pool villa and it was excellent. it was very spacious and well designed. the included breakfast was the best we've had in thailand and we've been here almost a month now, very fresh and lots of options. the resort also has good facilities. the main pool was huge, the gym actually had good equipment (which we're finding rare in thailand), and both the restaurants were nice. the beach in front of the hotel isnt particularly good, but the next beach is only a 2-3 minute walk away and is great. also the check-in process was smooth and quick, with the welcome drink and the free massage a nice touch. as mentioned the resort is on a secluded part of phanang, but there is a village around behind the next beach and is only a 10-15 minute walk. plenty of shops and places to eat. the resort restaurants were very nice, but so were the places in the village...and for a fraction of the cost. can highly recommend luna lounge, we ate there a few times and it was some of the best food we've had:) good atmosphere and quite cheap, think 7 cocktails, 3 entrees, 2 mains and 1 dessert for 2000bht! we also hired a scooter from jips place and rode all over the island which was awesome! special mention to our housekeeping staff peng & pom for the little suprises they kept leaving:) overall very nice resort, would recommend for honeymooning or a romantic getaway as its not close to any of the other attractions on the island...good for relaxing.

Great hotel with a Disney-like feel”

For our honeymoon I booked the sea view pool villa. Unfortunately, the room wasn't as pictured on the website. It was a cheaper private villa room where they had trimmed the bushes to provide sea view ( if you stood on the right spot on the deck.) The villa was still very nice and cosy, but nevertheless I was left with the feeling I got taken for my money. The overall hotel experience was very Artificial. It is the best hotel on the island. But services and dinners are extremely expensive in comparison to the restaurants and spas in the village and beach next door. If it wasn't for the nearby beach of thong nai pan yai and village of thong nai pan noi we wouldn't have had a good time in Santhiya.

Santhiya ”

From the minute that we were welcomed at the airport Santhiya resort was a perfect experience. We stayed in a seaview pool villa which was amazing and very secluded. The staff went out of their way to be polite, helpful and happy and the ambience of the whole resort is that of seclusion. The spa was also a wonderful experience and there were daily deals on treatments. The only downside is the dirt road into Santhiya, this is very steep and treacherous and quite a scary ride the first time you do it. The best route in is definately by speed boat but this is quite expensive to do both ways. In conclusion we loved this resort!
