I've read bad comments about the staff. The staff is awesome. Dormitory nice, maybe would need an aircon for the price. Resort facilities, great!

Friendly staff, good food/drink. Had a lovely time, too short though!

Very clean, very nicely outfitted and decorated premises in "forest camp" style. Young and friendly staff.

Located very close to the Orangutan and Sunbear sanctuaries. The staff were very helpful. Facilities could be improved upon, but it is perhaps a conscious decision to keep it a bit rustic. Maybe a bit on the expensive side

Just an absolutely lovely place to stay and all within walking distance of the Orangutang Sanctuary. Go for it.

Nice place to stay in Sepilok”
A bit isolated place, but this is its main charm - right in the forest, fresh air and natural sounds! The only drawback is that the road may easily become flooded if it rains. Quite close to the sanctuaries. Amazing free breakfast and very friendly staff, but the restaurant is a bit overpriced. They want you to take your shoes off but the floors seemed not to have been mopped for a long time, otherwise it was a clean place. The dorm doors did not close, there was a latch that could close only from one side, so nobody could enter from the other (so if one person falls asleep you cannot enter). There was an outdoor pool, which was very nice!

Simply magical!”
We came to Sepilok to celebrate a major wedding anniversary, and we could not have chosen a more magical place. We booked the deluxe chalet, and it was perfect. Secluded location, serenely peaceful, and very comfortable. But if you are looking for 6-star pampered city luxury, look elsewhere, as this is a back-to-nature forest retreat. We even had a wifi interruption because a monkey came and took a bite out of the cable, but they soon got it fixed, and the bats roost dangling from the roof timbers of the front porch and the balcony, and do what bats do. The food was excellent - simple but filling buffet breakfast, with eggs cooked to order, and delicious local dishes served all day - western food also available. The staff were wonderful, polite and helpful in every way. The two fantastic animal sanctuaries (orang utans and sun bears) are a short walk away - I timed it as 11 minutes. These are unmissable - worth a full day at each. We had 2 days with the orang utans, and wanted more.

Fantastic bungalows in a good location”
A series of bungalows roughly centres around a small lake and jungle area. The bungalows are extremely clean and comfortable with good views from most terraces. There is a restaurant with reasonably priced good quality food and a small plunge pool to cool off. It's located maybe 25 minutes walk from the Rainforest Discovery Centre and 15 mins walk from Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary. The only negative is patchy wifi coverage and slow speeds even from their restaurant but this is more of a Sepilok area in general issue and in no way detracts from it. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Hidden gem in Sepilok! Cozy Stay & ”
Pro: Nice ambient & view. Comfortable bedding. Really like the back-to-nature-styled bathroom. Nice design for the water tap. Enjoyed the restaurant area & its ambient. Con: Staffs are not proactive enough (in giving info on the accommodation and guest benefits)

Beautiful stay”
We were pleasantly surprised by the resort. The staff were very helpful, room was private and set right in amongst the trees and the food was delicious too. One minor thing was there was no working Wi-Fi as there was a problem with the cable. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful retreat”
We absolutely loved our stay there and wished we would have stayed longer than just one night. Even though there’s not that much to do in Sepilok itself, the Resort itself would have been worth it to stay longer. Also the food was delicious& staff really helpful. Only one thing turned out to be a bad idea: wash our laundry there! We never paid as much as we paid there for our laundry (160RM!!). Otherwise everything was great.

Clean and great atmosphere”
Having a resort, but still have dorm rooms is ideal for individual travellers. Great atmosphere there as well with a lot of other like minded, nature loving backpackers. Nice to be in the middle of nature and the fact that it is on walking distance from the orangutans and rainforest discovery centre

Beautiful getaway!”
The resort is beautiful. Our chalet was wonderful too. Love the tropical rustic concept. Never thought the ‘bubu’ (fish trap) can be made as cool chandelier! I also think the attached outdoor shower is so awesome. We bring our 7 years old daughter, and were changed compulsory additional cost (RM50+) for her extra bed and breakfast, which we dont really mind coz the extra bed really make all of us extra comfortable. Breakfast was very basic and light. The restaurant is beautiful especially at night. The pool is small but the kids still love it. Extra info: Upon check-in, they will ask for RM200 deposit or credit card details.

Great place to stay in Sepilok”
We stayed in the dorm room and we ended up having the dorm room to ourselves which was nice. Room was nice and fairly clean, my only main complaint about the room was that I feel like there should be mosquito nets for the beds. Staff were friendly and the resort is in a good location, only a 10-15 min walk from the orangutan sanctuary. The breakfast was lovely and the food you can order at the restaurant is amazing! The veggie burger and margarita pizza was very tasty, and you must try the chocolate lava cake!

Excellent bungalows in jungle”
Individualized bungalows were clean, quiet, even if some were far from the eating area. WiFi is only on the deck, but there are plenty of places to sit. Food was delicious, staff very helpful. Walking distance (20 mins) from orangutans and sun bears, 30 minutes to Rainforest center. Excellent place to stay unless you are going into town in Sandakan a lot, then it is at least a 40 minute drive each way. Enjoyed relaxing and being device free for awhile!

Great stay”
We had a lovely stay in a chalet at forest edge. We loved the outdoor bath! Balcony looked out over a pond in the forest it was beautiful, the room itself was perfect nice comfy bed, air con nice bathroom and even tv with sports channels! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, they cook fresh eggs to your liking. And plenty on the menu for dinner (we are vegetarians and we were happy with the options for our 2 night stay)

Walking distance to Orangutans & Sunbears”
Overall good place to stay, the staff are wonderful with a good restaurant. The property is sprawling in a controlled jungle setting, many plant, flowers & birds. Some rooms are a long ways from the reception so if mobility issue, ask for a closer room. Our room, very clean, had a nice deck & view of greenery & flowers, well used king bed, TV, no fridge,to get into shower/bathtub, had to go up 2 stairs so again could be an issue if limited mobility. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the orangutans & sunbears & about 45 min walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. We stayed 4 nights & probably 3 would have been enough.

A pleasant stay in Sepilok”
We had a nice time staying at Sepilok Forest Edge Resort while waiting to be picked up to Kinabatangan River the next day. Our cabin was very nice furnished and it was clean and comfy which is important for us. The resort is also within walking distance to major attractions in Sepilok.

Need a bit more clean in bathroom and maintenance. All other things are perfect for relax. Start your day with a rich breakfast, enjoy your day in little swimming pool with jungle view, sunbathing under tree shadow and very kindly, friendly staff around. We really enjoyed our stay here. The grounds are brilliant to walk around, we spotted some deer. Our chalet was lovely and breakfast was quite nice although probably not ideal if you are staying for multiple nights as there isn’t too much choice.

This place is so relaxing, being so close to the rainforest is just something else. There are lots of seating areas and a small pool were you can just take in the views & surroundings and relax. The staff were so attentive and helpful! The food here is delicious, a bit more than a traveller would normally pay but worth every penny! Breakfast is perfect, it's help yourself and you even get to BBQ your sausages and toast! It's a 10 min walk to the orangutan & sun bear sanctuaries so need for any transportation. Will definitely be back!!
