Fantastic bungalows in a good location”
A series of bungalows roughly centres around a small lake and jungle area. The bungalows are extremely clean and comfortable with good views from most terraces. There is a restaurant with reasonably priced good quality food and a small plunge pool to cool off. It's located maybe 25 minutes walk from the Rainforest Discovery Centre and 15 mins walk from Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary. The only negative is patchy wifi coverage and slow speeds even from their restaurant but this is more of a Sepilok area in general issue and in no way detracts from it. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Hidden gem in Sepilok! Cozy Stay & ”
Pro: Nice ambient & view. Comfortable bedding. Really like the back-to-nature-styled bathroom. Nice design for the water tap. Enjoyed the restaurant area & its ambient. Con: Staffs are not proactive enough (in giving info on the accommodation and guest benefits)

Wonderful retreat”
We absolutely loved our stay there and wished we would have stayed longer than just one night. Even though there’s not that much to do in Sepilok itself, the Resort itself would have been worth it to stay longer. Also the food was delicious& staff really helpful. Only one thing turned out to be a bad idea: wash our laundry there! We never paid as much as we paid there for our laundry (160RM!!). Otherwise everything was great.

Sleeping with a RAT in our room”
We were staying in the dorms and encountered a rat (the kind of wildlife you don't want to encounter!) in our room. I was on the top bunk and the rat was right next to my face. Apart from that, it was decent, the staff were nice and the location was excellent. Luckily we were only there for one night and just needed a bed to crash after a long flight.

Clean and great atmosphere”
Having a resort, but still have dorm rooms is ideal for individual travellers. Great atmosphere there as well with a lot of other like minded, nature loving backpackers. Nice to be in the middle of nature and the fact that it is on walking distance from the orangutans and rainforest discovery centre

Couple of days”
Unfortunately we arrived on a day after winds. The pool was out of action ( the main reason . We had no water in our lodge for the afternoon so no showers and little explanatiin until we went down and fussed. The water stopped and started intermittently. Food only just passable really in comparison to food available in the other resorts. It is quite a hike down to the orangutans and bears and a reall 2 km hike in the sun to the rainforest canopy walk. The Sepilok jungle resort and the sepilok nature resort seemed better for food. The Sepilok B and B is better for food too.

Beautiful getaway!”
The resort is beautiful. Our chalet was wonderful too. Love the tropical rustic concept. Never thought the ‘bubu’ (fish trap) can be made as cool chandelier! I also think the attached outdoor shower is so awesome. We bring our 7 years old daughter, and were changed compulsory additional cost (RM50+) for her extra bed and breakfast, which we dont really mind coz the extra bed really make all of us extra comfortable. Breakfast was very basic and light. The restaurant is beautiful especially at night. The pool is small but the kids still love it. Extra info: Upon check-in, they will ask for RM200 deposit or credit card details.

Great place to stay in Sepilok”
We stayed in the dorm room and we ended up having the dorm room to ourselves which was nice. Room was nice and fairly clean, my only main complaint about the room was that I feel like there should be mosquito nets for the beds. Staff were friendly and the resort is in a good location, only a 10-15 min walk from the orangutan sanctuary. The breakfast was lovely and the food you can order at the restaurant is amazing! The veggie burger and margarita pizza was very tasty, and you must try the chocolate lava cake!

Excellent bungalows in jungle”
Individualized bungalows were clean, quiet, even if some were far from the eating area. WiFi is only on the deck, but there are plenty of places to sit. Food was delicious, staff very helpful. Walking distance (20 mins) from orangutans and sun bears, 30 minutes to Rainforest center. Excellent place to stay unless you are going into town in Sandakan a lot, then it is at least a 40 minute drive each way. Enjoyed relaxing and being device free for awhile!

Great stay”
We had a lovely stay in a chalet at forest edge. We loved the outdoor bath! Balcony looked out over a pond in the forest it was beautiful, the room itself was perfect nice comfy bed, air con nice bathroom and even tv with sports channels! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, they cook fresh eggs to your liking. And plenty on the menu for dinner (we are vegetarians and we were happy with the options for our 2 night stay)

Walking distance to Orangutans & Sunbears”
Overall good place to stay, the staff are wonderful with a good restaurant. The property is sprawling in a controlled jungle setting, many plant, flowers & birds. Some rooms are a long ways from the reception so if mobility issue, ask for a closer room. Our room, very clean, had a nice deck & view of greenery & flowers, well used king bed, TV, no fridge,to get into shower/bathtub, had to go up 2 stairs so again could be an issue if limited mobility. It is about a 15-20 minute walk to the orangutans & sunbears & about 45 min walk to the Rainforest Discovery Centre. We stayed 4 nights & probably 3 would have been enough.

Beautiful setting, handy for attractions of Sepilok”
We stayed here in February 2018. Overall we enjoyed our stay and extended one night. Check in could be improved to be faster, we were asked to wait in the restaurant despite arriving mid afternoon. When people have travelled a long time this isn't acceptable. When checking out we had a long wait for them to collect our bags while our taxi was waiting and we had informed them the day before of our departure time. A long walk to our chalet, but a lovely spot with a nice view. Pool is small but refreshing we had it to ourselves but if the resort was busy it would be too small. Restaurant nice, we enjoyed most of the food and staff here were friendly. Breakfast ok. Overall a good experience to stay walking distance to Orangutan and Sun Bears.

Excellent hotel”
Amazing trip in Sepilok Forest Edge Resort. Just as its name, the hotel is on the edge of the forest. It takes 15 mins to get to the center of the Apes by walking. The staff was very friendly to help us exchanging money when we would lose the chance to visit the Apes because of lacking cash. Look forward to the next trip there!

I've read bad comments about the staff. The staff is awesome. Dormitory nice, maybe would need an aircon for the price. Resort facilities, great!
