Very convenient location within walking distance from orangutan and bear rehab centres. ”
You do save money, as you can walk to the only three attractions in Sepilok. A bit outdated but clean. Breakfast should start earlier like in other hotels. Very attentive staff.

      Resort in the jungle”
The resort is kept nice and clean, from the rooms to the pool. The grounds are nice to wander around and there is wildlife to see, including bats eating the insects hanging around the lights after dark. The food at the restaurant was okay, while the location cant be beat close to both the orangutan and sun bear centres.

Close to Sun Bear abd Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center plus wonderful surrounding”
The resort just a short walk to the above places and not far from the Rain Forest Recovery Center. We also easily visited Labuk Bay by the mini van, we just waited for the van in front of the Sepilok Cafetaria or car park. The van departed at 10.30 am; then brought us to Labuk bay, went to platform B; then we had lunch, continue watching video then to platform B before the van sent us back to Sepilok. On the way back the driver dropped us at the Rain Florest Discovery Center , we visited this place then we walked back to the resort. The resort is clean and quite well maintained; my only complaint was the bathroom slash was broken and should change. We love the landscape , a lot of birds flying and whispering. This is my best place to stay during my Sabah vocation trip.

Very rude porter who wouldn’t help me with my bag, dirty room, bad food.”
The porter upon arriving raced off without me and rolled his eyes to my my friend when I had trouble keeping up with my energy’s bag. I actually lost them. It was also pouring with rain and he wouldn’t let my friend under his huge umbrella. There were blood stains on the sheets and the room was tiny with a balcony view of a brick wall. Cobwebs everywhere and bathroom obviously hasn’t been cleaned. The scrambled eggs were weirdly sweet - like they had sugar in them! Reception staff were lovely and helpful. I would recommend forest edge resort - much cheaper, amazing food and lovely staff! Stunning surroundings!

      Perfect location with swimming pool”
Our teenage kids realy enjoyed swimming in the nice pool, in between the visits to Rainforest Discovery Centre, sunbear Rehabilitation centre, orang utang Rehabilitation centre and Labuk Proboscis Monkey centre. Good food, although overpriced. Nice beds, unfortunately without mosquito net, bathroom simple but fine.

The staff were very friendly, the setting beautiful and it was so close to the Orangutan Sanctuary, a very easy walk. The bathroom facilities were dated and not super clean but aside from that, it was comfortable. We had a room with air conditioning and a deck overlooking the garden which I would definitely recommend.

Nice clean rooms, as a family of four we got two connecting rooms which was nice. Don't expect modern decor though. The kids enjoyed the slide in the swimming pool. Wish we could stay longer. Had just breakfast so don't know how the food is.

      Good Budget Option”
As a base to explore the orangutan and sunbear sanctuaries and the rainforest discovery centre, Sepilok Jungle Resort is a good budget option. Although the resort has seen better days, the rooms are comfortable enough and the surroundings are pleasant.

      Good”
The staff are very accommodating and helpful. They even assisted us on our transportation to the airport at a very early morning; since we are to leave early and wont be able to catch the buffet breakfast, prepared "simple breakfast' for us (bottled water and sandwich). The whole resort would look better had it been taken care of well. Rooms are clean but not well lit. And they dont provide remote for the AC, there is a main switch for each room to turn it on/off, but no option to control the temp.

      Medium hotel”
As we expected from other reviews and comments, the place was a bit deprecated. We first booked a superior room with a balcony. This room was not renovated yet I think and was quite okay, but the shower was horrifying. The next day we had a different room and there everything was better. The place really need a big renovation to keep up with the time but for the rest it was an okay visit.

      Total perfection ”
We stayed in the deluxe room with balcony and it did not disappoint. The decor was slightly outdated but I think it made the room feel more charming. The bed was comfortable and there is was plenty of space. The water pressure in the shower is weak but it’s not really an issue. The restaurant is a lovely place to sit with decent, reasonably priced food. The walk between the swimming pool and the restaurant is spectacular, along a wooden bridge surrounded by the beautiful jungle. The swimming pool was lovely and quiet. The location is great, a stones throw from the orangutan and sun bear conservation centres. The hotel also offers other tours, we visited the proboscis monkeys and it was amazing. To get there from Kota Kinabalu we took a coach which drops you off on the main road, then it’s about a 40 minute walk to the hotel but if you tell the hotel in advance I think they can make arrangements to collect you once you get off the coach. All in all an amazing stay, I was very sad to leave!
