GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY, TRUST ME.”
What I really like about Serene Valley Hotel is it’s location. It’s quiet and peaceful, very comforting than the downtown Yangon which was very chaotic and almost nobody speaks English. It’s a small hotel, but the staff especially the breakfast person and the guard outside was very helpful and pleasant. We had a small problem in the beginning because the 24hr check-in information that they put in Agoda was actually misleading, their check-in time was 2pm in reality and they would charge you 10USD per person if you try to check-in earlier than that but thankfully, the conflict was solved since we were also checking out the same day so we asked if we could just skip it and the reception guy finally agreed. Generally in Yangon, it’s hard to speak to everybody as they are not so good in the language, but this hotel was not so bad. The staff were helpful and the rooms were big and clean. Breakfast was also awesome. Overall, I’d stay in this hotel again if I’d have to visit Yangon!

Best Staff, Great Hotel, Peaceful”
The Serene Hotel is aptly named. I moved found it online after staying in a super cramped tiny hotel room downtown and loved it. It was incredibly peaceful. It seems off the beaten path, but it's easy walking distance to an amazing park on Lake Inya and a super modern mall - Myanmar Plaza. In the other direction toward the University of Yangon there are more traditional markets and great things to see. Taxis were easy to catch and there are many buses that are fun, at least for my wife and I to jump on for 200 kyat a pop. I wouldn't recommend the busses at rush hour, but any other time they're quite easy to navigate. Ok back to the hotel. The staff, was the most polite and professional staff I've ever experienced. If I had remembered to get more 1000 kyat bills I would've tipped them more and often. House cleaning, cooks, reception, management and ownership are all top notch. This is a true top-down place of excellence. The rooms were amazing. Spacious, new, clean, comfortable... I cannot say enough good things about this place.

Nice stay in Golden Valley”
We chose this hotel because it was near our old neighbhorhood and we could walk to all of our favorite spots, but it might be a little far for tourists wanting to walk to local sights. But for us, it was a wonderful stay - great room, delicious breakfast buffet and lovely staff. We would definitely stay here again on a return trip to Yangon.

Ample parking, Quiet neighborhood”
This place is for you if your prefer a quiet place, away from crowded downtown. Good if you have business close to Myanmar Plaza or Inya Lake. And if you're an expat considering the Golden Valley area for housing, this hotel is right for you. Deluxe rooms are spacious, with bathtubs. There are bigger rooms available too. There is an elevator that services the 5-storey building. The con: breakfast start later than most hotels, 7am, though packed breakfast can be requested the night before.

Look no further for this price, stay here”
I stayed here 2 nites. The room is big, and bright, with good lighting. Place to put yr suitcase, cupboard to hang yr clothes, and space if you need to work. It has a bathtub. The bed is one of the best hotel beds I came across. Place is quiet. Breakfast is so-so for a vegetarian. But you can go to Yangon Bakehouse which is nearby and have a good vegetarian breakfast and a good coffee. For this price look no further, and stay here.

Good for Yangon University ”
Great little hotel. Rooms were top-notch. A bit far from central downtown but great for Yangon University. Only issue was no cheap eats or food stores within walking distance.

Great hotel located in a slightly inside location”
The staff of this hotel was very helpful and friendly. We had a very early check-in (0630) which they accommodated with a small surcharge (15,000 kyat). When they saw that I had a foot injury and problems walking, the staff immediately ran and got me a ground floor room without asking. They also had some delicious room service. The room was big, clean, and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The only thing was the hotel is located at the end of this street that can only fit one car at a time. But during my stay there, all my taxis were able to navigate this smoothly. Thank you for all your help during our stay and keep up the good work :)

Worth for money”
First night, I got room on basement, could not see view outside window. After my request, they put me on the 5th floor on 2nd night so I was happy to see surrounding area which is nice & quite. Rooms were big, spacious & comfy beds. Receptionists speak decent English and all staff were very helpful. Good choices of breakfast and testy:) Location is not very far to walk to the road and easy to tell taxi as it is in between US embassy & Aung San Suu Kyi 's house. I will stay here again on my next trip to Yangon.

It was quite good ”
Their breakfast was good, and room service food was good as well. It’s expensive compared to local cafes but quite good quantity and taste good, so satisfying. But they mistook our orders a few times and didn’t have change often. So we had to ask them to return our change next morning. The location of the hotel is also nice, walking distance to Myanmar Plaza and a few bus stops to Hledan Market. And it’s located to the end of street, it is quiet mostly. Unfortunately we stayed around New Year Day so only on the New Year’s Eve was so noisy because of neighbors party. And they gave us fine wine on Christmas and that turned to nice introduction to Myanmar wine which we didn’t expect that tasty! We liked the wine very much so we bought one more bottle by ourselves. we advise you to ask hotel staff how to use shower, otherwise you might get burned. And one more mystery about hotel was, we didn’t have a bath mat for first few nights, but suddenly it was placed one day. But the bath mat was dirty with dust and hair, and placed in front of bathtub. We didn’t use it but next day again another dirty bath mat was placed. We didn’t complain about it as we felt it might have been their best. We were puzzled but enjoyed such cultural differences. And the cleaning itself was good, they did great job on house keeping. There were some “mysterious” things, but after all we just enjoyed the stay at this hotel and liked all the staffs. We will book this hotel again if we have an opportunity to come back to Myanmar.

Exceptional”
Easier to go in the hotel by car which wasn't a problem. (The entrance in to the hotel is surrounded by a few private estates which arms their gate with CCTV cameras which made me feel safe while walking in at night) Staff were friendly and nice. Only around 2km away from the mall. Wi-fi connection was rather bad in the basement floor though. (Room 103) Got switched to room 106 and it was way better.

Well located and clean”
good compromise for Yangon, the hotel is a bit far from the main road especially if it rains but the hotel staff is always keen to get you a cab. Staff is friendly but not really reliable, be simple in your requests... My room was huge and clean, the area is quiet, I would go back again.

Amazing Stay”
Definitely highly recommended. Rooms were huge and clean (granted we got a free upgrade). Location of the hotel was also away from all the hustle of the city but near enough to all the famous attractions (by car). Breakfast was decent as well.

Great value for the price”
Very helpful staff, great tranquil location next to the U.S. and Korean embassies, short walk to Kabar Ayer Pagoda street. Good selection for breakfast. Large room, exceptionally comfortable bed, quiet AC. If you care for a better view from the window ask for an upper floor. The neighborhood is dence with fences around houses with most windows facing walls.
