Shangri La defines Perfection”

There are a good number of top quality, 5-star, hotels in Singapore. However, if one had to pick the top one then it would, imho, be the Shangri La. For my stay on this occasion, everything was perfect. The staff were not only helpful, they went out of their way to deliver service beyond what one would expect. The room was spotlessly clean and every attention to detail provided for. The Christmas decorations were splendid. When world leaders come to Singapore they usually stay here and it is easy to see why. I usually take a holiday to Hong Kong in December and stay at the Island Shangri La (imho the best city hotel in Asia) but this year, with the troubles, I chose Singapore instead. If I had one item on my wish list (for Shangri La Singapore), it would be for a venue like the Lobster Bar and Grill to be added (which has a great vibe to it at Island Shangri La)

This hotel gives Decadent a whole new meaning!”

Location, Service, Food & Beverages, Helpful Friendly Staff, Great Rooms

when we arrived at shangri-la we weren't really expecting anything too over the top as we had not heard much about the hotel or hotel chain before. the check-in service was fast and very smooth. we went to find the room but had a little trouble, so we asked one of the staff if he could help. he took us to our door and made sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. it was only after calling the reception to ask about the horizon club benifits and the location of the club lounge, that we found out our room was upgraded to valley wing deluxe. from the point we were made feel so special by the staff in the valley wing. the complimentary breakfast, the hor dourves and beverages are amazing. valley wing at shangri-la serve the best singapore sling, much better than any others i have tried. the rooms are very comfortable nice big bed, electronic everything, high-tech entertainment system, mood lighting and very clean. shangri-la has definatly taken the crown for best hotel in singapore in my books and that is out of alot of heavy hitting luxury hotels.

Beautiful hotel, great amenities, super service
food and drinks extremely expensive

The Shangri-la Hotel in Singapore is absolutely beautiful, large and well appointed. Our room was very comfortable and clean and we were very pleased to have a lovely balcony where we could sit and relax with a glass of wine after a busy day touring the city. The lobby of the hotel is impressive and reminds one of days gone by when beauty and grace was more often on display. The service was top notch from the moment you step out of the car in the driveway. In addition, all staff is courteous and dressed to the nines. The location was perfect for us with a short walk to the major shopping district on Orchard Road. The only draw-back from our point of view was the price of food and drink in the hotel, but we did not let that take away from the fine experience we had at the Shangri-la.

Upon arrival, the charismatic doorman was quick to greet us and assisted us with our heavy double stroller. Check-in was a breeze with an affable guest officer named Shawn. In fact, we encountered top notch service from every staff at Shangri La Singapore. The facilities were excellent - bedroom was tastefully designed and spacious. Twin daughters loved to play at the cosy daybed with a fantastic skyline view (by Singapore's standard). Daybed was easily converted into their bed at night. We had loads of fun at the swimming pool - appreciated the kids pool and warm jacuzzi. Very visible indicators of different pool depths - good for a cautious patron like me! In-room dining breakfast was fuss-free, tasty and adequate. Looking forward to the launch of the Buds club. We will definitely return to continue making lovely memories at Shangri La. fantastic hotel”

comfort & service

I always come back to the Shangri La whenever I visit Singapore. Its like coming home. The service at the Shangri La is impeccable, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable and getting in and out of the hotel is easy. There is also a shuttle that takes one out of the hotel to main shopping areas at very close frequency. Its a value for money hotel and I would highly recommend it to anybody both for business and for holidays if one can afford it.

Truly a staycation”

Went with hubby and two children (aged 3+ and 1+), for a night's stay. Read up several reviews and decided to go with Shangri-la as many reviewed their stay at Shangri-la to be a true staycation, which I agree so too! It is a kids friendly hotel - welcome pack given to kiddos consisting of coloring book + coloring pencil, cookies, masks. Baby cot, baby bed, kids step-stool, kids bathroom shoes, all available at request. The deluxe room is rather big and there were space for 4 of us to move around. Loved our time there!

Superb Hotel”

The staff were friendly and knowledgable, the location was great and the food in the restaurant was superb.

We couldn't fault the hotel, it was one of the best we have stayed in. Our room had fantastic views overlooking the river, the staff were friendly and helpful and very professional. The only problem we had was water dripping from the ceiling in the bedroom due to the air conditioning which caused a wet carpet. However the staff were very quick to sort it out and we could have changed rooms but loved the position of the room. We had one of their magnificent buffets one evening which was excellent. We would definately return and went onto stay at the Shangri-La in Singapore which was equally as good.

Shangri-La heaven”

Ticked all the boxes of a 5 star establishment. Plus very central location, good lunch buffet and a pretty pool with lots of plant/wildlife.

Our stay at the Shangri-La was a dream from start to finish. Only booked the day before our arrival but our room in the Garden Wing was ready when we arrived at 9 am with two small tired children in tow. We were also allowed to keep the room until 5 pm on day of departure - again to give our baby a sleep before the flight, at no extra charge. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was extremely comfy. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and efficient and a return visit is our no.1 priority. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the main shopping area of Orchard Road and Little India, Chinatown and Arab Street each all less than a S$10 taxi ride away.

We went to Singapore with our 3year old daughter for our Chinese New Year Holiday. We had a great stay at the hotel! The overall experience is wonderful, the staff are very helpful. They are very detail oriented. We were contacted by the hotel before our arrive date to make sure all of out special needs are met. I asked them to provide a bottle sterilizer and a stepping stool for my daughter. When we arrived at the room, the botther sterilizer was just washed very clean and new and the stool is ready in our bathroom! Also, because my duaghter can't really stay in heat, sleeps quite early, so we couldn't really go to those outdoor food centers for all those great singapore food. So we asked the Concierge for a special request for them to run down to Newton Food Center for us to buy some nice food back for us. They did not take any extra charge from us, instead, they only asked us to pay for the taxi fee and what we ordered. We really loved that! So we were able to enjoy our chilli crab in our hotel room at night! Oh, also, they cusomter service also offered us if we would like to go to sentosa's new casino, they have babysitters available too to look after our little girl! Which this was not listed in the hotel service in Shangri-la's website. So, greatly recommend for those families who has young toddlers and can't run out at night or in the afternoon as freely as we would like to. These people can be freat help for you!

Fantastic service”

The rooms are comfortable, the staff amiable and attentive, and the hotel amenities of a high standard

We were automatically upgraded to a garden room, which was much larger than the one we had booked. There was a misunderstanding with my Agoda booking - I had inadvertently booked for one person rather than two and the hotel was asking me to pay 40 dollars more per night for the room. I rang Agoda to try to sort it out and got no help so I went downstairs to talk to the staff at the front desk. They were wonderfully helpful and we came to a compromise whereby we paid for our breakfast, but no increase in room costs and all was sorted out amiably. I couldn't have been happier with the way we were treated. The hotel was wonderful and the staff helpful and very nice to deal with. The room was comfortable and spacious. Thank you Shangri-la for a very enjoyable stay.

The Shangri La is a very classy and comfortable hotel I was in the Valley Wing and everything about it is like being at home. The bed is inviting, the decor flawless, the food excellent and there is a free flow of excellent champgne throughout the afternoon. The hotel is not far from the shopping street of Orchard Road and there is a free shuttle running between hotel and Orchard every 20 minutes or so. I will definitely stay in the hotel again on my next trip.

Most Pleasing”

I have travelled and explored extensively throughout South East Asia with my family over the last 15 years. We have stayed in many Hotels and some hovels boasting to be Hotels. But, the stay at the Shangri-la has been by far the best I have ever encountered. From the minute we walked through the doors I got the feeling that we were part of the family. So much so I have planned a return stay in April 2008. The room was breathtaking only to be complemented by the view from the windows over looking Singapore.

Great and Comfortable Hotel”

Good Location, Good Services, Great Attention to Details

The stay was pleasant and enjoyable. You feel save and well looked after at the hotel. The facilities are newly renovated which provides a sense of modern luxury, yet remaining the oriental touch. The staff are great and helpful, it shows great training from the hotel and the factor of getting the right people to work for them. Shangri-La Singapore Hotel is a hotel that I would recommend to my friends.

An Oasis in Singapore”

Pool and health club were great as were the rooms.

The Shangri-la Singapore is an oasis in the city. The hotel is immaculately maintained and the staff is very helpful. I needed a late check out due to my return flight and they let me stay in the room until 3:00 at no additional charge. My room, was a bit on the small side but very well appointed and had a great view of the park across from the main entrance.

We want to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the staff at Shangri-la Singapore. Our stay was one of the best experience we've had, especially all the support the staff provided. We stayed on the 21 st floor room 2108 (Horizon Club Level), and alternated our breakfast selection from the First floor buffet, and the breakfast served on the 24 th floor Horizon club, both provided some of the best food available.

Beautiful, grand hotel”

As usual, Shangri - La makes us feel welcome every time we stay at their hotel. This time, we upgraded to their suite, which includes a HUGE outdoor patio, inclusive of a private hot jacuzzi tub, BBQ Pit, lots of outdoor seating area. Inside, there was a kitchenette, living area & a big bedroom with a walk in closet. We were not aware that their Main lobby was under renovation at the time we stayed there. It could be my mistake as I may had missed the fine print. But it was disappointing. The Main lobby was beautiful & we were there hoping to immerse in the feeling of their hotel lobby especially for Lunar New Year. Anyway, besides this, Shangri-la staff & service are great & we would love to go back again. One thing, for the suite that we had gotten, it would have been nice to have complimentary mini bar thou.
