Great spot!”
Amazing! View from room upon arrival put an immediate smile on our face. Stunning. Secure ski & boot lockers in hotel lobby. Ski rental in hotel lobby. 50m from hotel lobby door to Gondola to top of the mountain. Oh my, is this set up well or what?! Great ski runs from our gondola. Bus at night to take use to town for a feed. Breakfast buffet was used once. It was great but pricey as we didn't get it as package deal with room. Bus arrived from Snow Monkeys (or Nagano) just in front of hotel and bus to Nagano left from across the street. Great deal and on our list of places to return to. Staff were very helpful in all matters.

Fantastic location right on the slopes! Had an awesome time. ”
Really can’t say enough what a great spot for a ski holiday. Reasonably priced and with a chair lift at your front door. The staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly as well. The only thing I could find fault with is that the beds are hard as a rock.

Wonderful hotel, perfectly situated with the most lovely staff.”
My children and I had the best experience at Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel. The only drawback was the lack of dining choices and the exorbitantly priced dinner buffet when you are faced with very few options.

Love the hotel”
Great location for those who plan to ski. With discount in ski resort and ski rental. With all the essential facilities. Restaurants serve good food. Will definitely book this hotel again when I go back to Shiga Kogen.

Amazing view of the slope in the room with ski lift in the hotel”
Nice ski resort that can keep you busy for a good day or two. Very convenient, the gear rental and the ski lift are right in the hotel (south building). The view in the room was amazing right into the slope. The hotel is a bit worn out but great for the price. There is no little village around so not much choice of restaurant aside the hotel’s one. The only thing missing is an onsen. Nice staff.

Ski-in ski-out location”
Our room on the 4th floor in the South wing was very comfortable. We had an excellent view of the snow hillside from our window. Staff was helpful and friendly. There are ski lockers on the ground floor for each room. We used the hotel shuttle to get into the village for dinner each night. Gondola #2 starts at the South wing and we could also ski right back to the hotel each day.

Calm and relaxing ”
Stayed in an old building. Was really nice. Hot tub after skiing was just magical. Lost my room key. All the staff really tried to help me to find it. After all payed 300$ for it. Buffet is pricey (~80$ per person).

Enjoyable stay in Shiga Kogen”
We really enjoyed our stay at the Prince Hotel. A lot of comments about the cost of food worried us but there were plenty of buses to get us in to town - we had a great time. The only slight inconveniences were that in the south building, there were only single beds, there isn’t housekeeping everyday and the onsen is in the west building (10 minute walk, so not too far). But none of this ruined our great stay at Prince!

Good location”
I was surprised with this hotel when I reached there. Not as bad as I thought it was because I read there’s a lot of negative review about it. I stayed in the West Wing hotel. It was better as it’s nearer to Ichinose (1 bus stop away will be the night ski area, 2 bus stops away will be the food central). The rooms are decent. Hotel staffs are friendly. I did not try any food in the hotel so I can’t rate it. The ski lift is conveniently located just outside the hotel. There’s a convenient store in the hotel that closed at 9:30pm, just in time if u want to grab some essentials or tidbits after the night ski. The ski rental shop and the ski lockers are conveniently located in the hotel. There’s an Onsen but I did not try it. The only negative thing and I will Prince Hotel will improve on, is the heater in the room. Hopefully it can be tuned warmer and allow hangers to hang our ski jacket and pants over it to dry. Else, everything is fine. Will return to the same hotel again.

Great Location, Great Outdoor Bath, Food Averagg”
The Prince West wing is in a great location, ski in and ski out, and not far to ski across to neighboring resorts. The rooms were nice and clean and the outdoor public bath was very nice as it was surrounded by snow. The restaurant buffet in the evening was extremely average, most of the food was very bland cheap food, and wasn't very hot. I would venture out form the hotel to some other restaurants for dinner.

Exceptional”
Ideal location at the West Prince, easy walk to Ichinose for some rather limited dining options as meals at Prince are way overpriced. We bought early bird rooms without meals so cost was kept reasonable, but location of hotel is excellent for ski in ski out

Ski-in/out, bus stop in front, biggest resort in Shiga Kogen, discounted tickets”
As per title. Only downsides: washer available but no dryer, dinner pricing is crazy expensive (JPY 5k). Otherwise a good choice. Hotel not new but well maintained, and right next to Ichinose lift so it is easy to go to other resorts too.

Can't get closer”
I was a solo traveler. It was a comfortable room if not a little dated . I turned off the heater and opened the window for the entire time as the room was a bit warm. Staff were excellent with enough english to attend to any request. Proximity to the lifts was outstanding. The hotel is a little isolated, so access to dining options other than the hotel buffet takes some effort, however there is a free shuttle to local village. Buffet had plenty of choice but was pricey for what was available - once again isolated. Overall and on balance I would be happy to return to the Prince Hotels and know that they offer a great snow experience.

Three day weekend skiing”
This was my first trip to Prince Shiga Kogen. It was on par with what I've experienced in Prince hotels. Location is the selling point, with ski in/ski out access to the whole valley. You don't go to Prince Shiga for a luxurious resort accommodation and hearty apres ski scene. You go to ski.

Excellent”
Great location, ski in ski out. The rooms are large by Japanese standards. The only negative is that the breakfast and evening meals are too expensive, especially if you are staying for a long time. The lunch menu is varied and affordable. However there are now a few places to eat of a night in Ichinose.

Great 3 night stay”
Ideal location, friendly staff with sufficient English. Comfortable room, and very well priced. Not a lot of nightlife but a beer a bath and a reasonably priced bowl of ramen suited me after a day of shredding the powder. Won’t suit everybody but it certainly suited me. I’ll be back!
