the hotel is ehh but the staff at this particular hotel were amazing from the moment i checked in they wanted me to feel safe and happy not just one or 2 of the team but all of the staff from the housekeepers to the front desk to the manager all were wonderful with all my needs i tend to be picky i loved the breakfast areia even though no breakfast was served it was great to relax in after a long day Thank you so much Simms garden hotel for going above and beyond you are Amazing

Good basic hotel”

Notice many bad reviews on the hotel, but bear in mind this is a very basic and budget hotel. The price paid is almost equivalent to those bunk bed in dormitory hotel. Aircon is super cold and water pressure is fantastic to have a good bath. Of all, the location is superb

Lack of basic facilities in room”

As of now, I will NOT recommend to anyone i know to come to this hotel. a) Room do not have sufficient hanger to hang cloth ( have one hook only behind the door); i have been to other hotel of similar std and rate, they have the long cloth hanger which have many hooks. guest can hang several cloths behind the door) b) No cup and heater in the room ( i have been to other hotel of similar std and rate, both items are available in the room) c) There is no bar to hang tower ( i have been to other hotel of similar std and a rate, they have at least one bar to hang tower, some have two bar in the bath room). There are two hook in the bath room but that is not suitable to hang tower especially if guest stay for several days and the hotel do not change the tower daily. d) Recommend to put cups at the drink dispenser - guest not able to make use of the drink dispenser without cup, especially hot water... I will come again in Feb and expect those items are available by then. I will recommend.

Worst stay ever!”

Came here at 10 AM to drop my luggage at the reception because there’s no room available yet then when I came back at 2 PM, they said there’s no room type as I booked here through Agoda!! I wait for an hour to get the replacement! That is super silly! First the reception said that I should contact Agoda for hotel transfer! Hello Agoda?? Hello Simms Garden??? Are you guys for real?? Turns out I get 2 separate rooms after rough discussion with the reception. Air-con isn’t functioning well. Toilet flush doesn’t work well either!!! WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS HOTEL! Ever!

Excellent Location”

This hotel located in the middle of china town, very convenient, behind of the hotel there is third party open space car park, please call the hotel on how to get to the car park if needed. the room is no window, and no tv. however, still ok for us as we just need to rest there. As mentioned by others in earlier review, the bed sheet got white spot will stick on the cloths. We booked deluxe double bed online, when arrived there, the receptionist told us that the deluxe double bed room is not available due to renovation and they gave us standard twin room, however, there is no reduce of room charges even they downgrade us, still charging us deluxe double bedroom price.

But itu aircond mah, selalu panas oh. 2x tukar bilik. first room, the a/c wasn't so cool, but i manage. second room from second booking, the room ah, room was so damn hot weh. also no windows. room with no windows at all should definitely have a functioning aircon. so please look into that hotel peeps. also my shampoo kena tapaw oleh housekeeping staff huhu

Location is just perfect...front door if you want to go to Petaling street market..and back door to the wet market.Very close to LRT ,MRT station. AC is cold only elevator need to be refurbished. Overall price worth it.

The best in the hotel are the friendly staff, don't expect fantasy Hotel, it is in China Town and you can consider it cheap and has private room to sleep better than Hostel if you care about privacy.

Worst budget hotel experience”

Worst experience ever of staying at a hotel. Through Agoda, Simms Garden Hotel seemed to look like a descent budget hotel, however it turned out to be the worst nightmare. Entrance lobby was flooded with water which cause is unknown, receptionist was nice. Lift was damaged. Facilities such as lobby sofa is torn and shabby. Rooms were such a rundown. Changed room 3 times due to A/C not functioning and an overleaking WC, changed room and to my dismay, found a condom in the WC. Slept at 430 am woke up at 7 am and to my horror, the room opposite door was open ajar with bloodstained pillow and walls which looked really fresh, story cut short, the receptionist told me an old uncle was robbed. yes, readers might say it's my fault for booking such a cheap budget hotel but I remember i booked a hotel at Indian Street at quite the similar price via AGODA too, and it was awesome, who knows this hotel so shady, anyway maybe it's due to its location at Petaling Street.

No redeeming features”

We stayed at Simms for 8 days. The location is really the only good thing about this place. The room looked as advertised (standard double,) though dirty and kinda falling apart. The a/c worked, though the TV did not have cable as stated, and the picture quality was awful. There was no free water as stated, no laundry service as stated, no room service, bar, garden, or really anything they claimed to have. Upon requesting our room be cleaned after 3 days, we were told we had to change rooms as there was a water issue in ours. No problem, we were handed the keys to another room which was uncleaned - no sheets on the bed, a bucket in the corner, rubbish and dust all over the floor, and smelt liked cigarettes. We went back and told the front desk, who gave us another room (supposedly an upgrade as it had a window) which was considerably worse than the one we initially had (ironically.) Overall, the hotel itself was less than desirable, and the staff did not care about anything.

a truly budget hotel for a budget traveller”

A staff is very nice. With such a cheap price, I will say that I will not expect standards up to such a mark. It is truly a budget hotel recommended for a budget traveller.

Needs revamping & renovation, but economic for tourist. ”

Pictures can be convincing to look at but its not what it seems. This place seriously needs a proper renovation. The lift is slow and stuffy, so going down the G-floor to get water can be a hassle. The room 210 I chose has a shaky bed leg and later on I even found bed bugs crawling. Bed is comfy and looks clean so far. Even though air conditioning is old, but works well. There is no kettle nor mugs provided to brew hot beverages, so you will need your own tools. As for the bathroom, its really small and not ergonomic for pooping. Claustrophobics be warned. The soap dispenser is clogged and the sink looks like its going to fall off. Location wise is pretty good. Its right in the middle of Chinatown and Petaling street where you can access street food, crafts and LRT station within walking distance. I avoided choosing the room with windows (407) because i can hear rat squeaking noises.

Exceptional”

Very good location close to Lrt, mrt, buses and restaurants. One stop lrt ride to KL central and free ride to Bukit Bintang. Room is clean, Staffs are so helpful and friendly.

Location is best ”

Pros: Location is more convenient. In China town. Room space still considered okay. Cons: Hotel behind had private car park, but need to pay. Room not enough clean, the floor had hair. Room inside just had only 1 hanger, another is damage. TV not provide remote control. The bed is very bad. Room inside had desk, but don't had any chair. The bathroom design is terrible. When shower the toilet tissues will be wet.

Was nice, cheap and value for money is beyond okay. The only thing I didn’t like was they charged me extra 10 ringgit for overstaying an hour. I arrived at 5am the next day of my supposed check in and was told I can check out at 1pm with no extra charge since I came only the next day and voila! The receptionist still insisted I paid 10rinngit for overstaying and argued that the guy who told me I wont be charged will be leaving to Sri Lanka and it was his last day. Thats not even related. Lol

Good price, but the hotel is new and not quite ready for guest”

Room rate are affordable, unfortunately due to the place is new which we are not aware of when we booked the room, the place is not quite ready for guest. The lift almost shut on me and my partner and we had to run in to the lift quickly, sometimes the lift not working at all we had to call someone from mobile phone to check the lift so we could go down and luckily we have international number even we are in the country only for few days. Sometimes toilet has not water we had to go down to the reception and they fix within about 20 mins. Overall they deserved some stars as they are still making the effort to fix things asap

The room was fairly dilapidated and yet it was comfortable enough. I had to go downstairs to ask for my towel. The price was possibly the cheapest in town for the private room with toilet and shower in central location..
