The location is great. Grocery store is 100meters away. Bus/tram/metro is short walk away. City bike station also perfectly close. View was stunning. The softest bedsheets and towels I've ever used anywhere. Shower was spacious and clean. I loved that one of the windows opened, i love cool air to sleep in.

The kitchen was sticky dirty, people do their dishes but no one has properly cleaned the kitchen in ages, did not want to use it. There is no microwave but there was a mini grill oven that doesn't work due to missing time button. There was a coffee machine (bring your own grounds) and fridge in the room (no microwave or kettle in my room). Fridge was disconnected from the wall and door had been closed for a long time and when i opened it it stank like someone had died in it. The floor was not cleaned, stepped on two gravel pieces in first 10 minutes (i go shoeless in the room). One of the pillows in my room was sofa decorative pillow(square), not good for sleeping at all. The toilet paper is the kind that makes you think of sandpaper.

Hostel decayed comparing to 2018, when I was there before. Rooms have the smoke smell, people have found ways to smoke there without getting caught. Furniture in my room had the signs of rot. WCs are not that clear anymore.

The location was quite good, although the building in which the hostel is in didn't look great. You can borrow some board games, which was quite nice.

The room was quite dirty and we needed to prepare the beds for ourselves. There was no real room to sit down in a group of 7 people and talk, not to mention meeting other people accommodated there. This would all be fine, but the worst experience was that the one of us forgot the jacket with his wallet in a small room with the cardboard games, where we were having breakfast together. After approx. half an hour we went there to get the jacket back, but it was gone. Fortunately, we had an GPS device in friend's wallet, by which we were able to track it down. We realised it's still on the floor where the hostel is. The only person we saw there at the time was a lady who was cleaning the rooms, so we decided to ask her, if she hasn't seen the jacket somewhere or maybe took somewhere. She refused to talked to us and said she didn't see it (we could tell that she probably doesn't speak english very well). After a while we tracked down the location of the wallet to a single "stuff-only room" from which we saw the cleaning lady leave. I, personally, said that we know the jacket's there and if she refuses to give it to us, I will call the police. She went in, closing the door right in front of my face and gave us the jacket back. All would be fine, as we thought that she might have misunderstood us, but she was very stressed out and nervous. Also, after obtaining the jacket, there was no cash inside, and the money were placed loose into a pocket. The 50 euro bill was missing, but as it was our last day and we wanted to enjoy it, we decided not to cause any troubles for such a small amount. Of course, after that experience we decided to hide our belongings and this is where we realised the room is not cleaned very well. Overall, not the good experience, especially not for a country like Finland.

Price for location and cleanliness

Explanation of how to get to the hostel (where exactly it is), and the upkeep of at least the restroom was a bit low (light was broken and no paper towels plus only one toilet and sink for multiple rooms (it seemed, sorry if I'm mistaken)

The rooms were well equipped.

NObody ever on the premises, no host, no receptionist. Common area very small, not inducive to a social life. I would not reccomend this hostel to a traveler.

The property has potential close to the city by public transport other that that it’s a 25 minute walk max.

Very close to the city centre, nice view! After complaint, the owner reached out to us very quickly and got us another room the day after - clean one.

We got an extremely dirty room - the matresses were stained, multiple hairs on sheets. we had to put the bedsheets ourselves. We could bot open a window nor open the blinds. In the kitchen, there was no sponge and instead of dish soap there was bleach/stain remover, therefore we were not able to wash the cutlery and plates, which were also dirty.

There is nothing good to mention, except the price, if I compare with other accomodations in Helsinki.

This was the worst Hostel I have ever visited. I am wondering how they could still be open. The room I booked was not clean, you could see hair from previous guesst everywhere, not to mention the smell, bed linen were more yellow than white and plates, glasses and cutlery were not clean at all. Kitchen is too small, smells horrible and all kitchenware looks disgusting. What is concerned about shower and toillet is the same story; I have my fingers crossed that we didn't catch any diseases while we stayed there.

I basically didn't like anything about this place.

Everything. No reception, no id check, you get your room number and the code by SMS after booking and that's all, it didn't feel secure at all. The room was dirty and dusty, it was smelling someone's body. The beds and pillows are extremely used, full of stains and all kinds of body smells, they should go to trash ! I've never seen such a horror in my life. The sheets and pillows covers (supposed to be clean) were put together with the towels, so we had to make the beds ourselves, that human body smell was very very strong and disturbing and just spreading whenever you touch something in the room. There were extra grey covers that they obviously don't wash after use, smelling sweat and human body as well... We couldn't open the windows to get some fresh air. There was a super duper disturbing and annoying pipe noise that literally didn't let us sleep, and when I contacted the hostel they said there is nothing to do about it and that it might stop from time to time, it didn't. The insolation is extremely bad so you can hear every little sound coming from other rooms or the halls. The windows had no curtains... The toilet was also dusty with a broken seat, I almost fell because that horror just flips whenever you put your a** on it, fungus everywhere in the bathroom... Honestly, it doesn't even deserve 10 EUR, we paid 50.... As a bonus, the dust in the room triggered my allergy, we basically just waited for the morning and left that place as soon as we could. There are several places around for the same budget that are very clean, comfy and very quiet if you're looking for a place to sleep in around the centrer of Helsinki, we just wanted to try a different hostel that time and this was what we got. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY.

The price as Helsinki is a very expensive city and most of the other hotels were very expensive, even the basic options.

The location was OK I suppose. A bit outside of the City Centre but walkable if you're fit and enjoy walking (which I am both) and I appreciate that I knew in advance about the shared bathrooms which was understandable as it was a Hostel however what I didn't like (to the point I was infuriated actually) was that the bed wasn't made up - it was a dirty mattress, an even dirtier mattress protector and a very small pillow - all of which smelled really bad - they smelled like someone who refused to wash had slept there previous to me. When I entered the very small room I could smell the body odour from the previous guest in both the lingering (small amount) of air and off the dirty bed. It was so bad I could barely sleep. Maybe if I could have even opened the window this might have helped a little - but alas, I couldn't do that either. It was also very difficult to find this Hostel. It was in the middle of a Housing Estate and located in an Office building with just next to no indication it was the Hostel. I had to get a local to find it for me after about half a dozen told me they couldn't help. I was in the vicinity for hours looking trying to find it. I am never one to write a bad review or complain but that was seriously out of order which is a shame as Helsinki is a city I plan on returning to and I don't think I'd stay here again due to this.
