Great stay”

Sofitel So. is a stylish hotel that offers great service. Sometimes style takes precedence over function though. For example, the lobby is on the 9th floor and you have to go up one set of elevators to the lobby, and then another set of elevators to the room. This gets annoying. I realised they did this because the pool is on the 10th floor and they couldn't run the elevator shafts through it. Speaking of the pool, it's the most beautiful infinity pool I've used. It has a spectacular view of Bangkok that is unobstructed. My only complaint was that the water was freezing. It was so cold that no one swam more than 5 minutes. I was told it feels good in hot Bangkok weather, but it was a pleasant 80 degrees when I was there and the pool was too cold. They should consider heating it. The rooms are also stylish in whites and grays and chrome. They have large floor to ceiling windows and my room had a built in lounging area that was very comfortable. The TV is super hi-tech and allows you to stream data from your computer to the TV. Very cool. The bathrooms are al marble and glass with great rain showers. Being the Sofitel, prices are rather expensive for food. A simple breakfast for two cost $50 dollars. In Bangkok this price is exorbitant. But what do you expect in a 5 star hotel? The staff are very friendly, slightly eccentric, and very helpful. They are a phone call away. The hotel is located at the top of Sathorn Rd. It's close to the MRT and about a 10 minute walk from Soi 4 - a large bar district. It's a bit far from the BTS station, but not horrible. It's just in Bangkok heat, you may not want to walk that far.

Sofitel So is So Super ”

i am a frequent traveler, but first time in bangkok, so great i had to write a review, i mainly booked the hotel because when i called to inquire (after calling many hotels) i was assisted by Mr. Tim, and he was extremely helpful, professional and very joyful, the rooms are great and (rain shower is a wonder!), location is great, for me i wanted something aways from loud areas, but then again it is only a 10 minutes drive to et to important areas...great food and prompt room service, and oh the house keeping and how dedicated the work is in cleaning the rooms, the bed is as described and better, the pillows and its types are superb for amazing sleeping quality, pool parties that make your day, roof top is unbelievably romantic and magical, the TV has everything you need from channels to internet to tips to shopping form the hotel or outside...espresso machine makes your morning delightful, i can go on and on about the little but important things there, but im trying to keep it simple...check in was only five minutes! check out was only 3 minutes! even if there other people, its the hotel that knows how to ease the work flow. the best part is that i felt i was taken care of, really. I ran into the staff there and boy O boy AMAZING people, Ms.Layla, Mr. X, Ms. Vivena and Mr. K and Ms. Niki and ALL the others, Ms. Layla, Mr. Tim and Ms. Vivena spent a lot of time helping me to get around and giving me great tips and information and made my stay joyful and superb, i expected my trip to be great, but it was more than super amazing, i noticed that smiles are every where, even the guests are happy! it shows to say that the hotel has a good atmosphere and people are happy there, i really thank and love Sofitel So for the wonderful time and will surely, always go there, you only need to try it, once you see SO, you will always GO... thank you from the bottom of my heart, Pom chob krung thep kap!

Great hotel in Bangkok”

If you want a superb hotel, located as good as it can be in the heart of Bangkok then this is the pace for you. So Sofitel is the younger, stay out late sister to the Sofitel in Bangkok (there are more than one so always carry the name card with you!) But don't let my quips distract you. This is a great hotel and in my opinion one of the best in Bangkok. Great staff who go out of their way to help, hip decor and great rooms. If you are going to Bangkok, entering a room here will set you up well for the rest of what this city has to offer. 5 Stars.

Excellent stay”

It was a very nice stay. The hotel is very close to Lumprini MRT but as it was blocked by another building, it may take you a while to see where it is. We were offered a welcoming drink while checking in and everything was done smoothly. Staff are well trained. Room was spacious with a good view, exactly the same as shown in the photos. Room was clean with amenities of good quality. Equipped with Apple TV so we can also play the music from our iPhone. We ordered in-room dining, the Tom Kha and Pad Thai were both great. We were also given access to the pool side party held that day and were offered a free cocktail. I particularly enjoyed the drink next to the pool, which we can take in the panoramic view of Bangkok. Overall a very satisfactory stay at Sofitel So.

Excellent customer service in club lounge”

The customer service in club lounge is excellent. Every time I entered the lounge, I always feel like back to home. The team always gave my warm welcome and care about whether my stay in Sofitel is comfortable. Specially thanks to Blue and Mook, they help me a lots during my stay and provide very professional service. I have been stayed in many top hotels around Asia for business trip. Blue and Mook are the best hotel team members I have ever met. I stayed one night in wood element room and the other night in water element. Water element room facing city is perfect. Very nice night skyline view and window bath design. However the wood element room is not so perfect for me. Cause the air conditioner is direct to my head when I in sleep. In summary, I will highly recommend So Sofitel Bangkok Hotel club room. It will definitely be the highlight of Bangkok trip.

Perfect for holidays in Bangkok”

It was such a wonderful experience staying in Sofitel So Bangkok. My first intention to stay there was just to change my mood from staying in my Condo in Bangkok but after checking in, I had to say that it another kind of experience in Bangkok. This hotel is decorated beautifully and purposefully. I was chilling and spending a good time there. In all, it is perfect for couples who seek romantic weekend together.

Staffs were very warm and welcoming. Excellent customer service and attentive. The restaurant and bar on rooftop were amazing, good food and amazing night view of bangkok. Massage was very professional and good value for money. All staffs spoke good english, definitely easier for travellers like myself who can't speak thai. Highly recommended. Might be slightly more expensive than other hotel.in the area but definitely worth the price. Strategic location with lumpini mrt across the street and 15 mins walk to silom or 50baht on taxi. I stayed im water element on 27th floor. View over lumpini park and part of the city was great. The room was equipped with electonic curtains and a giant tub which allow you to have a good view in your bath. The room was spacious but relatively, it made the tv seems bit on a smaller side if you want to watch tv from your bed. You get an apple tv in your room which makes it quite handy for airplay or streaming stuffs from your devices. However, I find that the room was not bright enough and there was no light control by bedside. So if you prefer brighter room. Metal element seems better ( cheaper but slightly smaller).

So relaxing”

I had high expectations of this hotel after staying already in many of the high class hotels in Bangkok previously. The staff did not disappoint nor did the hotel in location and designs. The hotel was a first to actually look better in real than from the promo photos!! I have never felt the urge to re-stay in the other high end hotels but I will be staying here again next time I am back in town. Every morning you can go for a run in the Park opposite, borrow a bike in the afternoon for free from the hotel to use in the park and then spend the evening doing a few laps of the large pool to relax perfect for "Reverse Triathlon" training lol

My favorite hotel in Bangkok.”

I live in Bangkok and I've stayed at many hotels here. Sofitel So is definitely one of my favorite. It's cool. It's modern. It's tasteful. Staff are super nice and gay-friendly. Beautiful infinity-edge pool with sweeping view. The monthly pool party is a lot of fun. The So Spa is fantastic - a must try. The bar has a excellent atmosphere and view. There are 4 different types of room with unique theme - I got the 'metal' room which had nice and clean design. Will try another element next time. Highly recommended.

Great hotel!”

First time trying SO Sofitel Bangkok after hearing good reviews, and well, it does live up to it's name. Smooth and great check in, well-greeted and warmly welcomed by the hotel staff Clement (hope I got his name right). Chose the Earth theme and was pleasantly surprised by how pretty the room is. All in all, a great stay! Will definitely return!

Magnifient hotel. Great views! Great service!”

We were lucky enough to be upgraded with our second stay here to the Water Element. The room was magnificent with excellent views and facilities. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping area of Bangkok, but close enough that it is only a very small taxi fare to get there or to any of the major attractions. We chose to have room service dining as we had an early departure the next morning. This is not something we would normally do but we were very happy with the meal, the service and the price. The pool area is also an excellent place to get away from busy Bangkok!

Exceptional”

We stayed in Club Studio room for 5 nights. We were very happy for the choice. We used to stay next to the river, e.g. the Peninsula or Mandarin Oriental, but their rooms are getting old and so we looked for somewhere newer and better value. I understand the So Sofitel wasn’t the newest hotel in Bangkok but the room has been keeping very good. Our Club Studio was spacious and very functional. Staff were very friendly, pool was spectacular, the access to the Club Signature for breakfast, tea and happy hour was great value for money.

Another fantastic stay at the Sofitel SO Bangkok!”

Another wonderful visit at Sofitel SO – Bangkok…Greeted by Mr. Paul Boonrungreung and checked right into our room after a cocktail in the Club Lounge. Club room was well appointed and had a view of Lumpini Park. During our stay the staff took care of every need or request. Food was wonderful and the service outstanding…for a special event, Paul made the arrangements for our private party at the “HI SO” bar and everything was taken of…all who attended (group of 10) were so impressed by the service and hospitality…Thanks for a wonderful stay Paul…we will be back and are looking forward to our next stay.

Top, we loved every hour in that hotel!”

My wife and I had to get away for a few days, Bangkok and the hotel booking was rather spontaneous. We were in for a very pleasant surprise! The room was great and the park view (and city skyline) was fantastic. We especially loved the layout and different parts to hang out in the hotel. From the Café at ground level to the mid-level bar and open space hang out to the spa/pool and top floor bar/restaurant area. The staff is super friendly and super helpful, thank you all for making our stay so great and we'd come back any time again! We can highly recommend this hotel, ขอบคุณ !

Top quality service”

We just stayed there for a couple nights, with a baby, and it was a really nice experience. I've been traveling to Bangkok for many years and it was the first time we stayed at Sofitel So. The experience was great, nice rooms, although in my opinion they need a new refurbishment. Excellent swimming pool with a great view. The breakfast is also great. The best feature of this property is the staff. Since our arrival to the check-out everything was perfect. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Bangkok again.

Perfekt end to a long journey”

We ended our two months of travel at the so sofitel in Bangkok and I would do it again if I get the possibility. The hotel is, as you expect from a 5* Hotel very clean, perfectly decorated and the staff very nice and helpful. The hotel smells scrumptious EVERYWHERE <3. Even if we arrived with ouor Backpacks and not the nicest clothes (as I said two months of travelling in Aisa :-P) we got a affectionate reception. We are looking forward to visit the So Sofitel again :)

the best stay”

It gave us the feel of relaxation from the moment we enter the hotel. The welcome drink is special, and the service is great. We added the package for trying the club benefit including breakfast, tea & cocktail session, which is a good choice for rest in the hotel. Hotel decor is very nice, the swimming pool and the rooftop bar are superb too. With just a few mins walk from railway station, we can enjoy a total different world of peace but still stay connected. It gave us the best vacation so far in bangkok.

Very nice hotel with good food”

I was fully satisfied during my stay in So Sofitel Bangkok Hotel. The hotel is brand new and well located. I was taken good care of from moment I walked in, including a welcome drink and a detailed presentation of the room's features. Food (Red Oven) was excellent. The pool is great and offers a beautiful view of Bangkok.

Comfortable stay with good value”

I have stayed in a number of 5-star hotels in Bangkok before (W, Sofitel So, St Regis, Sukhothai). In terms of luxury, Sofitel So would rank below these names but the difference is not big. Price tag however is much more affordable at Sofitel So. Other main highlights are its pool and breakfast/lunch offerings. Will stay again.

5 Star Hotel Superb and wonderful staycation”
