Friendly staff & modern boutique hotel”

Greeted by warm friendly staff. Great location! Located right in the middle of CBD area and RIGHT NEXT TO Lau Pa Sat. Many nearby eateries besides Lau Pa Sat. Short walk to Mrt station. The bed is fantastic and clean plus pillow menu. I probably had the best and most comfortable sleep in a long time at So Sofitel. The complimentary bar is a big plus! It is a little overpriced I feel..but I guess its standard Sg hotel rates. The only think I wasn't too comfortable with is the air-conditioning. It is freezing once you get to the room floors along the corridor. Perhaps, the management should look into adjusting to a more pleasant temperature.

Great hotel, awesome service ”

It was most certainly a great experience for me at Sofitel So Singapore. I was grinning from eye to eye from when I first step into the hotel all the way till checkout. The room was really comfortable, love the shower and shampoo selection. Breakfast was served in the most unique way possible, and did I mention the delectable spreads (Strawberry Banana, Mango Durian) and also the welcome snacks (Biscuits with Gula Melaka Kaya)? This is definitely a hotel that I am willing to come back whenever I can and also to experience the different themed rooms at the So Heritage and So Urban wings. Great job on the service standards and kudos to the staff who attended to my friends and I during our stay.

Very 'design' hotel, outstanding staff.”

All the staff at Sofitel Singapore we're great and I especially have to mention the French manager (Charlotte?) who was exceptional even amongst such a high standard: nothing is too much trouble for the staff here. As it has just opened it's a little quiet but no doubt this will change. The restaurant has an interesting Asian / Fusion menu and great offers at the bar. The pool and pool-lounging area is quite small but it rained when we were there so it didn't affect us. It is very 'design' which may appeal or put you off...but definitely makes for conversation. Our room was a little small but we expect this in old buildings which have been refurbished such as this. A place for couples etc rather than families with young children. Overall, strongly recommended.

Service at its personal Best”

Thank you Rashdee for the fantastic service with a beautifully spoken distinguished educated French accent grets me with a smile "can I do any for you sir" .. As I admire the sleek sophisticated foyer over looking the warm romantic table settings in the restaurant open as if you were in a French hotel movie set with a touch of Oriental Singaporean Boutique Hotel So Sofitel didn't disappoint I don't want this place to get too popular so I just say stay there when in Singapore I'll definely be back

Perfect stay! ”

The So Sofitel exceeded all expectations. This hotel was recommended by a friend and I would have no problem in doing so as well. The rooms are well equipped, spacious and has the most comfortable kings sized bed I've slept in for a while! Perfect location for wandering the sights of Singapore and has an amazing rooftop bar/pool for those that love the hotel life. Will definitely be back!

Heavenly atmosphere”

So Sofitel is classy, foreseen of all amenities and conveniences and the rooms are just exquisite - everything is automated (domotica driven by an ipad), classy french atmosphere and everything is in superb working condition. The bed is awesome - not very often have I had such a great time in the bed as I did in the So Sofitel - hard enough to provide good support, soft enough to make one feel extremely comfortable. Finally - the bathroom is really great and it comes with a hair-dryer that is of exceptional strenght, something very much appreciated by my better half.

Great location for a weekend staycay”

The CBD is nice and quiet during weekends, so this hotel is ideal if you don't want to deal with crowds. Love the high ceiling of the hotel room, which made the room feel so spacious. Lots of complimentary snacks and drinks in the minibar as well. The rooftop pool and bar are gorgeous and perfect for unwinding in the evening. There are a lot of good restaurants within walking distance at Telok Ayer and Club Street, or you can just hop downstairs to Lau Pa Sat for hawker food if you prefer. The buffet breakfast at the hotel's restaurant Xperience is a good-sized spread and is offered until 11am on weekends – perfect for late risers.

Staycation”

I actually live in Singapore but did a staycation at So Sofitel and it was great! The rooms are cozy, but they the beds are extremely comfortable and the amenities are worth it. The pool is a great place to just relax and the breakfast was a nice way to end our stay. I'll definitely be staying there again.

A funky, quirky and beautiful hotel”

A funky, quirky and beautiful hotel located in the CBD of Singapore. I was pretty amazed by the decoration of the hotel, simply amazing. It just let you feel that you are in a foreign country. The hotel was nice enough to allow me to check in early, as I wanted it to be a surprise for my girlfriend. Although the check in time was a little long, but the manager actually seated me at the couch and came to me for check in rather than queuing at the counter. A staff showed me to my room and explain the rooms at my level and the room. The room was beautiful and control by apple technology, pretty amazed by that. Unfortunately, the air-con in my room was spoiled and remain pretty warm, and I requested for the hotel staff to come to the room to take a look, and it took forever. Finally after waiting for almost half an hour, the floor manager called and offer us a change of room and a free upgrade to a heritage room. Well, that really makes up for the disappointment. The pool was nice, built in golden tiles. Overall it was a nice experience! As it was my girlfriend's birthday, the hotel was nice enough to offer her a surprise birthday cake, so wanna thank them for that! A little note for Singaporeans who plan to drive to this hotel, it stated carpark available in agoda website, but in fact the carpark doesn't exist, lucky I emailed them to ask or else I really don't know where to park my car.

Gaudy claimed luxury with disappointing results ”

I chose the So Sofitel based on its excellent location and appearance as a classic yet trendy hotel in a historic building. The experience was ok, but value was poor. Other comparably priced hotels which I have stayed at in the city are much better. Staff were great, but the facility is a re-purposed old style Singapore office building which makes it interesting but awkward. The lobby and restaurant layout a bit strange, but workable. The designers went over the top in their use of red and one of my clients who met me there for coffee commented. "this place has an air of modern Singapore bordello in its appointments". The rooftop pool bar area was nice and a great place to sit during the afternoon rains. The room designs was interesting but layout disappointing as they were small, narrow and poorly lit. One comment I made to staff when I checked out was that the art-deco desk chair without wheels was horribly scratching the wood floors. I won't stay here again.

Wonderful staff! Wonderful hotel!”

The hotel is funky, trendy and stylish. The food is fantastic. The locations is very close to the Marina Bay, the Gardens by the Bay and nightly food markets. The staff by far made our stay the most comfortable! The concierge (Ishmail) went above and beyond to accommodate us. When we had a very late flight, he pushed our check out to as late a possible, at no extra charge. He also arranged for us to have a "refresher" room for one hour prior to our flight, so that we might be able to shower and change and freshen up. Again, at no extra charge! He also gave us fantastic advice about where to go in Singapore. I would 100% return to this hotel again and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking to stay in singapore.

Awesome”

The hotel is so comfortable and cosy. It is clean and to search for food is very easy as it is located beside Lau Pa Sat. It's definitely worth the money even though it is expensive. One of the boutique hotels which is very unique. The breakfast is quite a spread too but I've experienced better breakfast than Sofitel So. Worth the try.

Very good bootic hotel / average leisure location ”

Service was always smiley and helpful. Problem of curtain not closing fully was not solved even if a guy came immediately to fix with poor success. Would have expected a short ten solution and the next day a permanent fix. The breakfast was great with lot of variety in high quality products. Crowded on the weekend due to brunches coming from outside of the hotel. Not good... Disappointed and frustrated by the lack of music dock for my iPhone, especially when I realized that the two dock for the room's iPad and iPhone were only for charging. And the iPad is only for commanding lights and curtains (nice but limited) and the iPhone only for calling the desk... Also the hotel is far from the city center (by walking). There is a food market where you can dine for a few SGDs at night with local products. You can also find a convenience store right at the corner. Also not happy they could not upgrade me (Accor gold) but they partly compensated by offering a bottle of white wine one night (you know the price of such item in Singapore????) Most of all the room was very quiet which is very critical aspect for me...

So Sofitel, So Singapore, So Happy!!”

Most hotels aren't memorable, but my husband and I agreed, we won't forget the So Sofitel. I love boutique hotels, and this one was truly unique, beautiful, and good humored. The amenities were awesome, free mini bar and snacks were a great treat!. Sculptural, ceramic hands for hooks in the bathroom were so cool. I fear other future hotels will never compare! We want to stay here again, for sure!

Quirky Central Hotel”

Very stylish boutique hotel under the Sofitel umbrella. Very friendly staff. Great location for Business District, Marina and Singapore River and close to Metro for getting around and airport connection. Rooms small but very stylish. Restaurant a bit expensive

Nice boutique hotel but overpriced and overrated ”

Centrally located and easy walk to MRT and food bazaar. The heritage room - good size for Singapore and comfy bedding. Decoration was nice but I noticed the finishing was quite roughly done. No complaint at all for a 4-star property but it is rated 5-star on agoda (which I would disagree) with a 5-star price tag. The complimentary drinks in the fridge would not be replenished after consumption. The breakfast was good with a variety of selections but because the restaurant was small and packed with guests I felt a bit cramped. I paid more than $360 US per night so for this price tag I reckon the real 5-star hotels are much nicer and worth the bucks more. The pool on the rooftop really killed my experience as it is dated with chipped tiles here and there, and not cleanly maintained. This hotel is nice but it's a 4-star standard and it should charge for a 4-star price. Recommended only if the price is no more than $250 US per night even in Singapore.

Love the room decorations”

I love the hotel even though I encountered a drama unfolded during check-in. Apparently a couple insisted on cancelling their stay together with their couple friends because they could not stand the smell of the hotel/room. In any case their "theme fragrance" is Urban Forest in the case of their shampoo etc which has a strong fragrance. The room is nicely decorated with chic displays. Decent gym. Love their wagyu beef room service. However, it would be good if they can work on the followings: - the room floor is too slippery/not compatible with the slippers. I nearly tripped a few times. - the toilet seat is very cold even though Singapore is not a cold country. Have to brace myself for the coldness of the seat every time. - the IPAD does not work every time; whether to adjust the air-con or order room service. The best is to do it manually. It will be really good if this automated service is more robust else it is albeit a waste of money and resource. - should provide complimentary parking instead of $40 per stay Lastly, to those who mentioned that the shower temperature is not working: if you want hot water, turn the knob towards the blue/cold indication! Somehow it seems that the indications are labelled wrongly.

10 day stay”

We were visiting family in Singapore. They thought we had got a really good deal for such a good hotel. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The room was spectacular. Maybe (from an old codgers perspective) a little more thought might have been given to rounding off the edges of the marble and adding a handle or two on the bath/shower might have saved a stubbed toe in the dark and a mega splash from falling in the bath but no complaints! Very good chance we will stay here again.

Strategically located”

It’s strategically located in CBD area and you are able to find Lau Pa Sat right beside the hotel. Stayed 3 days 2 nights from 30 December 2020 to 1st January 2021. However, during the 2nd day called twice for housekeeping and they didn’t make the bed. Not too sure why. Ordered in room dining nasi goreng and steak. Nasi goreng was bland though no taste at all. Ala carte breakfast was so so. Overall stay is okay just need to pre book gym and swimming pool.

Best deal ever”

My best experience out of all my staycation! The room is huge and really isolated so you are like in your own space. Spacious bathroom allows you and your partner to use the sink together and bathtub is huge too. Well equipped with amenities for both him and her. Hotel breakfast was great too, and the friendly staffs will greet every single guest. Conveniently located beside lao pa sat, drop by for a taste of true singapore food. Really wont regret booking this 5star experience :)
