Serenity in the heart of the City”

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth was worth every single cent spent on my 3D2N night business/work stay. Check in was a breeze having sent a message to the hotel directly about my arriving early. Obliged to my request for a late check out. Service was impecable all around and I felt at ease being in an out of the hotel/room throughout my stay. The hotel is situated within walking distance of almost everything - shopping, parks, nearby sights. Will keep this in mind if I have to make onother trip here with the family.

Good Hotel”

We had 5 restful nights at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel. Housekeeping was alright but not too consistent. Perhaps it was the festive season, our towels were not changed on two of the days. Concierge staff and especially the guest relations staff, were very helpful. I rated staff performance as 2 because of an unpleasant experience at Soiree, the restaurant at the lobby on Christmas Night. It was passed 9pm when we went to the restaurant. The 4 of us stood at the entrance for 15min waiting to be seated but was ignored totally by a male staff. There was no one else in the queue and the restaurant was not busy with plenty of empty tables. There was not any floor staff in sight. He walked pass us a few times but continued clearing tables and serving other guests. We waited patiently but still we were ignored. He completed his clearing up and then went to the bar to speak to the bar staffs. We were seated by another cheerful staff only after my husband marched into the bar area and confronted him.

Sofitel Sydney-city hotel”

Sofitel Wentworth was centrally located in the Sydney Central Business District. This hotel is within walking distance to Circular Quay and St. James stops on the subway, which can take you directly to and from the domestic and international airports. Darling Harbour, the Rocks, the Harbour Bridge, the City Centre, and Sydney Harbour. All these locations are within a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Very good location. We stayed here during Dec.23 and price was very good for low season. The front desk staff and the bell boys are very helpful and very willing to give you directions or hail a cab for you. Overall, the hotel is a little dated, but the location and friendliness of the staff was top-notch. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The Sofitel is a fantastic luxury hotel. The room was large and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean and big. The staff were very helpful throughout my stay. Located in the heart of Sydney CBD, you can walk to many of the sights as well as many of restaurants and bars. From the moment you walk in to the impressive foyer and friendly helpful staff you start to relax and enjoy yourself. This is a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it and I will stay there again.

High quality hotel in an excellent location”

My husband and I received excellent service, and enjoyed our stay at this high quality hotel. The Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel is in an excellent location for public transport and shopping,and is within easy walking distance to Circular Quays. We will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful service and great atmosphere”

We have stayed at the Sofitel Wentworth on several occasions and have always found the check-in to be friendly and efficient. There was no problem with our Agoda booking it was recorded and we were treated exceptionally well by staff. there were a couple of small annoyances. The room had an interconnecting door to the room next door which made it less soundproof and the neighbours were exceptionally noisy in their conversation both nights. We did not receive our newspaper the first morning although we requested it on check-in it was not recorded on the computer and the tissues in the bathroom were not replenished when the room was serviced the second day and they ran out. Apart from these minor things we enjoyed our stay immensely and would book through Agoda again.

We feel extremely lucky to have stayed at this resort. The customer service was fantastic. A big thanks to Nick the concierge. He was very knowledgeable about activities to do around Sydney and gave us a printout of instructions that made navigating through Sydney’s public transit system a breeze while also ensuring we never went through the same place twice. Furthermore, knowing the many tourists would not fully understand the craziness of New Years in Sydney, Nick pre booked several tickets for the opera house. This set us up with the opportunity to buy some tickets to the opera house to see an opera show and have prime time seats for the New Years fireworks. When we come back to Sydney, we will be staying here!

Exceptional”

The only con is in regards an additional night I rang up about. I had been advised by my airline that my flight to Sydney the following day would be delayed getting in which would make me a couple of hours late for my conference. I decided to drive down to Sydney, knowing I’d get in about 1am. I rang to see if I could stay the extra night. Was advised I could at a cost of over $500, equating to about $100 per hour to sleep in the bed!! The woman I spoke to didn’t think what she was offering was unreasonable. I did and stayed at another, more affordable hotel, on my arrival to Sydney. I didn’t think this was the nicest way to do business

Sydney Stay”

This is the first time I have stayed at the Sydney Sofitel for some time. My stay in Sydney was hectic with assorted medical appointments and my accommodation was an oasis of calm and comfort which made all the difference to me coping. I am only sorry that I was not able to stay longer!

CBD area hotel”

My stay at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth Hotel was great. This hotel is just a short distance away from those prime area. I can walk to Hyde park from this hotel and it just took me like 10 mins. The staffs are friendly and helpful. We got a lot of info from them.

Great Night and Friendly Staff”

We stayed at the Sofitel Wentworth so that we could attend a birthday party. It was a lovely hotel with a great breakfast but the most outstanding feature was the girl who checked us in. My shoes had started to rub my feet and I asked if they had any bandaids, she went out to look and said they had run out BUT she had got two for me from her own bag! Now that is service.

Great location”

We chose Sofitel Wentworth due to its proximity to the Botanical Gardens for New Years Eve fireworks. We were not disappointed. Great to be able to walk back to the hotel after the evening's entertainment that to queue up for trains. The hotel is deserving of its five star rating.

Our stay at Sofitel Wentworth was Perfect! The staff was absolutely very helpful, responsive, and friendly. The hotel interior was beautiful. The entire stay was very pleasant.

Luxury hotel with extremely polite staff”

When we checked in we were in awe. A porter took our luggage to our room. The concierge was very helpful. At the check-in desk we were offered for a little more money membership in the Sofitel Club, which we considered a real good deal. All the personnel, especially in the club facilities, we extremely friendly. The room was large and equipped with everything one would expect from a 5 star hotel. All over all the best hotel during our trip in Australia

Perfect Location”

The location is perfect, walk to Opera house and shopping strip, heart of Sydney. The staff are wonderful, always helpful. The price is very good too. The only thing is the kids asking is swimming pool, which the hotel dont have, others all execelllent.

Glad we got to stay here it was outstanding”

We chose to spend a few days in Sydney on the way back from an overseas holiday to get the time clock back in order. The experience was great. Hotel was confortable and very clean. The location was convenient as about equidistant to Circular Quay and the heart of the city. We had access to the club lounge which was outstanding. Overall the staff were excellent barring a few teething issues with check in.

Sofitel booked through Agoda”

We booked our room at the Sofitel through Agoda. We wanted: Somewhere convenient for the Opera House - tick. -A comfortable bed - tick. -Comfortable pillows - no tick. The pillows supplied were substandard. -A little bit of space to be able to sit in the room and have a break between planned activities - really not enough space for that, and only one comfortable chair in the room -Clean bathroom - no tick. I don't think the shower recess was actually not cleaned, but the grouting was so damaged that there seemed to be mould in the resulting holes and fissures. I've found this before when booking a deal at a 5 star hotel through Agoda. What appears to happen is that in order to give the discount the hotel allocate rooms that are small and which are in need of some work. This may help their bottom line by obtaining payment for a room that wouldn't cut it as a full price 5 star room, but it's counterproductive. I won't go back to Sofitel Wentworth because I've had much better accommodation booked through Agoda at other 5 start hotels and apartments that come through with 5 star quality accommodation even on a deal.
