Great experience and value for money”

This is my first time my family and I went to Maldives, we have to stay one night at Male as our flight arrived at local time 9pm. It our first time there somehow you don't feel safe in a new country. I booked Somerset Inn for 1 night stay that include hotel transfer. Upon arrival , I wasn't sure whether I did inform the hotel of my flight and arrival time and I was really worried. The moment we stepped out the arrival gate, we saw many people holding different hotel plates and mostly the 5* resort so I was really worried and I saw one guy holding a nice plate " Somerset" but I dare not approach him because we stayed in budget hotel not 5*. So I walked around and trying to find any counter and anyone holding "Somerset Inn" plate but found no one. So I decided to approach the guy holding " Somerset" and realized he was the one waiting for us. I must said they provided excellent "airport transfer" service and they ensure you are safe, bought the ferry ticket for you and helped you to load your luggage to the ferry from male airport to Male town. Then when the ferry arrived Male town, there is another guy waiting for you and helped you to load everything to the car and sent you to your hotel. As it was at night and Male town was not a big city that we came from, so we felt like we arrived in one of the town in India that we saw from TV and many people on the streets and motorbikes all over. we arrived our hotel and to my surprise, the hotels staffs are very friendly and we feel welcomed and safe and the room was very clean (from Singapore standard). The hotel also provide breakfast and we did not expect much also since it was a budget hotel , again another surprise they have very good selection and food was nice and the service staff were ALL friendly. They also arranged for us the airport transfer to our resort and have staff brought us to our resort staff. Top-notch service with a comfortable room. ”

Upon arrival, we have Somerset Inn's airport representative to receive us outside the arrival hall. We did not have anything to worry about us Somerset Inn has provided free round trip transfer. We were guided to a ferry and we were soon received by another of their personnel which immediately saw us through the crowd. We reached the hotel in about 10 minutes, a very good ride as we saw nice parts of the city. We got to the hotel, the furnishing of the lobby was elegant, looks clean and cozy. The front desk associates are also very friendly, welcoming and ensured that we are at ease by sitting us down while checking us in and we even got welcome drinks. The check in process was so fast and they even helped us with our luggage into our hotel room. What amazed me was this part - the staff knocked the door for us before we entered the room, showed us around the room and on the aircon for us to a desired temperature. Breakfast was good and we are greeted by all the staffs good morning. We then had to check out and got our transfer back to the airport for our resort. I thought the thing with Somerset Inn would have ended when I boarded the ferry back to Male Airport but no; there again was their staff there to receive us just to bring us to the counter of my next resort. I'm blown away by their service. Everything was so hassle free and all set well for us. My resort was supposed to contact Somerset Inn with regards to the transfer, yet when I arrived, I asked and they said no one contacted them, yet they are so nice to immediately contact the resort on our behalf. It is simply AMAZING. Thanks Somerset Inn for the wonderful stay - hassle free and the service I've received from the team is really appreciated and deeply remembered. If I'm coming back to Maldives again, I'll definitely stay at this hotel again just to enjoy the service here. :)

Clean and A nice Hotel ! ”

I stayed with my younger daughter (5 Years Old), she loves so much the decoration rooms which has a Fish pillow ! It is really different with other hotel. When we entered the hotel, it feel so homey and comfortable. Beside that the Breakfast is really Super Good ! 2 Thumbs for the service and staff, they are really very friendly and helpful. Glad to choose this hotel during my trip in Male City. Of course i would like to recommended to the other guest if you want to stay in Male then Somerset Inn is the final choice. Keep the good jobs for the Front Desk and the Hotel Manager - Mr. Mooz, do love your assistance. Keep it up the performance !

The Staff make this place EXCEPTIONAL! ”

We stayed at the Somerset in for over a week while we were on a work assignment in Male and it was the perfect home-away-from-home. While the rooms are compact (but what room in Male isn't!?) and the hotel doesn't offer the facilities of a five star (such as an on-site gym and restaurant), the service and attention of the staff was simply superb. I wanted to use a gym, so they organised for me to visit a local gym (they have a key card at the desk, so it was free) and they have tie-ups with the Somerset Hotel for discounted meals outside breakfast. I needed my plane ticket printed, and they happily did so, free of charge; and when it started raining, they gave me an umbrella to use for the day. They provide free water, and there is a Nespresso machine in every room. While the hotel is not the most strategically located, the level of service and attention to detail more than make up for this. I will definitely stay at the Somerset Inn again!

Excellent service and very helpful staff”

Hotel offers free transportation from airport to hotel, and helped us contact our next hotel to book for speedboat transfer. Upon check out, they arranged a staff to take us to the boat terminal. We were back in Male a day afterwards for switching island. Since there's still a couple hours left until our speedboat to depart, we went back to Somerset Inn to see if they offer luggage deposit service. The staff were beyond nice. They recognized us and allowed us to deposit luggages without changing us any extra fee, and even recommended us some places to visit in Male. Overall, the service here was amazing, breakfast was delicious, and we definitely had a great stay.

Laze Hotel by Somerset”

This has been the very less tiring that we've ever been to Male city. From the arrival in the airport til we went back to the airport jetty (departure). Staff were very friendly and professional! Breakfast was nice! Excellent stay! Worth the price with roundtrip transfer plus breakfast! Please continue to be like this! Will surely stay with laze again everytime we go to Male! The best hotel we ever stayed in Male so far! Good job Somerset! You did not fail us again just like our stay in Bangkok! Great management!

- The hotel has done all they can with such building in such location. - Buffet breakfast were great, with nice scrambled eggs, fried noodle, milk, etc. - Free round trip airport transfer. I submitted my arrival details via Agoda's special request twice (once right at booking time, and submit again a few weeks before check in) but no response. When I got to the airport, I asked a man there who led me to booth#43. My name was in the list for the transfer but without flight information. The guy at the booth managed the transfer effectively from there. I saw a lot of guests in the list who were missing flight information as well. So if you have the same problem, just go to booth#43 and you get the transfer in about 15 minutes. I'm not sure the problem was because of Agoda or the hotel. As I checked the email later, I saw that Agoda sent me an email right on the check-in day that the hotel was asking for my arrival details. Even though I already submitted twice with no response except for the automatic email from Agoda. Not sure if those requests actually reached the hotel at all. - Room is ok. Renovated as well as they could. Bathroom is good. - Location is walkable to Tsunami monument and Sultan park and the mosques within 1 km. But I would recommend to go to Tsunami monument as it's the walk along the beach. - I find the location quite dangerous, not because of people or crime, but because of road safety and construction safety. The road is so narrow and a lot of construction going on which I'm not sure about safety standard. - Difficult to find a restaurant for dinner in the neighborhood. Prepare to bring your own food. If you have to stay in Male for flight transfer, I would recommend this hotel. But if you just want a brief sightseeing in Male like me, I wouldn't recommend to stay a night in Male. Will I plan a trip to stay a night in Male again? Not likely. Do I regret staying a night in Male? No. It's ok for the one time experience. If somehow I need to stay

Great choice for a night in Male”

We stayed at Somserset Inn the night before our flight home. The hotel collected us from our speedboat transfer to Male and the next morning, someone accompanied us all the way to check in at the airport! It was very well organised, on time and a smooth transfer. Male' is a difficult city to cross, and their help was much appreciated. Nice room, decent breakfast - and very lovely staff!

Hotel is newly looking & room are as per advertised ”

We stayed here for a night before transfer into resorts the next day. Everything was perfect, starting from the pick up at the airport whereby the staff would be holding the hotel signage, so it's easy for us to identify. Transfer is by public ferry - a good experience for us too crossing the sea to the Male city. We then took the van + taxi (as we come in a big group) their van can only fit the most 5 pax. It's a short 6-7mins drive from the ferry, in fact it's also walking distance (~15mins). Staffs are very friendly. Upon checked in, the room has odd odour so I requested for a change of room, and it was duly complied. Breakfast choices are limited but good enough to fill your stomach. Seats are limited though. In room amenities are quite complete with basic required items such as water, shampoo, water heater, boiler etc. Overall, it's a good short stay at Somerset Inn. Would strongly recommend for a stay in and I will not hesitate to book again for my next trip.

Small inn but with great people ”

Arrived at the airport during night time, took about one hour to the inn due to traffic jam in male city. Also encountered electricity breakdown for a short while upon arrival . The standard room is small but equipped with all you might need for a short stay. Also the staff is sweet, even called to check if we have safely arrived at the resort after left the inn.

Fantastic Service”

All the staff a Somerset Inn were extremely friendly,efficient and helpful. One of the best service I've had in hotels so far. The rooms were bright and clean with a Nespresso machine. The toilet was slightly cramped. The decor of the room was tasteful and breakfast was standard international fare. Excellent experience in Somerset Inn and would definitely stay again.

Best Boutique Hotel for Male Transit, our favourite”

4th time in Maldives & 3rd time with Somerset, there's nothing fancy but cozy, clean & sufficient. Staffs are polite & caring, always with a smile on their face, also very helpful. Location is perfect at the town center, even arrived by late flights, still can find restaurants & stores around. Their transfer arrangement is excellent, every time they communicated well with our resorts & send us perfectly on time to catch our seaplane or resort ferry transfer. Our favourite transit hotel in Male.

Can rest comfortably in their room”

The bed is sooo comforting and relaxing qith mice quilts to be used. Airconditioning is perfect. There was a blackout during our stay there for maybe a minute and was speedily fixed. Foods are in good variety considering this is a boutique hotel. The complimentary airport pick up is one of the pros in here as the location is tricky to be found on your own. They have very great staffs. The filipino receptionist is very helpful and have done a great service. Since there are 3 of us in 1 room, she tried to find us a bigger room though all rooms are fully booked. She quickly can think of a good alternative solution to some issue that may arise. I would like to stay on this hotel again when i come back to Male. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Great! Great.....!!

The Most Helpful Staff”

We had a good stay at Somerset Inn. While it's not too close to the airport ferry, it is within walking distance to alot of shops, restaurants. Besides, the complimentary transport to and from the airport was great. The staff here are extremely helpful and always ready to assist in whatever way they can. I will definitely recommend staying here if you are on a budget because as much as it is affordable, it does not lack on anything.

Five Star Service”

This was my second stay at Sumerset Inn. This is the best hotel I have stayed in Male. It is very comfortable, well managed and maintained. The staff genuinely go out of there way to give the best service possible. I would highly recommend this hotel. I have stayed at many hotels in Male and this is by far my favourite.

A week hospitality! ”

You may find cheaper accomodation in Male but am not sure if you could find one with similar price range that offer 2 ways transfer comfy bed, strong & hot shower, nespresso machine & good breakfast! Kudos to all staff for their service level. Having visit Maldives frequently over the last 10 years and stayed at numerous hotels, so far this is the ONLY hotel that keep track of our journey after we checked out. They called our next accomodation to speak to us to make sure everything is good! Very impressive!

One thing that really made our stay at Somerset inn great was the staff. They were always friendly and ready to help. Besides that the rooms have everything you need and is a great choice if you're not planning on staying at the hotel all the time.

Perfect overnight stay in transit to island resperts of Maldives”

The staff were friendly and helpful. They met us at the airport and organiswd the ferry across to Male main island where we were met by courtesy vehicle to hotel. In the morning after breakfast got us back to the airport jetty for speedboat to resort. A well appointed small hotel.

Low Price Good Room, Good Breakfast”

I didn’t know that my room has no fridge included, due to my lowest room rate. Never mind. But i wish Somerset Inn would consider to change the toiletries supply to Simerset Hotel’s Greentea Body Wash, and Shampoo, at least. TQ

The personel was very friendly, helpful, efficiënt. The pick-up from airport, the check-in and out was very efficiënt. Room was clean, although they forgot tower in room. Staff is doing everything to arrange for you. The only disadvantage was no option for food, I arrived late and was hungry. However, I did not feel save alone wandering in the male dominated neighboorhood in search for food where i could pay with creditcard.
