Amazing place to be”

Just close to the beach and with 2 pools in this hotel. Lot of rerstaurants, massage on the beach. You have a choice for enjoy and relaxing. Accomodations are like an individual home, so cute and with fan and cleaning all morning. Just perfect staff and the personel very nice, smiling and propose at you a lot of things. They are at the reception the booking for excursions. If I come back to Koh Lanta, Im come back at Southern lanta Resort. :)

Fantastic location in a great beach”

I had a beach front suite with a fantastic view of the beach from inside the room or on the verandah. Can’t fault the views. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. The bed was a bit hard and bouncy but I still managed to sleep well. The breakfast is a bit ordinary but certainly enough to fill you up for the day. I booked in for 2 nights but now staying 6 - maybe even longer. I would definitely recommend Southern Lanta Resort to fellow travellers. Definitely value for money.

we stayed at Southern Lanta for five days in a beachfront room. the view was incredible, especially the sunsets!! the manager of the hotel was very helpful and informative with any questions we had. We walked the beach practically each day in this area and would say without question that southern Lanta stands out amongst the others.

Great location”

Our rooms were a bit old and we had a lot of mosquitos but they luckily provided nets. So we were ok at night . The ac didn’t work properly. We usually don’t use the ac at home but as it was stuffy and hot in the room, we needed it. Took forever to cool down. But we were in the older huts. The others didn’t have any issues. Price/quality very good , location was great. Right by the nicest beach, lots of good restaurants nearby. We mostly hung out at the black coral as they had good western style food (easier with kids), although the Southern Lanta had great Thai food. The morning glory was excellent. Communication was good, people friendly and they were good at organizing our trips. We had a great stay and would come back again

Amazing beach holiday”

Southern Lanta is an ideal spot for a beach holiday. Accomodation is right on a beautiful sandy shallow beach with warm water and beautiful sunsets every day. Free beach chairs are available day or night.It's family oriented, but not noisy. Choice of ocean or swimming pool.Rooms are extremely clean and spacious. Friendly staff, full buffet breakfast with lots of choice, including fresh bread. Environment and garden is well maintained. Great massages available on site.

Best place on Koh Lanta”

We loved staying at this hotel! We were travelling with our 14 months old baby and everything was perfect. The staff was so friendly and helpfull. The hotel is right on a nice, long and child friendly beach. Lovely sunsets! Close by are some good food stalls and restaurants. We highly recommend this resort to everyone, families with our without children! If we ever return to Koh Lanta we would surely stay here again.

Relaxing days at the beach”

If you want to spend a few relaxed days on the beach under the tropical sun, having a spa, a fitness centre and a restaurant in your hotel without spending too much money then the Southern Lanta resort is the place to go. The staff is friendly, the huts are functional with aircon, fridge, safe deposit box and individual veranda and the location is directly on the large, wide, soft sandy beach. Its busy without being crowded. A lot of restaurants available in walking distance. The breakfast lacks a bit variety.

Nice and clean accommodation”

Generally a very pleasant stay when in Lanta. Even in the low season, there seem to be quite a lot of activity in this resort, mostly families with children. Remember that Lanta is still a fairly quiet location even in high season. The beach bungalows were very nice, with a large balcony facing the waves. The pools mostly for cooling down, and there's also a jacuzzi section available. The breakfast provided was one of the best so far in Southern Thailand.

Booked 3 Nights stayed 6”

We got there in Low Season, which is very very low. Somedays we were the only two guests in this very big hotel. It was supercheap 900 Baht/Night in High Season this is of course more expensive. During Low Season the sea is wavy and there are very little jellyfish (too little to see), but we had no problems at all. I'd recommend Southern Lanta Resort to Backpackers during Low Season (Price), or Families during High Season

wonderful warm staff - great location”

I loved this hotel. My room had great Air Con plus a fan plus fly screens on all the windows. From the beginning the staff were very helpful, showing me 2 different rooms and asking me to choose which I preferred. Had free internet, plus the staff made a few local calls for me for free. Also picked me up from my prior hotel at long beach Ko Lanta for free. There is a twice daily free lift into town and I paid 40 baht to return to hotel in tuk tuk.

Great bungalows and friendly service”

spacious bungalow for a couple, nice gardens and great location close to the beach. friendly service from all the southern lanta staff and hearty breakfast. other guests were mainly families but ok for couple as well.

Excellent little resort right on the beach ”

Very good for families we stayed in 2 beach front bungalows which were lovely and relaxing, away from the hustle and bustle. Koh lanta is excellent for families and the locals are very friendly

Friendly hotel with great beach access”

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Southern Lanta Resort, however, it didn't meet our expections. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The standard of food at breakfast was acceptable although we would have preferred more Thai dishes as in our previous resort. The clientele included many families with children whereas we had anticipated that the hotel would be more popular with couples and have a more romantic atmosphere. We were celebrating our Silver Wedding anniversay and didn't experience the type of holiday we were expecting both from the hotel and the resort. The main problem at the hotel was with the sunbed availabity and necessitated getting up very early to secure a sunbed. We even got accused of stealing someone elses sunbed. People were putting towels on sunbeds and then not using them until late into the afternoon. A 2 hour non-usage policy should be introduced to ensure fairness when numbers are limited. The other problem was that when it rained the drains created a horrendous smell in the bathroom. Overall whilst we enjoyed our stay in Ko Lanta we were disappointed that it didn't meet our expections

Nice Place”

Our staying was pleasant in Southern Lanta Resort. Beach was nice in front of the hotel, easy to go swimming. Our room with the garden view was really nice. We will go there next time too.

Great for family with young children”

While I have traveled to Thailand numerous times, this was my first visit to Ko Lanta. The island is very mellow and beautiful.If you are traveling with a partner, South Lanta Resort is not for you if you want a romantic getaway.If you are traveling alone and prefer a quiet place, it might be too noisy and busy.I was with a toddler so this place was perfect. This is a very friendly family oriented place with a nice beach front location.There was a play area for children near the pool. The live music some evenings was a nice touch.

Location was great! Room needs maintenance”

Love the location, nearby to groceries and all sorts of restaurants/cafes. Klong Dao beach was beautiful, clean and safe for kids to enjoy. Villa with two bedroom ensuite space were ample enough for us 3 adults and 3 kids to stay in comfortably as we took the family room. But need of maintenance as some lights are not working, tv channels were limited and no hair dryer. Breakfast choices were good, simple and straight forward, kids love it. Tqvm 🙏

Very nice hotel”

The hotel is really nice. I don't understand the bad reviews it has from some people. The room is very spacous. Nice comfortable big bed, towels for the beach, water bottles which you get daily. Nice big breakfast with white and brown toast, eggs, noodles, rices, pancakes, potatoes, fruits, vegetables, different meats. etc. really nice selection. The hotel has two pools, a gym (little bid old) and it's right at the beach. The beach is really long and has a lot of different restaurants. There are mostly familiys there. The water is relatively shallow. We went to other beaches where the water was deeper and nicer to swim. But I am sure for kids and so this beach is great. The staff in the hotel was really really friendly. Overall the stay was great and I really can't mention one single thing which was not nice (try the food at the Bamboo restaurant further up at the beach, really nice! (even the pasta).

Really nice resort.”

Welcome to little Sweden, we loved it and our three year old was in heaven. Nice playable beach but no paradise. The town is in walking distance and a lot of restaurants and small shops are around. We started a hunt after Lantas best cappuchino and actually found one here on the resort that was pretty ok. The kitchen is really fast and serve good food just a little more expensive than around the block. Good luck!

Seems like a great place for families”

My stay was fine. My bungalow was garden view & it's a very quiet resort. There's a swimming pool but not a lot of loungers around it. It's a very family oriented resort so lots of kids running about. It's a safe area but Koh Lanta is safe in general. Room was spacious & bathroom was fine except for the smell of sewer. But seems rather common. The bed was really firm but then again common. The breakfast buffet was ok. There's a fresh omelet stand but everything else was cold or lukewarm.

Okay hotel, wouldn't recommend for romantic trip”

We booked the Southern Lanta for the gym and air con as we had just left a more rustic hut on the island of Koh Lipe. The gym is quite old and you have to pay 50 baht to use. The rooms were good, bathrooms were outdated and had bugs but we expected that. There are a lot of families and kids at this resort and the beach is very kid friendly so be aware if you're looking for an adult-oriented or romantic resort this isn't it. Breakfast buffet was decent, the same food was served everyday but there was enough options to not feel like we at the same thing every day. Reception helped us book a car for a day and we enjoyed getting to tour around the island. We paid 1200 baht which included insurance which we thought was fairly decent.
