        Peaceful, relaxing, de-stressing”

        Staff, garden, atmosphere

We needed some real recreation without too many 'adventures' and Suma Beach was almost perfect. For the days when we wanted to stretch out with a book beside the very clean, cool pool and amble to the restaurant for meals, it couldn't be better. The garden is a joy - full of a huge variety of neatly clipped plants - and I loved the bowls of petals arranged on water that were located around the hotel. When we wanted to venture further, running the gauntlet of trinket sellers, tour operators, laundry services, etc was a bit daunting for us less experienced travellers. However, it is worth walking the couple of kilometers west to try out some different restaurants in the other main street off the main road. There were good restaurants all along the same road as the Suma, too. We didn't realise we could ask for a daily clean but the hotel is so neat outside the bedrooms that not much carries in so it wasn't a problem. We did wonder if the hotel owners or some other agency could look at cleaning up the litter on the beach - it was disgusting. Also, it is a longish trip across Bali to get to Lovina and needs some planning. Drivers tend to be in a hurry and it is hard to enjoy the view when you are terrified! I'll try a bus next time we visit the Suma.

Excellent stay in a cozy hotel”

        food, location, staff

This is the second time i've stayed in this hotel. The reason I went to Lovina with my two children is to see the dolphins. Did it before and the experience was good. Arrived at the hotel at about four o'clock as the journey from Ubud is quite far especially with many stops along the way. I booked a standard room, didn't realize it was without air-conditioning and they informed me at the front desk. I had to only pay 100,000rph to be upgraded to a room with AC. To my delight, not only did I get a room with air conditioning, they also gave me a family room which is bigger in size. My kids, 11 and 7 year old boys, put their bags on the floor and immediately changed to try out the swimming pool. They went swimming for ages whilst I had a nice body scrub and massage as well as a facial nearby. Staff was all around so I didn't worry much. The hotel also provided floats and beach balls to the delight of my youngest boy. We had dinner at the hotel and it was superb. My kids had fettuchine carbonara and pizza whilst I had balinese food. It was a surreal experience. We also had the most delicious dessert and the staff was attentive all around. Always there when we need them. The beach is also about a minute walk from the hotel and so it's easy to wake up early in the morning and just do what you want to do. I recommend Suma Beach highly and it's a place where one would leave with fond memories.

We stayed 6 days at Suma Beach and we loved it, we arrived a 01:00 in the night and the reception gave us a warm welcome. The hotel has a very nice pool, restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing, the cook and the staff knows how to prepare different kitchens, we tried also sometimes the Western menu and this was delicious. Trips, Scooterrent, shuttlebus easy to arrange at the reception, our room was with seaview, we had a nice balcony, airco, fridge, rainshower and a large bed. Everyday cleaning room service and towels. If we come back to Bali we defenitly book a room again. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay so amazing and relaxing!! Happy new year!!

price quality, good food, close to the beach

I went to Lovina to go dolphin watching. Suma beach hotel is very close to the beach where the boats to go dolphin watching leave. It's a verry beautiful hotel with a nice swimming pool, friendly staff, a cosy and cheap spa, very good food and cocktaiils and nice rooms.

        Suma Beach Hotel”

        Fantastic staff. Great Location. Quiet

Really enjoyed our stay at Suma Beach Hotel. It was really quiet, and the staff helpful and attentive. Booked a day sightseeing tour through the hotel which was fantastic and great value. Also booked our transport to our next location at a good price The hotel backs straight onto the beach, is next to a temple and Balinese offerings are made every day at the little shrine in the gardens.

        Relaxing and pleaurable”

Staff, staff, staff and the pool and surrounding gardens were just fabulous.

Though a 3 hour drive thru the mountain range to Lovina Beach the hotel was relaxing and pleasurable. The staff at all levels were always smiling and striking up a conversation to ascertain our well being and wishing us a good day no matter what hour of the day it was. Management were keen to listen to my feed back on how to tweek a few minor things to make the travellers stay more comfortable and easier. Breakfast was filling and well presented by the staff. The balcony over looking the gardens and pool with the cain chairs outside the door were great just to sit back and enjoy a morning coffee. Definetly place to consider when staying at Lovina Beach as value for money its right up there. Looking forward to our next stay there.

great staff, great location, very clean

our days at suma hotel were fantastic. the hotel is very well located (next to the beach to see the sunset or go to the dolphins) and it is very clean. the best, is the staff, always friendly and helpful. the room were clean and the pool area the best place to relax under the sun. the breakfast is really complete (with much more than the typical banana pancake to choose). and just two minute walking from the hotel, dont miss warung indra. super good! great place to stay in lovina!

        One night was too short”

        Ambience, service & value

Place was really nice. Gardens and pool was v well done. The staff took a lot of effort to do up the decorations. The service provided was good, prompt and with a smile. Breakfast was good with a few choices. The rooms are nicely done with a homely feel including the bathroom. The superior double room we were given (#1) comes with an extra single bed, ceiling fan and mosquito nets for both beds including aircon. The only negative for me was that I found the Queen bed to be too soft and not firm enough. Our friends in similar room next door (#2) had no problem with the bed though. Lovina beach is a black sand beach but the waters are amazingly clear and unpolluted. Dolphin watching was kinda sad because the boats were going after the dolphins that surface like how paparazzi chases aftercelebrities. Will definitely come here again.

Nice cosy resort next to the beach n clean rooms”

Friendly reception with good service. Rooms were nice n clean. Value for money. Most importantly comfortable bed n clean toilets which I must say better than those 5⭐️ Rated hotels in Jimbaran.

It was a pleasant stay for a group of 15 of us to this resort next to the beach with clean rooms that's well maintained. It's value for money. Lady owner works there as the receptionist n was very easy on our request to upgrade to a bigger room with just some extra charges. The only disappointment in Lovina is that there wasn't any Organisations to monitor the boats going out to sea in the morning to bring visitors out to watch Dolphins. They were like over 500 boats all out there chasing after dolphins n that frightens them n we hardly manage to get a glimpse of them. Some boats even race n knock them. December month is too crowded to visit Bali.

a little bit off he beaten track, suma beach was a very nice place to stay. the rooms range from small with a fan to exceptionally nice with ac. the owner and his family take pride in their hotel and it shows. the lush vegetation is very tropical and very relaxing. the food is pretty good also. it is a little bit down the street from the center of lovina's activities.

        Excellent”

Suma Beach had a nice feel to the whole complex. The pool area is relaxing and very pleasant and my 13 year old used the pool a lot. They arranged snorkelling tour which was a big day trip. Budi the Manager was very helpful and arranged transport for my daughter and I when taxis had finished for the day. He ensured our safety and picked us up after our dinner which was so kind and thoughtful. Offered transportation options e.g. organised group shuttle for us back to Ubud. Nice relaxing stay

Villa is not in hotel compound.”

We booked 3-bedroom villa but the hotel just informed that the villa is 3km away from the hotel compound one week before departing to Bali. We requested to change the villa to three rooms in the hotel main building which is near to the beach. Hotel's reception allowed us to change. The deluxe rooms were nice, but plugs are limited. And the water supply is also not stable until no water flows out from the pipe which caused trouble to us. It was solved after complaining to the staff. The staff is friendly and helpful. Hot water needs to get from the restaurant as no kettle in room. But reception didn't inform restaurant will be closed on 10 pm. The door lock of one of the rooms was spoiled. The breakfast was prepared after we ordered it. Breakfast includes main meals (pancake, nasi goreng etc), drinks and fruits. The location is near to Lovina beach and easier for us to watch dolphin on the next morning.

        location

We arrived at Lovina Beach around 12-1am. The hotel staff said that no booking from us. He ask us to check in tomorrow morning because no admin staff there & can't check. So i said that I already wriiten remarks when I booked the hotel & said that I'll check in late. Than he gave us 2 rooms. Anyway we just stay for few hours than check out on 12pm. 1) Standard room - no air-cond & complimentary drink. 2) Bigger room (I don't know what type of room) - with air-cond, balcony & 2 bottles of complimentary drink(mineral water) & can add 2 extra mattress.

        Cosy, comfortable, nice

Great experience, amaze by it interior design, all very Baliness design yet very artistic! From stone carving, marble step tiling, colored stones, etc. The price we paid, are definitely great value with nice stay. STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL. We check in at night, bout 10pm, and need some food.. the staff help to escot us to buy supper and breakfast. If you want to experience the Baliness style and Bali people, this area and this hotel has it traditional value and living style.. compare to town area (kuta), town are too busy to maintain the Bali traditional tranquility.

        Nice, comfortable, cosy”

Nice Baliness interior design, comfortable and cosy room interior

Love this Hotel due to it interior design, from reception area, garden surrounding, and to the rooms, are all in very beautiful Baliness design. You will see the staircase, floor, in Bali style-coloured stone decorating the staircase, make up the tiles, the garden flowers pot, beautiful stone carving at the surrounding and etc. Inside the room, the ambience is comfortable, cosy. The only thing is, we have a group of friends, my friends booked standard room. Me and my husband book Ocean View room, paid double for Ocean View room. The ocean view room is bigger, but disappointed.. because the so called Ocean View, the ocean is actually quite far from the room, and most of the view are covered by trees, so not really get a nice ocean view. Not worth paying double to get the ocean view and end up does not get the view result. Overall, standard room designs are really nice :)

Overpriced in every area from the hotel”

Near beach, nice hotel, english speaking staff

The room is very nice and whole hotel is beautiful. 2-3mins walking to Lovina Beach where you can board the boats for dolphin tour. Everything in the hotel is overpriced. Eg. The restaurant directly outside the hotel entrance is very much cheaper, the massage spa directly outside the hotel is about 10-20% cheaper if you have it in hotel. besides the massage spa directly besides on the right side is a mini-shop that sell chips, soda, water so much cheaper then the hotel (Big water in this mini-shop only 5,000Rp where hotel charge 10,000Rp). Quite unpleasant experience with the tour I took with the hotel. Hotel staff failed to deliver promise. Lovina to Ubud transfer, hotel charge 600,000Rp (After much negotiation, hotel only willing to deal at 500,000Rp). There's this guy that sell thing at Lovina beach by the name Gary, he offered a private car charting at 450,000Rp. I deal straight without negotiate as it was much cheaper than the hotel. Btw, there's coffee/tes in the room, BUT no kettle for hot water, so it's as good as nothing

        only here for the dolphins”

next to melka excelsior hotel. good location. nice pool

there are 4 of us travelling (2 couples). our purpose here was for the dolphin watching. but we went ahead with snorkelling as well. check in was hassle free and quick. we booked the superior room but upgraded to the deluxe room. its bigger and located on the 1st floor facing the pool and garden. lovina beach is just behind the hotel but inaccessible because theres a temple behind this hotel. but still a short walking distance. the hotel is not located by the main road but its easy to find. its a walking distance to melka excelsior hotel. which is the hotel you can watch the 15mins dolphin show and other animals. the room itself was ok but the bathroom was a little disgusting. there were stains in the bathtub and a cockroach crawled out of the drainage. ewwww~ i drowned it in the tub and i showered outside the tub. which in result made the bathroom wet. both room and bathroom has poor lighting. its dim and gloomy. and the walls are very thin. i could hear people next door talking (at their normal volume). breakfast wasnt all that impressive either. its in a semi buffet style. if you ordered the american breakfast (which i did), you only get 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon. but theres free flow of toasts, muslii, coffee, tea, milk and choc. cake. thats about it.

        Pool, breakfast, staff

Suma is a beautiful hotel. The pool especially is super inviting. The staff make you feel so so welcome and are very warm and helpful. The room was really unique and quaint. We were upstairs. The bathroom and room are overall smaller but we didn't mind because it was so tastefully done. My only complaint about the room was that there was a bit too muh furniture. But we even had two seperate balconies! One overlooking the pool where we were served an awesome included breakfast. I would definitely recommend, and go back. One night wasn't enough.
