Beautiful oasis resort in the Railay paradise”
The resort itself is beautiful happily situated in Railay East - with fantastic views of the bay...I never made it to the sunrise unfortunately! I stayed in the chalet room for one night which was disappointing - I believe they will be refurbishing them soon as they are in a desperate need...I upgraded to the junior villa which lifted the whole experience to the next level. The rooms are amazing! Breakfast was very tasty with a wide choice. I also had a dinner couple of times and they food was delicious. Resort is in a very quiet part of Railay East but if you walk for less than 5 min you will reach the end of Railay East and the 'party part' of Railay with few bars, loads of restaurants going till late. I recommend 'Last Bar' (guess where the name came from) - live music, followed by fire show (some of the guys are simply incredible) or Thai boxing and DJ / dancing. Good vibe! And far enough from the resort so you can't hear any of the noise if you want an early night. Railay West is amazing for sunsets - hence, had my dinners mostly there.5 min from the resort - everything is 5 min away from Sunrise Tropical :) Pranangh beach is simply stunning with just most dramatic walk from East to West side you can ask for. If you're a climber it's your heaven! Railay has hundreds of 'tourist information / travel agents'(never pay a price on a leaflet - ask for a discount) where you can buy day trips to islands, jungle safaris, sunset cruises etc I did a few - most of the time they rush you through the programme and you're surrounded by hundreds of tourists but it's still worth doing - snorkelling is incredible and highly recommend 7 island sunset tour - snorkelling with hundreds of fish, pearl white Tup island is just something else with a breath taking sunset with thousands of bats migrating from one island to another every sunset....and then swimming with fluorescent plankton at night! Loved the whole package and really hope to go back one day!

Lovely hotel and service with a smile"”
sunrise tropical rsort krabi< thailand me and my husband had gone to thailand and we planned to visit krabi for its beautiful locations and water sports activity. we chose railay as our location for stay. railay is certainly one of the best place in thailand with beautiful beach and intricately carved lime stone hills and caves. we stayed at sunrise tropical rsort at railay. this is wonderful resort equipped with ultramodern luxuries. the towels and linen provided was of high quality and the morning breakfast had everything to offer that a five star hotel can offer. the hotel is a real luxury and very good deal for the price you pay. air condition had individual control of ac temperature and air flow in each room. the entire hotel is maintained neat and clean. the linen and towels provided are spotlessly clean and of good quality. the staff at hotel was found to be very efficient and courteous. overall the place gets very high ratings and i would recommend any traveller to consider sunrise tropical rsort as one of the option available. the best feature we liked was that boat to krabi was available just outside the hotel and it took less than a minute to check out and catch the boat.

Memorable stay at Tropical Sunrise Resort”
We enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Tropical resort in Mar 2016. The Tropical Villa Plus was higher priced but a great choice. It was not connected to any other villa. The resort area was quiet and the grounds very well kept. The Villa exterior was very nice and the front deck was private. Inside the villa was quite spacious, cozy and inviting. The bed was comfortable, air conditioning kept us cool and the outdoor shower was a nice feature. Drinking water (2 bottles) and coffee (2 individual pks) were provided each day. A safe, small fridge, hairdryer, 2 bathrobes and 2 beach towels were also provided. We purchased a few large jugs of water and some extra coffee in Krabi town before arriving in Railay. These items can be bought in Railay but cost more. The pool was small but refreshing and quiet whenever we were there. There is no beach available at Sunrise Tropical Resort, but West Railay beach is only 5-10 min walk away. A large variety of food choices are available at their restaurant and the prices were comparable to everywhere else in Railay. Breakfast was included in our room price, which was buffet style with a good selection (waffles were awesome). The staff was friendly and helpful. Check out was at 11am, but our flight didn't leave until the evening. They held our luggage for us so we could still enjoy Railay until we had to depart for the airport. If we travel to Railay again, we'd stay at the Sunrise Tropical Resort! :)

Great value hotel, highly recommended!”
I stayed at the Sunrise Tropical hotel for just over 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Travelling with 2 friends we stayed and a double room with an extra bed. Considering there was 3 people staying in one room, we had loads of room! The amenities were great too. The room offered comfortable beds, spacious bathroom with a large shower and bath. A good sized balcony also offered beautiful views of the limestone cliffs surrounding Railay. The hotel grounds are quite nicely and traditionally landscaped. There is a medium sized pool which I only swam in once only because the beaches on Railay are so beautiful. The staff were very friendly and got such a warm welcome and farewell from them. Any issues that we had were attended to immediately. Our booking also included breakfast which there was a large selection of choices available. The location of the hotel is on the East side of Railay which faces the mangrove beach which is still nice but not swimmable. It is only a short walk to Railay West and Phra Nang beach. I would definitely stay at the Sunrise Tropical hotel on my next visit to Railay beach.

Best resort on Railay!”
I've stayed at this resort three times, and I will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Railay. Though it is on the "ugly" beach where you can't swim, it is just a five minute walk to the West side for a swim. The staff here are always helpful and always have a smile. The rooms and villas are very spacious, clean, and stylishly decorated, and the breakfast buffet is delicious and includes lots of healthy options. The location on the East side of Railay means that prices are a bit lower, which makes a stay Sunrise Tropical Resort an amazing deal. This feels like a home away from home for me, and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean and the nearby rock climbing (just a 5 minute walk from the resort!). Stay here, and you won't regret it!

Beautiful, big room and gardens”
As we were travelling by longtail from the phi phi to railay ferry to the Railay East dock, I must say that Railay East did not look particularly promising. The mangroves were somewhat offputting, and the boardwalk seemed a little bit "bleak". However, when we reached the hotel we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by friendly staff who were perhaps a little shy, if anything. The gardens were very well manicured and provided a pleasant backdrop to the restaurant, which was also quite nice. We got to our room - a tropical villa plus - and it was fantastic. Very spacious and well appointed. The bathroom had a beautiful bath overlooking a private courtyard, which had an outdoor shower which was also very nice. The elevated four post bed was gorgeous. I was surprised by how short a walk it was to the beautiful phra nang and west railay beaches respectively. We went in the off season, so it was fairly quiet. We took a cooking class in the hills at another resort, i cant remember the name of the resort but it was from memory the only cooking class in railay. We organised it through the tour bookings at the sunrise resort - it was fantastic. We also did another white water rafting tour which was great. No alcohol was served at the restaurant and none in the minibar, but this was generally ok because we bought our own from the local stores. A fantastic resort with great rooms and surrounds!

Heaven on earth”
We ( myself, wifey & our 3 year old daughter ) had booked a dukex villa with double bed in Sunrise Tropical Resort and we were there from 4th -6th June 2019. We cannot really find any major fault during our stay except that out bathroom drainage was chocked, so while showering there used to be almost 1-2inches of water accumulatted in the bathroom. I complained about it both the days but no action was taken though they pretended that they have taken action on the complain but nothing happened. Apart from this everything was good. The resort is conveniently located within short walking distance to Railay West and Ao Phra Nang beach – just brilliant! Also the more busy part of Railay is very close, so whenever you feel like you want more buzz around you, or a massage, this is just 3-5 min away from you. The staff was great, very helpful, kind and always smiling. Our villa were serviced everyday, usually while we were at the beach. For breakfast we were served fresh, nice food with good.

Paradise Found”
First the bad news. We booked an airport transfer as recommended by other reviewers but there was no-one at Krabi airport to greet us. We called the hotel and then had to wait 50 minutes for the mini bus to arrive. We were told by staff at the airport that this was not the first time that this resort had done this. However everything else at the resort was superb. The location is awesome and, although on the wrong side of Railay is still spectacular with only a short walk to the better beach. We chose a Tropical Villa Plus which was a great choice as the smaller rooms looked to be fairly bland (but still seemed worth the price if you are working on a budget). The rooms are spacious and well furnished with the shower a particular selling point. The food was excellent and compared favourably with other restaurants which we ate in. The spa was great and the staff there very helpful letting me soak in the jacuzzi whilst my girlfriend was having a facial. Yes, mosquitoes are a problem but, frankly, you have to expect it here and take whatever precautions you can

Great Service for Railay Beach, but too expensive ”
We returned to Railay for the 4th time, before we got almost used to the miserable service on this island, but this time we were suprised by the exellent service at Sunrise Tropical Resort (our first stay there). If we return, we will choose this hotel again, same type of room. But still I think it is too expensive for Thailand, not only the rooms, but also food in Railay. We were there during this horrible rain and flood and really lucky to stay at Sunrise Tropical Resort. They took good care of us. Wifi is free, even in the rooms, which was important to update our family at home and find out how bad the situation is. The really bad thing about Railay are the boatmen and I really hope the hotels will soon offer their own service, because to wait for more pepole for a trip to Aonang with a small child is no fun. Once we needed to go to the clinic with my daughter - imagine we had to wait for 8 people to fill the boat or pay for the missing amout of people. Really they show now kindness, no pitty.

The most amazing staff ”
I don't usually write reviews, but for this hotel I wanted to primarily because of the extraordinarily kind and attentive staff. About the hotel itself, while on the West side of Railay, I'm glad I chose this option - the hotels on the East, while beachfront, were not private, and not worth the extra cost in my opinion. From the hotel, it was a short walk through the interior (green with caves and monkeys making it interesting)to the beach on the West, and in fact closer to Phra Nang beach, the must see. It was also closer to the restaurants and bars which were preferable to all the hotels' F&B outlets. Rooms were surprisingly large, clean and comfortable, bathrooms in good condition, set around a quiet garden but not too far from reception. Breakfast was typical of an independent Thai resort. What made this resort was its staff. I was unfortunately ill while I was in Railay, by myself and unable to make the journey back to the mainland. The staff immediately arranged a room for me, individually took the initiative to check on me from time to time to see if I was alright, made sure the staff on the next shift knew also, the receptionist made me toast when the kitchen was closed because that's all I could eat, brought the pharmacist to my room and then delivered the meds she prescribed. It was so far beyond what was expected of them, I was so touched by how kind they were. When I was well enough to make the boat transfer, they made sure there was zero waiting involved, that the boatman and then the limo driver knew to help me. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be the most humbling experience, and I could not be more grateful to the Sunrise team.

A Quiet getaway in paradise.”
We stayed at the Sunrise Tropical Resort for 3 nights in Railay Bay area. The Staff attention at the resort is top of the line - their English is great, they are always willing to go out of their way to help, and they were very friendly and accommodating. The pool at the resort was fantastic, great restaurant with evening BBQ service, and the travel attendant was there to meet all our needs regarding booking boat trips to nearby islands and travel to the mainland airport. Railay is where to go if you are looking for calm, peace, and quiet.

Hidden Gem on Quiet beach”
Sunrise Tropical is a fabulous resort and I couldn’t recommend it more. The staff go above and beyond, the villa was luxurious and very clean and there were adorable monkeys every day in the trees above my villa. I strongly advise booking the hotel transport round trip from the airport and you won’t have to drag your bag through the sand or down a long floating bridge. The A/C was excellent in the room, and they will set up a mosquito net if needed. Short walk to Railay West or Phra Nang Cave. East beach is not really for swimming (muddier) so jump in the pool. Outdoor shower in the villa was fun too! Fresh towels every day, room always spotless and in April there were no bugs (some mosquitos but it’s the jungle). If you climb, it’s a short walk to dozens of crags! Quiet at night because the party is on the West beach! The 8.1 rating sold this resort to me on Agoda and did NOT disappoint!

Just a hop off the pier”
Only a few steps from the pier in East Railay, Sunrise Tropical Resort makes the Railay experience easy with access to the west side right next door. Views to die for, a robust restaurant, cute bungalows and a relaxing pool. What more could you ask for? Monkeys, monitor lizards and geckos will be your new best friends and spotting jackfruits and other delights growing on the property will help pass the time. We stayed in a bungalow which was traditionally styled with an amazing bathroom and spacious bedroom and living area.

Great experiences with this resort”
Sunrise Tropical Resort is good resort at the east side of Railay bay, quite and peaceful. The breakfast is awesome and all staffs are so friendly and smiley. The location is close to nammao pier and not much far from the west side of railay bay and pranang beach. Room is so clean and quite big, bathtub is also good for relaxing. We were enjoyed both nature outside and inside this resort. highly recommended for your stay. :D

Awesome villa, pity Railay is a tourist trap!”
we were very happy with this resort, though overall pretty disappointed by railay itself. stayed in the tropical villa plus junior- which was awesome- with a canopy bed and amazing bathroom. service at the resort was very good and we used the pool once, which was also quite good (but not huge). the beach directly in front is east railay beach and not suitable for swimming. it's an awful, stinky mangrove swamp at low tide. but this shouldn't deter you from the resort, which is good value and very pleasant. the resort is actually in a good location because you can easily access the two swimming beaches, and it's closer to nightlife than those on west railay beach. ate dinner at the sunrise tropical resort and had no complaints. unfortunately you are pretty much restricted to resort dining in railay - there are not many independent restaurants and virtually no street food. sadly railay is a bit of a tourist trap. it's massively over-populated and over-priced and the beautiful beaches are swamped with sooo many tourists. a real shame, because there is obviously so much natural beauty here.

Great Honeymoon Stay”
We chose the Sunrise Tropical Resort after much research of the hotels in the area. After our stay, I believe we chose wisely. When we arrived my name was listed on a display welcoming the new guests for the day. The villa we stay in was beautiful and peaceful. Everyone we encountered was happy to help us. The location was on the East side, which is the muddy side, but we knew that coming in. It's only a 5 minute walk to Phra Nang Beach or Railay West. The restaurant was solid, too. We really have nothing bad to say about our stay... we were very pleased and had a great honeymoon.

Railey... Where else?”
Railay in Krabi isn’t cheap. But not expensive either. It just depends what you looking for. I wanted a nice room, and ended up with booking a “vila plus” at Sunrise Tropical Resort, located at Railey east. It’s just a Resort like elsewhere in the world, however, the booked room (villa/bungalow) was really nicely set, with a big King size bed (with fake mosquito net?), living space, wardrobe, bathroom with bath tube and an outside shower (with hot water). Probably regular rooms are not that lovely, but this “vila” was really nice and lovely, with his own veranda (each vila is an independent building). Of course, regular rooms are cheaper… Overall, the Hotel is quiet good located, just a few minutes from 2 of the most beautiful beaches of Thailand and the world, and staff was correct and efficient. This alone is already a value. And overall, the Hotel was correct in all senses. Just one side note: One night while there was rain, the Hotel restaurant was full (with guest afraid of rain), so instead waiting 1 hour, we moved to other resort for dinner… (The Restaurant isn’t ready for too much people…)

Luxury digs, cheap price.”
the hotel itself is in good shape. they're doing construction on the tropical chalay building right now, but if you're in your room while they're doing the work...well...you're doing it wrong. the sunrise tropical restaurant is a little meh, i'd recommend walking north along east railay to a restaurant called "sawasdee restaurant" as it was a bit better. prices on railay aren't that bad, and the hotel is well situated to put you on phra nang beach fast!

Can not wait to go back”
We arrived dripping wet and were welcomed with lovely smiles and a very appreciated swift check-in. Villas are lovely and set amongst beautiful gardens. Pool is smallish but cleaned every day. Restaurant is set up well and does not get too crowded. Staff are lovely and attentative. Internet room and shop very convenient. Tour desk is also available. Sunrise is at Railay East beach and watching the sunrise is beautiful. 5 minute walk west takes you to Railay west beach for wonderful restaurants and eateries. Lots of watersports available at Railay west beach. Small walking lane which includes eateries, internet cafe, tours, shops. My daughter and I had a wonderful time there and can not wait to go back. Sunrise Tropical Resort is only accessible by longboat and guests should ensure to arrange airport transfer with the resort.

Sunrise Tropical - Excellent Choice!”
Sunrise Tropical is centrally located between the gorgeous Pranang Beach, West Railay Beach/Shops/Restaurants, and the younger/bar scene part of town. There is super easy access to/from the ferry/longtail boats which arrive from other towns. If you arrive at low/mid tide, you will have to walk through water to get to land. Arrival at high tide will allow the longtail boat to bring you straight up to the hotel. The rooms are spacious and private (although we could hear our neighbor through the wall when they were watching TV and talking). The breakfast is complete with fresh omlettes, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads, a thai noodle dish and some hot meats. The service was very pleasant. Be prepared for mosquitos EVERYWHERE! Wear insect repellent, even in the room. I think this is the case at every hotel in town. Ask for mosquito netting around your bed (not sure if every room is automatically equipped). There is no beach outside your door, however there are two great beaches within 5 minutes walking. You cannot get to Pranang Beach during high tide (unless you swim around the island... lol) and then you will find no sand when you arrive. Railay West is a so-so beach for laying out, although I live in Miami and may be slightly spoiled. My favorite beach time was late afternoon/early evening at Pranang where you may see adorable monkeys playing in the trees and an amazing sunset. Railay West is also nice at sunset because there's a restaurant that provides mats and drink service on the sand. You will see it, as it's the only restaurant not affiliated with a hotel. The food there is excellent as well. All in all, Sunrise Tropical was the perfect hotel for us. Rates on agoda were far less than any other booking site.
