Superb stay at a beautifully landscaped resort”

My 5 days stay at Sunset Beach has been a truly amazing experience. I totally adore the beautiful lush gardens and statue fountains that is a haven of peace, serenity and tranquility. The room I stayed in was huge, with comfortable bed and nice balcony. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. If you wish to go on a island hopping tour, you can just inform the staff at the reception and they will make the necessary arrangements for you. In addition to that, hotel has a private beach so guest could rest and relax on the lounge chairs at the hotel overlooking the beautiful Pantai Tengah beach. Hotel location was excellent as restaurants, bars and duty free shops are located at a short walking distance. I would definately choose Sunset Beach should I ever visit Langkawi again and will definately recommend this resort to family and friends.

Our second stay here”

This is our second stay. The first time we stayed here was just about 3 months back. Our reviews remain the same. Staffs are super friendly. Hotel is underrated..should have been at least a 3 star. Rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel has its own private beach..and it is indeed very private, away from the noisy Cenang beach. For our second stay, the staffs actually still recognize us and let us stay in a room that is closest to the beach. Thumbs up Sunset Beach Resort!

Just what we had in mind!”

We totally enjoyed our stay at Sunset Beach Resort. The room was tastefully furnished to create a very comfortable and relaxing environment for a beach holiday. The hotel compound is beautifully landscaped such that you feel like you are living in a garden! Rooms are built as semi-detached chalets and terraces. The interior is spacious and clean. However, the toiletries provided are basic, only bar soap, so remember to bring your own shampoo, toothbrush or toothpaste. If you haven't brought them you can easily get them at the many mini marts in the neighbourhood. TV only has three channels in total but watching tv on vacation is not the best use of time; get out and play!

Basic resort in a nice location”

The Sunset Beach Resort is a no frills resort that caters to a traveller's basic needs. It's located on the quieter end of Pantai Cenang and has a private beach, which is awesome. The rooms are clean and spacious enough. The staff are really nice and friendly. The air-conditioner broke down during our stay (we were woken up by the aircon spitting ice balls!) and they did their best to repair it, but when that failed, they gave us a new room without any fuss. Breakfast is not provided, but there is no lack of food places near the resort. Just a note that there is only wifi at the reception area and not in the rooms.

Hidden getaway from the busy Pantai Cenang”

We were quite worried when we first arrived at Pantai Cenang, this beach reminds me of the over populated beach areas in Phuket. The Sunset Beach Resort is located close to the end of the beach and we were surprised that it's slightly hidden away from the main beach area (less people, clean). I was hoping that there will be a swimming pool but the beach is just right there if you fancy a swim / dip. We booked a Sunset II room and it's large and spacious. The room is clean and comfortable. The highlight of my stay at the resort was the breakfast by the beach, they serve basic breakfast, but the view and the ambiance was a big plus! Overall, the hotels in Langkawi is quite pricey (compared to Thailand) so this is probably worth the money. I'd recommend it to people who wants to be located in a "central" beach area but get to enjoy more privacy as you're sunbathing / swimming in the sea.

Small but very clean”

A small resort with 17 rooms available. It was larger but a big portion was acquired by someone else to build a multi storey hotel next door. But it was well maintained and very clean. Friendly staff. Nice design with Bali touch. Great location. Walking distance to under water world and duty free shops and restaurants. Direct access to beach. Younger generation might complain about the Wi-Fi speed and lack of TV channels. There is no gym, cafeteria facilities here. But that should not be the purpose you come to Pantai Cenang.

Amazing location with a private beach”

We enjoyed our 5 nights at Sunset Beach Resort thanks to the friendly staff, big clean rooms, private beach and the friendly vibe from the long term guest we met. It is located south of Canang beach, behind a headland which stops most of the tourist from the other side from coming across. The beach is wide, feels secluded and the water was shallow and fun for our 5 year old to play safely in. Our 1 year old loved playing with the residential hermit crabs. There are loads of cheap eateries around and it is easy to get away from the very touristic restaurants for something local. Summing it all up this was the perfect break for me and my family during our travels in Malaysia!

Definitely worth the stay!”

We booked this hotel based on the reviews by other Agoda users and they are all right about this hotel!, First of all, the hotel is situated right next to the beach and it has its own passage to the beach which makes it felt like the beach is privately owned just to them. Secondly, the staffs are very friendly and talked to us almost half an hour. We asked alot of things and they gave us alot of info on places to eat, places to visit..it almost makes them like an information counter more than a receptionist.awesome!!. The rooms were all new, toilet new and modern, everything looks cozy that I felt like staying in a 4 to 5 star hotel hence felt that 2 star given to them is underrated. The parking is always available and the hotel is situated in a place where it is just walking distance to the Cenang beach, Underwater World and restaurants. Thanks to the Agoda users for the positive remarks on this hotel, we made the right choice!

An idyllic place”

Sunset Beach Resort is steps away from the beach. And it’s located away from noisier Cenang beach but it’s conveniently located within walking distance from eateries and shops. The service staff are fantastic and friendly. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable. Highly recommended.

Clean and Cozy Gem”

Besides high-end hotels, this is the place to be if you are not in the mood for the many cheap but rundown hotels in Pantai Cenang. The hotel is located on a narrow strip of land and does not have the best access to the beach with only one room is 'beachfront'. Next door plot is cordoned off. But the outdoor decor is one of the best and the rooms are simple, modern, clean with everything working. Staff was always helpful.

Pretty Place ”

This is the place that is near to the beach and kinda have their own private beach. Although it’s not in Pantai Cenang night spot that have all the attraction like fire play and bar by the beach. But it is near to go there just a few chalet away. Well kept place, motherly kinda feel about the employees. I will repeat this place and take the room that when you open the door and one step is the beach!!!!

Great for the money”

Look, this is not a super posh resort. In fact, it's not really a "resort" at all: you get a room with a bed and a shower and bathroom and air conditioner and that's pretty much it. (And an old TV which will never be used.). But you also get a private stretch of beach that is pretty darned nice. You can laze under some coconut palms and the water is right there. Clear and clean. On one side of you is an unused (or barely used) property belonging to the Malaysian National Bank. Nobody is there. On the other side is an empty property that promises to be a high-rise that can be seen from KL. Again, it's empty. Yes, there are will be some parasailing and jetskis, but it's nothing compared to what is going on just a few hundred meters away on the main part of Cenang beach. (And that can't be seen or heard because of rocky outcrop close by.. Out the front door are the usual suspects: dive seafood restaurants, some duty free, etc etc. All in all: good place for the money.

Langkowie sunset”

Only had 2 nights at Sunset Beach Resort and were so glad we chose to stay there rather than the neighbouring Cenang Beach. We had the beach to ourselves and it was easily accessable from the resort. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable. The gardens that line the pathways are beautiful - much appreciated. Friendly, happy staff a plus.

it's very good choice to stay here”

1) very clean. The room is very clean and the air-con is on 24 hours, so it's not wet even beside the beach 2) has car park. as no public transport in langkawi, car park is very important if you rent a car 3) "private beach". do not image the beach as beautiful as the 5 star hotels, but it worth at this price. 4) walking distance to AB hotel to book trip, old town, kfc, other seafood restaurant for dining. overall, it really worth the price and pleasant stay here.

Great Place to Stay”

Right from the moment we arrived the staff were happy, courteous and helpful. The accomodation was quite adequate and it was nice and cool in a hot climate. Great to come back to after a day of exploring. Sunset Beach was handy to a lot of good eating places. Tomato or Red Tomato for breakfast were great places to eat. The Thai Restaurant near by had delicious food on offer and there were also others to choose from not too far away. The Cliff Restaurant was wonderful for a special Birthday celebration for one in our group. 6 o'clock drinks on the beach at Sunset Beach were a must where we sat in deck chairs and watched the sun go down. Amazing!!🌅

Great value for money in a fabulous beach environm”

I travelled with my teenage son. we loved the beach location on our door step with our own lounger chairs. The lush garden surroundings created privacy for each bungalow and was beautifully maintained.The main Chenang Beach area is 5 minutes away for beach activities, sunset walks and lots of beach bars for drinks and dinner at sunset. Good shopping if you need beach accesories. Wifi in the reception area was good and the staff created a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely recoomend or go back there!
