Best deal ever! ”

This place was a lucky find. I can't believe we chanced upon such an awesome deal! The room is big and cosy! It was really clean. The private onsen was amazing and had an awesome view. Made full use of it! Once in the morning and once before dinner! You definitely have to get the breakfast and dinner at the hotel. The food was amazing! Their own speciality sauces are great! Free flow of drinks! All kinds of drinks! The staff there were really friendly. My husband is very new to Japanese culture, he wanted to know everything and they were happy to answer all his questions. Even to the point of introducing us to an alcohol shop to get nice sake. Being a tourist spot, alot of things were in English, which was very helpful! Staff spoke English as well. Location wise, I think it's great. We were near the ropeway and sightseeing boat area at Lake Ashi. There's a busstop with 2 busses that come by. 1 goes to the premium outlet at Hakone and the other bus goes to the main interchange (Odawara). Pretty convinient! There's a family mart super right next to the hotel. This hotel is perfect to relax and enjoy the onsen and sights around.

Modernised Traditional onsen inn. ”

Room has a private onsen & interior uses a lot of wooden structure infusing nice wood smell. Advance booking is recommended and essential. Agoda can offer over 50% discount which includes decent Japanese breakfast and dinner. Famous Little Prince museum and Venetian Glass museum is nearby as well as well known Pampas grass field. Take bus route T from Hakone Yumoto station and get off at Daigateke stop (there's a Lawson convenient store) . It's about 40min trip. Only 1 min walk to hotel from bus stop. Better to buy Hakone Free Pass from Odakyu Shinjuku station. It includes train from Shinjuku to Hakone, most of the public transport in Hakone including Tozan bus, train, cable car, Ropeway and the famous cruise in Lake Ashi to see the Torii in the water.

The hotel itself is very well kept, with each room having its own private bath, as well as a much larger public bath with amazing views of the surrounding Hakone area. It is a bit out of the way from the main Hakone town but there is a bus stop 100m from the hotel that can take you to the main town

I love the open air hot spring in the room! It was a good experience going to the hot spring in the 1 degree weather. The futon is very comfortable and there’s a very cozy homely feel. The location is good, you can take the T bus to daigatake and it stops about 100m or less before the hotel. There’s a direct bus to hakone open-air museum (a must go!).

Great staying, amazing stuff!!!”

The hotel and the room and the onsen is beautiful traditional Japanese style with modern touch. The private onsen in the room is a real pleasure! But i must to say that stuff is the real deal here! something that even in Japan (that everyone is so polite and nice) was really impressive. I would like to point on 3 things: 1. We are vegetarians. The chief mad just for use different menu, made every they with other tasty dishes. ‌2. There was really hard typhoon at the time we stayed. the stuff act as a professional team! Move gests that slept in 1 floor rooms to higher floors, move the kitchen, dried with pumps the all the hotel area and make the gests to feel safe and relax. ‌3. The most impressive one- Because the typhoon busses and trains weren't worked. stuff member took us with is own private car 45 minutes to our next destination! stopped for us in the way that we will take pictures of mount Fuji and didn't agree that we will pay him in the and! Unbelievable ‌we really recommed!

Good option for Private Bath”

It's our 2nd visit to Susukinohara Ichinoyu, as the main building was affected by the typhoon, we were relocated to the Annex. We were dissapointed with the private bath as the size was really small and we were facing the carpark of the hotel. We purchased the option with breakfast and dinner as there were no restaurants nearby. The variety is limited and by the 2nd night we were sick of the food as it was mostly pork. However, it was tasty and of quality.

Enjoyable 1st visit”

I booked this hotel based on reviews and the fact that its a fairly new hotel and I was not disappointed. The facilities are new and clean. The onsen was lovely. The set dinner cater was not extravagant but we enjoyed it. We like the fact that they noticed and provided different menus for dinners for those who stayed for more than 1 night so we do not have to eat the same dish again. We also like the free flow of drinks that was offered with the dinner. Their breakfast was light and hearty. We also enjoyed the private hot bath we have in our room. Overall good stay and we'll definitely come back again.

Excellent stay”

The whole place felt like a resort, considering that the price paid was also considered more of a premium. Meals catered for us was excellent, from the sumptuous dinner to the splendid breakfast. On top of that there were various onsen baths available for use with yukatas provided as well. My room had a private bath where one could soak in privacy as well. Rooms were clean and spacious. Could be slightly inconvenient to get to if not driving as one has to take a bus from the train station, but positive note is that the bus stop is only a 3 min walk from the Ryokan. Staff were friendly and helpful as well.

This hotel was fantastic! me and my partner had a brilliant stay here, the private Onsens are great and the rooms are clean and tidy. The heating in the room ensures it stays nice and comfy for when you are done bathing and the beds are very comfy. The food was lovely both breakfast and dinner and there was so much we couldn't finish it. Its great value. Also the drinks are self serve all you can drink, perfect for a few beers with dinner. The level of relaxation you get at this hotel cannot be understated, I will be staying again.

Worth the stay! ”

The place is easy to find with the Tozan bus, good size of room given the price is not very high, clean and nice ambiance in the room with private hot spring bath always ready, nice dinner and breakfast. The only thing that may not reach one’s imagination for onsen hotel maybe the fact that the meals are served in the restaurant not the room, unlike some old ryokan, but at least the food is nice and is in a more-than-enough portion.

We loved our stay here. We were traveling on our honeymoon and were looking for the perfect onsen. This one was great for us - since we both have tattoos, we loved that the hotel had private baths in each room that we could enjoy together. We also requested massages while here, which were excellent! We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner here that were amazing. I am vegetarian and they made a spectacular meal for me!

A beautiful inn but issues with electricity ”

We came the week after the big typhoon. We had checked in advance if there was much damage but we’re given the all clear by agents. I hindsight, we should have take the hotel up on its offer to cancel because considering the location, one night doesn’t make sense. The transport links were fine but its out of the way location means it’s time consuming for anyone without a car and there was no shuttle bus to main transport hubs. Because of the storm, there was no electricity in the main building so we could not use the main attraction - the outdoor onsen. The weather meant we were pretty much confined to our room sadly. The one in the room was fine but it would have been nice to use the main one. Dinner was shabu shabu which was lovely. The breakfast however was more difficult - I had asked for a child’s meal because I can’t eat fish, and the staff were very inflexible. The room was beautiful and minimalistic. Would recommend if you have more than one day and your own transportation.

It has a cozy room and wonderful spa in the room. It is not a big one but ok for couples or family. There is only one minus point, the parking lot is too small and over capacity. Nearby has convenience store Family Mart opens 24 hr The room is clean and tidy The first night dinner is super great with traditional japanese hotpot served and first breakfast is great! One thing can be improved is the food at the second night both dinner and breakfast. The menu can be modified to be more like traditional Meteorite cuisine or more like what served at the 1st night!

Decent place, love the private onsen!”

Decent place that's a short walk from the bus station. Love the design of the room and the private onsen in the room. Breakfast was traditional Japanese breakfast. Only downside is that there's a lot of spiderwebs around the whole place. Had to pay extra for early check-in and the guy at reception was a bit frustrated when I asked him for directions to our destination.

Great hotel with private open air onsen”

This is new hotel that newly opened last year. I love the modern tatami style room & it is value for money as we stayed 1 night which included shabu shabu dinner & japanese breakfast on the next morning. The staff is friendly & food is good. Definitely I will be back again.
