"I booked Rendezvous Hotel a few months in advance, so I think I have got a good discount at that time, with free premium WiFi (although it turned out not easily connected). The room was spacious, clean & quite, easily controlled room temperature, has provided the exactly basics what I needed to stay in a hotel, the cups & teabags from three countries were impressive which I couldn’t stop trying how different they were. Although I have been to Sydney many times as I lived in Eastern Suburb before, I hadnot recognised it was so centrally located in Sydney Central until I transferred hotel from the West of Sydney by taking train to Central, just opposie to the Cental Station & just cross the road to get buses to other suburbs. Places of interest are easy to find way to go, both towards Town Hall & Broadway, along George St. When I tried to search my favourite & inexpenive Thai food restaurant, SATANG THAI, which turned out just opposite to Rendezvous on Quay St. Great stay for me!"

"CBD hotel was perfect for us. The room was a little bit smallish tify and clean, very good value for the money, so close to all the activities we wanted to do on our long weekend around Sydney CBD ,the staff were friendly and attended to all our request promptly. The only negative was we couldn't extend our stay for half a day as our flight was in the evening at 8:00 they wanted to charge full price for the room for 6 hours of use,but all around very satisfied with our stay at this hotel."

"Great location in Sydney CBD, walking distance to metro (Central Station) and walking distance to many restaurants, shopping and bars/pubs. Rooms were clean and facilities were good as well. Just be aware the kitchen/public area can get very busy and Wifi is only on ground floor. Other than that, great hostel and good value for money. Highly recommend!"

"Location is fantastic, in the heart of the Sydney CBD. Lift is a little slow, but I didn't mind - at least it exists and does work. Personally really enjoyed the capsule life - They're spacious enough to sit up comfortably in, and incredibly well equipped, with a host of charging sockets, light and air circulation controls, ledges for putting your stuff, and a mirror to get ready with as well. Although shower facilities were a tiny bit limited (2 stalls per floor; same for toilets) I didn't encounter a problem where I had to sit around waiting for others to be done, or anything. The lounge is well equipped as well. A thoroughly enjoyable stay, thank you! "

"when we arrived, we were greeted with a very warm welcome and the registration is very fast. although the room is quite small, we don't mind because it is clean and tidy. the service is also very good, the cleaner comes every day and make up our room nicely. the position of this hotel is very close to the city centre and by just walking for a few you can catch a free tourist bus that runs along the elizabeth street around sydney cbd. only downside is that we got room with view to another building on the back of the hotel and some narrow streets which are not very good to look at."

"Hotel is 400 m to Central station, Lite Rail and Museum station, 15/20 min walk to Circular key. Coles and W/worths nearby if you want your own food (the latter near Central station, Coles near China Town which also is about 500 m. Spa and pool open all year and spa is heated. Staff very accommodating - actually went out of their way to help. Accommodation was good (we were on 27th floor) with good views - ours looked towards Central station. Changed towels daily. Quiet room. If you are a senior, go immediately to Central station and obtain the concessional Opal card - on producing interstate seniors card. This allows you UNLIMITED travel (train, bus and ferry) for $2.50 per day (each card holder). We trav all day on ferry, buses and train to Newcastle and Blue Mountains. Recommend train to Bondi jtn t 380 bus to beach then 380 bus to Watsons Bay where you catch ferry or 324 Kings Cross. Stayed in around 6 Sydney hotels at different this is the only one would go back to again."

"My friend and I stayed in a twin room with an ensuite- a nice, comfortable room for a hostel. (Some kind of soap holder would have been appreciated in the shower, though the bathroom was clean and water pressure was good!). All the accomodation in Sydney was very pricey during the weekend of the stay- given the fact, the cost of the room was reasonable. Beds were quite comfortable (double bed + trundle), there was a tv in the room (but no wifi) and the hostel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and we also appreciated the 'cinema' room, which has nightly movie screenings. There are also lockers downstairs where you can put your belongings after checkout ($4 for the first 4 hours and then $2 for the next 4 I think). The staff also helped us to book a YHA discount for the Aquarium. Unfortunately it was quite noisy on Saturday night (seemed mostly to be coming from drunks and hoons on the main road) but Sunday night was much quieter. Would stay there again if on a budget!"

"The hotel is new so the plus side is that the sheets, pillows, towels are nice and new. Because it only opened in March 2019 I am writing down the details. We stayed in a 20sqm twin bed room. Lighting was bright enough and bathroom has a small-ish rain shower. Shower pressure is good. Yes it doesn't have toiletries and the fixed wall shampoo and body wash- needs to be changed. Hotels usually go for essential oil based body stuff these days. Theirs smelled like an anti-dandruff shampoo. Why stay? For the same price or even more in Sydney you would get a lot more dated accomodation. Their pillows were a darn sight better than the various 5 star hotel feather pillows and I have stayed in the 5 star hotels around Sydney CBD. I had less noise bar the slammed doors in the corridors than other hotels. The renovations on floor 5-7- didn't hear it as we were out. I had young toddlers that took the airport link and it's exit 1 to QVB. Walk up and cross the road and you're there. Easy."

"My stay was good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are nice and the hotel is in great shape. Can't beat the location on Darling Habor (highly recommend a room with a harbor view). My only down comment applies to all hotels in Sydney and Australia - the price of breakfast (AU$30 for continental and AU$35 for full) is outrageously expensive."

More about Sydney CBD

Sydney City Center is the financial hub of the city, and is most commonly referred to by locals as the CBD – the Central Business District. The City Center's main transport interchange is Town Hall train station, located underneath the 19th-century Town Hall building – a major Sydney landmark and a common meeting place. Adjacent to the Town Hall is the historic Queen Victoria Building – the QVB – an up-market shopping center.

Other major points of interest within the Sydney CBD are Martin Place, a pedestrian-only street that houses the National Reserve Bank and other major financial headquarters; Wynyard, a major transport hub for rail and bus commuters crossing to North Sydney; and Macquarie Street, home to high-profile businesses, embassies, consulates and Sydney's Parliament House.

While the City Center itself is business-oriented, there are many hotels in Sydney CBD and travelers staying here will find themselves strategically placed to visit the surrounding tourist spots of Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and Chinatown. The CBD is relatively compact and CBD hotels are geared towards business travelers, with executive services and proximity to transport and businesses paramount. Buses, trains and cabs all converge in the CBD but it's possible – and worthwhile – to walk to Darling Harbour, Hyde Park and Circular Quay. Sydney's main rail terminus, Central Station, is also within easy walking distance.

Sydney City Center's chief tourist drawcards are its high-end shopping, its fine dining restaurants and its lively café culture. Famous restaurants include Testuya's and Est, while World Square, the QVB, Pitt Street Mall and Centrepoint are the main shopping malls.

One prolific attraction in Sydney City Center is the 305-meter Sydney Tower above Centrepoint (commonly referred to as Centrepoint Tower). The highest point in Sydney, the tower's observation deck features a revolving restaurant and an open air viewing platform. Views from Sydney Tower are unparalleled.
