Accessible to all you need”
Sydney Central YHA is highly recommended. It is close to bus stops, train stations, restaurants and tourist spots. You can cook your food at the first floor and hang with other guests. Wifi is only available at lobby, 1st floor and rooftop. Room make up is upon request. Our private room is good enough for two people with big luggages and is equipped with tv, water heater, coffee and 4 pillows. Hotel staff are super nice and helpful.

Great location with full facilities available ”
I have stayed at the Sydney Central YHA on previous occasions. Although the cost has increased, the facilities have been improved. There is more YHA staff help in the kitchens although some visitors take advantage of this by not clearing up after themselves. The cafe/restaurant is an alternatieve to self-catering with a varied menu of all-day meals. In taking my booking, I did not observe a facility to advise my YHA membership number but was able to do this after arrival to benefit from the usual YHA members' discount.

Budget Hostel in a Great Location”
Sydney Central YHA was a great location and great value for money. I stayed in the 4 dorm female room and was traveling solo. I had 3 other roommates the first night who were quiet and easy to room with. The following two nights there was only one other person in the room with me and I rarely saw her. The room beds were pretty comfortable and fairly clean. They give you sheets, but bring your own towel. The bathroom was okay, but the showers weren't super clean- of course, you are sharing them with others. The setup of this hostel was great. It had a restaurant on ground floor and a few other eating options including a pizza/bar setup in the basement next door. It had desks to book onward travel and multiple day tours. I took a tour I had pre-booked and conveniently it and many tours to Blue Mountains, etc. meet right in front of hotel. Lots to walk to and a free bus (555) within a block. The bus takes you to and from Circular Quay with stops in between. Sydney can be an expensive hotel city, so the Sydney Central YHA saved me lots of hotel money so I could spend it on enjoying the sights of the city and a day tour.

Cosy budget accomodation”
My friend and I stayed in a twin room with an ensuite- a nice, comfortable room for a hostel. (Some kind of soap holder would have been appreciated in the shower, though the bathroom was clean and water pressure was good!). All the accomodation in Sydney was very pricey during the weekend of the stay- given the fact, the cost of the room was reasonable. Beds were quite comfortable (double bed + trundle), there was a tv in the room (but no wifi) and the hostel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and we also appreciated the 'cinema' room, which has nightly movie screenings. There are also lockers downstairs where you can put your belongings after checkout ($4 for the first 4 hours and then $2 for the next 4 I think). The staff also helped us to book a YHA discount for the Aquarium. Unfortunately it was quite noisy on Saturday night (seemed mostly to be coming from drunks and hoons on the main road) but Sunday night was much quieter. Would stay there again if on a budget!

Good location and comfortable hotel”
It is an unforgettable experience for me to live in the Sydney Central YHA. The location is quite good, easy to catch trains and buses and it is close to the china town which is a nice place for eating and shopping. Moreover, it is a good place to meet different people around the world. Anyway it is an amazing place for backpacker.

Awesome location for the independent traveller”
i was visiting sydney on my own and found this to be a great base for my city sightseeing. the main attractions of sydney can be reached on foot from here, plus it's a short walk to central station and nearby trams/monorail. i didn't use all the facilities, but these included a roof-top pool and sauna which looked good. good laundry facilities and the rooms were typically basic in the style of backpacker accommodation, but very clean and well maintained. i had a private double and would recommend such a room for couples, young families for budget travel in the city. the area is surprisingly quiet for the inner city, which made the stay relaxing.

Location is priceless!”
I have tried both Harbour and Central YHA in Sydney, and this got the best location being accessible to public transportation and places to eat. The staff is commendable. They are very friendly and accommodating! They also prepare activities for travelers. They also offer tours and got a cafeteria just below. Not a good experience with my roomies though, but just not lucky I guess.

Near central station”
Everything is very near. From the train to anywhere in the city and even the provinces. The railway that goes to chinatown and darling harbour is just across the street. Even the buses going to Melbourne and the other provinces. Also there’s a baggage storage at the train station at central you just have to pay on a per hourly basis. But if you are staying at sydney central YHA they allow you to leave your things while you walk and roam around before and after check in, very convenient

Good location and value for money”
A good budget YHA located close to Central Railway giving easy access to trains, airport (bus or train), light rail, interstate buses and Sydney buses. Friendly, helpful staff and clean basic rooms. No frill, if you want pamper and 5 star look elsewhere. All age groups stay and look comfortable here. The common areas are quite spacious and well used. Next door is a cafe which does all meals at a reasonable price, not gourmet but generous and reasonably priced.

First time backpacker”
Located right next to Sydney Central train station, where you can catch a good number of trains to almost anywhere! Secure too, you need your keycard to enter the hotel at night. I stayed in a 4-share male dorm. Each room had a cabinet for each guest. Power ports available within the room, four if I'm not mistaken. Centralized air conditioning (so can't control the temp), but I find the room too warm (I'm the sort of guy who wears a T-shirt when it's zero degrees celsius -- so go figure). I'm particular about the bathroom. You need a keycard to enter the bathroom. Separate shower area from the toilet. The toilet has four cubicles, but it's the sort of cubicle where the lower part isn't covered (sort of when someone's pacing in the room, you'd be seeing their feet LOL). The shower area has completely covered cubicles, save for the upper part (so unless one uses a ladder, you're completely safe from being seen). Walking distance to Paddy's Market... I think it's possible to walk to Darling Harbour as well (well I did). Many convenience stores around. Lots of tourists (noisy tourists + the occasional drunk people at night) around the area. When my friends saw the hostel, they did say it was a good choice (especially for me who, according to them, is a very picky hotel person). No wonder its a five-star hostel! You'd have to pay for the internet. I think they have activities as well (part of the hostel experience I believe), but wasnt able to participate in any as I was too busy going around Sydney.

Everything is great!”
Stayed in a Double Private Room. It had a fruity smell when I came in, but I didn’t mind. It had exactly as pictured in the photos. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities are superb. You can watch movies in their theater at the 2nd floor; it’s also where the common area is situated. Central YHA is very near Central Station. You’ll see it as soon as you exit through Exit 1. I will stay here again when I come back.

Great and Big Hostel”
This hostel was great and very clean! The location was awesome. Being next to Central Station was super convenient. The only downside to my room was the outlets weren't at each bed but by the door. And the big con at this hostel was the wifi. The free one didn't reach the room floors (and wasn't strong). It was annoying to have to go to the first or ground floors to use it, but there's premium wifi for $5 per 24 hours. In general, 30-35 AUD seems like a lot for a hostel, but perhaps it isn't in Sydney. Regardless, I highly recommend this place!

worth the money”
Everytime I visit Sydney, this hotel is always be my first option. Even though its a backpacker hotel, however, the place is very clean, quiet, and the room is spacious. The hotel just right on the front door of sydney central station and very close to paddy's market as well sydney's CBD.

Nice”
Nice experience. Because I only have one day in Sydney and it is my first time here the worker at the front desk gave me a map and I experienced what I can. it is just that there is no wifi in the room, and the light in room is dark, so the YHA is suitable for rest but no long stay at night.

One of the best options in Sydney”
The people from the reception to housekeeping were all very welcoming. Right next to the central station so traveling in and out of Sydney; not to mention to and from the airport are hassle-free. Will definitely pick this when I return back since I am already planning on a return trip back hopefully by next year.

The best backpacker hostel in Sydney”
It's very good to stay in Sydney Central YHA. Very close to Central Station, just walk downstairs, and you can see Sydney Central YHA exactly in front of Central Station. They have free movie teather every morning and evening with free pop corn. I took the double room and it's like 4 stars hotel. Enjoy it very much..
