The Tanzeno Hotel, Nong Khai”

I really liked the Tanzeno hotel. While Nong Khai is not a large Thailand City, the hotel is minutes off the main highway to Vientiane. The rooms were modern, clean and well-furnished; the hotel was good value for money. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My stay was highlighted by an unfortunate incident – my fault entirely. The room had a safe and as I usually do when I stay in a hotel, I put my key documents in the hotel safe. Well for the first time in my life I did not empty the safe before I vacated the room and left my passport, credit cards, a fairly large amount of cash and other key documents in the hotel safe and drove to my home some 700 km South of Nong Khai. I did not realize until I got a phone call from the lady in my city who owns a taxi service to tell me some 2 days after I arrived home that she had been contacted by the Tanzeno hotel to inform me that I had left my passport and other items in the hotel safe. I have no idea how the hotel got her phone number. When I realized what I had done, I called to hotel and spoke to Ms. Doe, one of the hotel managers and she told me what had happened. She asked me how she can get the documents back to me, I gave her my address and she sent the items back to me by Thailand Post. This morning I received the package with all my documents, cash, credit cards etc. What a relief! So this note is a thank you to the staff at the Hotel Tanzeno for their honesty and their extensive efforts to return these documents to me and also to the Thailand Postal Service. If you look on the Thailand blogs, you will see the Thailand Postal service gets bad reviews. It took 2 working days for the package to get to me and their on line tracking system was very good giving me updates of where the package was. So if you ever have a need to stay in Nong Khai, I highly recommend the Tanzeno Hotel. You will not be disappointed!

An AMAZING find in Nong Khai”

I LOVE this hotel. If this room was in New York City it would cost about $300 USD. The room design is not normal Thai, in any way. I was told their home office is in the tourist south and this explains how they have such a great design. The room is very modern, very clean, very comfortable and very nice. The hotel is 10 minutes walk to the border and for 80 baht per day you can leave your car in their parking lot (just talk to the staff before you check-out). I wish they had this hotel chain in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, the other places I travel in Thailand. I can't believe this hotel is located in Nong Khai. The room is as nice and nicer than the photos. It's a very good value, no make that an EXCELLENT value. My feedback to the hotel is that their breakfast choices are odd and overly Asian-themed. Instead of a buffet we were given a short menu of northern style breakfast. To their credit they did make a western breakfast for me when I asked, so in the end I was happy. And to clarify, western breakfast to me means eggs in some manner, toast or something like it, and milk or juice. This hotel's coffee blend, oddly, is superb -- a blend they ship in from their main hotel in the south. Their coffee is very close to the rich chocolate-like flavor of true Vietnamese coffee (which is hard to find in Thailand, and amazing in taste). Overall I would give this hotel a rating of 9 out of 10, and I am no easy rater of hotels. I've stayed all over the world and this is one of those fun and amazing surprises that you find once in a while while traveling. Thanks Tanzeno for a great stay!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in Thailand! Hotel owners in Thailand need to stay at Tanzeno to see how a real hotel is run. The owner of this hotel should be proud of a job well done. Staff helped take care of our 4 month old son while my wife ate her breakfast. I was in Laos doing my visa at the time. When I returned from Laos all three of us went for breakfast, again the staff offered to watch our son while we enjoyed our breakfast without interruption. We can't say enough good things about this hotel. We really love this place and will return and recommend it to all our family and friends. Thank you Tanzeno for giving us such a great experience!

A very pleasant property”

I arrived at 9 in the morning expecting checkin at 2 in the afternoon. I was immediately given a room. Neatly functional to the max. The hotel is very close to immigration and Friendship Bridge. Although not near to the riverside area it is only 30 baht by tuktuk. I explained to the front desk of places I wanted to see and they advised taking a tuktuk. A member of the staff accompanied me out to the street, hailed a tuktuk, and explained to the driver of my choices. Above and beyond service. If I return to Nong Khai I will definitely stay here again. It is also the only place I have stayed that offers spaghetti bolognese for breakfast. Well done Tanzeno.

A very pleasant surprise”

After a 12 hour train ride from Bangkok I was very much looking forward to getting to the hotel and being able to freshen up, however given that Nong Khai is a border town was not expecting too much. What a very pleasant surprise to arrive at Tanzeno Hotel. It is a very modern, clean and well appointed hotel. The staff were welcoming and efficient and helpful. The room itself was large and most comfortable. The breakfast choices were limited but adequate. The hotel is ideally located for those travelling to Laos, as it is very close to the Friendship Bridge and also the Nong Khai railway station. I have already booked another stay there on my return journey, and would recommend to anyone.

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR THE MONEY, GOOD SIZE ROOMS”

Very smooth stay. The hotel is new & clean. The room was of a good size all well equipped. English news & movies were available, not a given for an hotel of this price in Thailand.Its nearly a stone throw away from the Lao border, very convenient for those who wish to go there. The hotel is located off the main road but the traffic was not a bother, quiet room indeed. The river front activity area is a few minute's drive away and so are the local markets & street foods. There is a good noodle street franchise in front of the hotel, very handy for a quick meal when late or in a hurry. There is a Lotus Express & a Seven Eleven across the street. I will definitely stay there again.

Big car park . Quick check In. Rooms large and so clean. Lovely comfatable beds . Big bathroom , large shower . Balcony . Very modern rooms . Big tv . Got to be the first hotel I've stayed in where the photos of the rooms are the same as the actual rooms ! Great breakfast too . Can not fault this hotel . Free bikes to use to . Proper mountain bikes . Ok so 80 baht taxi in to nong khai . Wouldn't bother staying anywhere else in nong khai now . This place has it all , and so so clean. A bargain.

Small but nice hotel ”

Tanzeno is a small and nice hotel, I would give the design of the room a big A+, they look like a 4 star hotel, breakfast looks pover but in fact it isn't, you can order the chef what ever you want and he'll try to serve you, friendly staff, oh stay away from the bridge, nothing special

Excellent Hotel”

There is no better hotel for the money in this area of Thailand. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Thai border. It is a very clean hotel with a modern design that is pleasing. The bed is comfortable, the room furnishings are luxurious, the bathroom is very large and modern. For those traveling across the border you can leave your car in their car park for 80 baht per day - just let them know before you leave, pay the fee, and you will get a receipt to put in the car's window showing you paid to park there. At night there is a market about a ten minute walk, just next to the railroad tracks. Here you will find all manner of Thai foods, fruit, drinks and a wide variety of small items to purchase.

A little bit of modern luxury away from home”

I enjoyed my stay here very much,mad I arrived I was greeted by welcoming smiling faces,( I like that), and swiftly checked in. The rooms have been professionally made over by a dupa dupa interior designer who knows their job well, the room gives you a feel of something a bit special, so it was well worth the price. Everything you would want from a hotel room was there, and in the right place for comfort and convenience,. The only thing missing was breakfast, they have no facility for food or drinks, but directly over the road was a 7/11, that saved the day ( early morning coffee is a must for me). The hotel is in walking distance of the Thai / Laos border. So treat yourself, will stay there again for sure, highly recommended!

Great Value Accommodation ”

Our stay was pleasant. The room is spacious and the bathroom is unusually large for hotel room in this price point. Breakfast portion is generous and you can order more if you want. Definitely great value for your money.

Newly build hotel, cheap and good”

The hotel is newly build. It locates out of center of the town. You need to have car if you stay there. The room and facility are good. The rate is cheap. Service is standard.

Very good quality/price ratio”

The hotel is located near the Friendship bridge (Immigration Dept.) to cross into Laos, thus one needs a taxi / tuktuk to get to downtown. The hotel is well maintained and clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was fine. I would certainly choose the hotel again when returning to Nong Khai because of the excellent quality/price ratio.

Excellent Location for Laos”

The hotel could not be located any better for my trips to Laos. The breakfast was very good---both western and local menus. The food was fresh each day and very well prepared. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, I would like to single out the Manager, Ms. Dodda as the outstanding staff member. The rooms were very comfortable and well laid out. A great value and a great place to stay in Nong Khai. This hotel made my trip!!

comfy bed, very small fridge ,great buffet breakfast, eggs to order all food hot or warm. toilet seat did not match toilet. be very careful in shower floor is very slick when wet , tile looks good but not very safe when wet! rooms have easy to use safe. there is (NOTHING ) in the hotel area other than being in walking distance to border! a few small restaurants 1 to 2 min walk , 7-11 across street, thats it!! tuk tuk to bar zone by the mekong river (good area for eat and drink quiet and relaxing) will cost 80 bahts. tv very poor and snowy. will recommend if your purpose has to do with border crossing.

Good and comfortable hotel”

Good hotel in Nong Khai. Staff great and hotel is very new. Quiet location but still close to everything. A little bit away from main city centre but easy to get to.

Suprised”

Stopped over for the night during Songkran. Surprised at price of hotel and cleanliness -both good. More surprised that all restaraunts on riverside walkway were CLOSED. Like WHY? It's Songkran guys! Make money during the holidays !

The hotel is in a quiet location, near some shop and 7/11. the room is clean and the bathroom is very big. the staff is kind and always ready to help you. Breakfast is good too, you can eat from buffet or order some food. Everything was perfect except wifi in the room very slowly. Anyway I recommend it!
