Beautiful resort but the staff will be the reason we return! ”

My wife and I didn't quite know what to expect from Tejaprana Resort and Spa due to the limited number of reviews but, once we arrived (April 2016), we were pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival we were greeted by Wodi, the concierge, who gave us a quick tour of the resort while, the doorman tended to our luggage. The tour of the facility concluded in our villa (107) sitting poolside, overlooking the rainforest. Wodi, gave us information about their complementary shuttle service to Ubud City Center, daily yoga sessions, the wifi code, breakfast hours, and how to schedule the 15 minute welcome massage while he completed the checkin process. Wodi concluded our checkin with the delivery of welcome drinks and a query about any dietary or special requirements. The resort looks better in person than it did in the photos and is the perfect mix of luxury and the great outdoors naturally infused with the peace and serenity you expect from Bali. Tejaprana is located in Northern Ubud about a 2 minute walk from local shopping areas and about a 10 minute shuttle ride from the Ubud City Center. However, you'd never know that civilization was near while relaxing in the heart of the resort. The true highlight of Tejaprana outside of the beautifully crafted facility is the staff! Generally speaking, the people in Bali are warm, inviting and heartfelt people and the staff of the hotel embodies that hospitality with a refined attention to detail. The entire staff, from wait staff to service people knew us by name, tended to every need/request promptly, and made us feel truly welcome. Nightly, after our daily excursions, we were greeted with a daily welcome basket that, included a variety of local fruit and refreshments, and a comical cultural fairytale, BTW don't be Bodoh, LOL! Exceptional”

I stayed here with my partner at the end of our Bali stay for my birthday weekend. What can I say, Wow this place is amazing!! We loved every minute at Tejaprana and didn't want to leave. We chose a Valley view room for uninterrupted views of the rainforest and it was definitely with the extra $$. Our room was beautifully furnished with a gorgeous outdoor area with sun lounge, bath and plunge pool. The plunge pool was quite cold but refreshing after a hot day and by night we chose a warm bath on the balcony to unwind. On the first night I accidentally sent my driver home before dropping us into town for dinner and the staff at reception were quick to arrange a driver for 140,000RP (about $14AUD) to drop us to our restaurant and we caught the hotel shuttle back. When we returned the staff brought a cake to our room singing happy birthday, not 1 staff member but 5... slightly embarrassing but a nice touch and the cake was delicious. The following morning we arranged room service to deliver us breakfast at 6:30am (before breakfast started at 7am) as we had an early morning pick up and it arrived on time. Eating breakfast outside on the sun lounge watching the sun come up was a highlight, and the breakfast was amazing. On the second night, my 11 year old son who was unwell joined us and the staff went above and beyond calling him doctors etc. They also allowed him to stay for no additional charge and provided him breakfast the next morning for no additional charge. We ate dinner in the restaurant that night and found the prices reasonable and the food really great. On our check out day the staff allowed us to store our luggage until we were picked up at 6pm and allowed us to book a room in the spa to shower prior to going to the airport. We also enjoyed the complimentary 15 minute massage and afternoon tea during our stay. Unforgettable Honeymoon Experience!”

Our stay has been nothing short of amazing from the very start. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out all was exceptional. The resort is located in the Jungle of Ubud with amazing views. Our villa was breathtaking and really set the tone for an amazing honeymoon experience in Bali. The staff were so kind and attentive. You can tell that they genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay with them and for us to have an overall pleasant experience. When we checked in we were welcomed with fresh drinks which we very much appreciate after a long flight. After that we were escorted to our villa in which we were given a detailed tour of the of it and the hotel itself explaining everything. A very nice touch as usually hotels only give you your room card and send you on your way but not this one. The breakfast at Tejaprana was outstanding. Rather than the usual buffet styles that you find at other hotels you get a 5 star dining experience with all you can eat too. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment at Tejaprana Hotel and spa. We would like to thank everyone at Tejaprana Hotel and Spa for an unforgettable experience.

Serene Jungle Oasis”

Our Valley View villa at Tejaprana was the perfect jungle oasis on the outskirts of Ubud. Even though Tejaprana is not located within Ubud center, to me this was more of a plus than a negative: we had the option of retreating back to our quiet room in the middle of the jungle, or taking the complementary hotel shuttle to town whenever we wanted. If you stay at Tejaprana, I highly recommend staying in the Valley View room: which affords you clear, unimpeded views of the jungle below; and stunning views of the sunrise, which we watched from our personal balcony/outdoor area every morning. I've stayed in similar villas in Thailand at 5+ times the price of Tejaprana; and I enjoyed our Tejaprana villa much more. Even though the resort doesn't have a gym (not many do, from what I've seen), we were able to make do on our own; as well as taking advantage of the free yoga classes at the resort. All-in-all, I highly recommend Tejaprana - feels like a $1K+ villa at a fraction of the cost!

Beautiful property”

This was our second trip to the Ubud area, after a 20-year gap, and we had been warned that Ubud has become much more commercial and touristy. We were somewhat apprehensive as Dewa, the excellent young driver who picked us up at the airport, turned from a busy road into the driveway down to the hotel. There was no need to worry, as, once arrived at the reception area, one is in a quiet paradise. The staff is uniformly friendly and efficient. We especially appreciated Taum, who manages the excellent restaurant. Our room, with its own plunge pool, was extremely comfortable and good value at $210/night including the copious breakfast. The call to prayer at 5:45 a.m. from a mosque on the other side of the ravine wasn't a big problem. Otherwise there is complete tranquility. Once on the cruise ship, we stopped for a day in Celukan Bawang in northwest Bali. We would recommend pairing a visit to the Tejaprana Resort with a stay somewhere in the northwest which is the "real" Bali.

Exceptional”

We stayed at Tejaprana for 5 nights for a wedding anniversary trip. The resort exceeded our expectations. The ambience is excellent with lush gardens and wonderful architecture. The valley view villa is very private, comfortably appointed and with scenic views. The food at the restaurant was very good and the staff were accommodating regarding dietary requirements. Service was excellent, every member of staff we dealt with was a credit to the resort. The location as others have stated is a drive out of Ubud. This is not a bad thing if you are looking for a truly peaceful, romantic resort based holiday. Be aware the drive from the airport to the resort is 2 hours as the traffic in Bali is very heavy. Tejaprana is a beautiful boutique resort well suited to those seeking privacy, understated luxury, romance and tranquility in Ubud.

Stayed at The Tejaprana Resort and Spa for three nights in the Terrace Villa. The villa is A-MA-ZING! 😍 It is by far the most beautiful room I have ever stayed in. The pictures from different websites, do not do this villa justice. All of the staff at the Tejaprana were very friendly and attentive, and nothing ever felt “forced” or “too much”, like it sometimes can. It felt like they genuinely cared. The service was also extremely good. On my last day I was checking out at 6 o’clock in the morning, and they brought my breakfast to the room at 5, two hours before the restaurant opened. Not just a to-go breakfast, but everything from omelette to fruit and muesli - at no extra charge! Would I recommend this resort to my friends and family? Most definitely! Just go, you will not be disappointed 😉

Paradise in Ubud”

The Tejaprana was the highlight of our two weeks in Bali, we stayed for 3 nights a day it was really excellent. Previously we have stayed at the Ubud village resort which was also on par with the Tejaprana so it's hard say which was better. The Tejaprana rooms are really beautiful the infinity plunge pool, and outside bath is stunning but it's the views and service that made it so special. It's also relatively small, it clings to the mountainside like a tree house and with a relatively small collection of mini villa style rooms. The breakfasts and room service were good not quite as excellent as the ubud village, but shuttles to Ubud were reliable. The pool is a little small and not fit for a proper swim, but nice to cool off and admire the lush misty jungle.

Awesome Stay”

My family and I visited the Tejaprana Resort during June 2016. We were very impressed with the service and the hospitality rendered by the hotel. We stayed at the Valley Villas and the view was breathtaking. (A must stay!) Rooms were tastefully funished with a small plunge pool. The restaurant area was designed using bamboos with lots of over-hanging rattan lights enhancing the overall rustic ubud feel. The hotel also offers complimentary afternoon tea (a culture in ubud) and free shuttle to ubud center. which makes the stay in hotel even more enjoyable. Beautifully designed jungle Sanctuary near Ubud ”

We spent two nights in Tejaprana during our honeymoon in Indonesia. While we were in a lot of nice hotels, Tejaprana really pulled out all the stops to make us feel incredibly welcome and help us celebrate our honeymoon. The jungle view villas are incredible: meticulously designed with a mix of Balinese and Japanese influences. The entire hotel grounds including the restaurant (well priced and super yummy!) and the spa are just magical. The hotel has a lot of detailed finishing touches that truly make you feel like you’re part of the Bali culture (outside stone bathtub, local “Bedtime stories” delivered to your room, etc). We loved our stay and would genuinely always come back to this heavenly place!

Exceptional”

We reserved two Terrace Villas for four nights in December.. The entrance to the resort is hidden along the roads and identifiable by a small sign. Once we entered, it felt like we were in a different world. It was tranquil. We were welcomed by exceptionally friendly staff, and it stayed that whole throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and pool in our rooms were great for the kids - we loved the tub next to the pool as well where we could dip into warm water after a cool swim. The larger pool right next to the restaurant was convenient for us as the kids swam and we enjoyed our drinks by the poolside. There was free afternoon tea with light snacks everyday. The food is local but I think it was cooked slightly milder for the foreign tourists to enjoy. We also had a couple of days of relaxing massage and our kids enjoyed the daily bedtime stories sent to our rooms. Most importantly, we wish to thank all staff in Tejaprana Resort & Spa for their exceptional hospitality.

Heaven on Earth”

Im completely in love with this place, Tejaprana resort and spa. I love the coffee aroma that waft up towards me when I stepped into the hotel, love the fact that im almost completely surrounded by nature, love the high and beautiful rooftop, love the infinity pool and outdoor stone bathtub which overlooks the glorious greenery, love the sun peeking through the morning fog, love the pretty ladies with their genuine smiles serving me breakfast and dinner, love the fresh air, love the crafts which are the true gems of ubud sold right outside this resort, theres no need to go to ubud centre. It is not without its flaws with algae on some of its walls, spider webs on the lamps and I strongly urge the management to be stricter on the maintainence of this heaven on earth.

A jewel in the Jungle”

Upon arriving at Tejaprana you will immediately feel a sense of serenity and oneness with nature. Our villa was practically at the foot of the jungle, and you could just see and smell the trees surrounding you. Each villa has a plunge pool and a gazebo, and very clean. The interiors of the whole resort was outstanding, you could see that they paid attention to details. Each decoration was well thought of, a work of art. Breakfast was superb, with everyday having specials from Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine, to scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. We are very fuzzy when it comes to hotels and prefer Boutique Hotels to the huge 5-Star chain. But everything at Tejaprana was just perfect! We have been trying to find any fault so as not to give this resort a perfect score, but it did impress us that we could only give them the perfect 10! Keep up the good work, and we will see you very soon!

An awesome resort capturing the real essence of Ubud and balinese culture”

If I can add something to what many already said about this awesome resort, is that the Tejaprana and its staff succeed in providing not just a highest quality stay experience, but also the chance of living in total harmony with the unique Ubud surroundings, through the hotel's perfect integration in the natural environment, the overall atmosphere, the breathtaking design of the villas, the attention to any detail concerning the architecture and the decor of the common spaces as well as of the villas themselves and the service offered. It's something difficult to explain by words yet easy to perceive since when you arrive in the beautifully decorated reception. It's not just a matter of luxury (which can be found in many hotels around the world), is more a perfect balance between what could be done to satisfy the guests' expectations and what can be offered to respect and enhance the awesome surrounding environment and the essence of local culture. Highly recommended, to say the least.

I almost cried when we left!”

The Tejaprana was AMAZING!!! We stayed there for 9 nights and it was so difficult to leave. It's a beautiful medium sized resort, fairly new (only a few years old), beautiful modern/Indonesian decor and very clean. We stayed in a two-bedroom villa and it was huge -- two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room and our own pool. In the US, it would have probably cost over $1,000 a night and we paid about $400 (in the high season). If you stay in a one-bedroom villa, it will be a bit cheaper. The restaurant was incredible (we ate a majority of our meals there). There was a complimentary breakfast every morning (you can order anything off the menu you want -- I highly recommend the ricotta pancakes and the watermelon juice). The staff were all amazing -- so friendly, so helpful, and there was genuinely so much heart in everything they did. We went to a couple of other resorts for meals and we felt like there was a big difference from the Tejaprana staff (not as warm at the others).

The stay at Tejaprana Resort and Spa was lovely. The view from our one bedroom villa was calming and green. Landscaping at the resort is carefully thought-out and beautiful. My kids enjoyed the outdoor bath in their villa. Highly recommended to stay at this resort if you wish to excape the hustle and bustle of Ubud town. It is only minutes' drive from Ubud centre.

Excellent Stay!”

Amazing location, excellent staff friendliness, mind blowing valley view and one of the most peaceful locations to stay in! Extremely satisfied with the stay, food was excellent and spa/massage was really very soothing. Although little far from the Ubud main market, the experience here was too good! The private pool facing the valley adds to the serenity of the whole property. If you're looking for a resort to relax and engross yourself in nature, then Tejaprana is the place!! highly recommended!

Perfection is the right word here !!!”

Perfection is the right word here !!! Brand new resort with a very nice and friendly personnel. The attention to the design of the resort surroundings including the main restaurant Arwana continuing with all the furniture and of course the incredible design of the rooms. We have stayed for 4 nights in, I think the nicest Valley Villa thay they are having (103 - please request for this one) with an incredible view over the lush vegetation and two coconut tree in front of us. The room has an incredible design, with a massive bed with higher ceiling, an incredible lounge area with a table and private courtyard, a gorgeous bath with rain shower and an outside bath and last but not least, the main attraction of the room, the incredible and amazing your private infinity pool which is giving you the best view over the tropical nature. The rooms (all of them) are having great views, but if you want something very special please pay the extra money for a Valley Villa (it worth every cent). I cannot compare with anything the feeling when you are coming home after a long day visiting Bali island and enter in the room and then in your infinity pool and admire the surroundings which are incredible. The resort itself is very small, only 28 cozy villas and the attention to details can be seen even from the reception area. The breakfast can be taken also in the fabulous Arwana restaurant which has stunning views over the luxuriant vegetation. I cannot describe in the words, what you can feel when you are waking up in the morning and listen the nature (insects, birds etc.) The resort it will give you the right and needed energy to start your everyday journey in exploring the beautiful Bali island. The resort itself is very peacefully and intimate. I'm encouraging all the new married couples to stay here as is perfect for honeymooners. Amazing value, friendly staff, clean & great food”

We started our honeymoon trip in Bali at Tejaprana. Wow! What an amazing hotel! We loved everything — from our super clean room to the welcoming staff to the tasty included breakfast, we really enjoyed our stay. We even enjoyed the spa a little bit! The hotel is a tad far from downtown, but we just ended up taking cabs or riding the complimentary shuttle. Not a big deal and worth the trek!

we enjoyed our stay at Tejaprana, Breakfast was really delicious,our double room was very lush and comfy, the only let down were the restricted views, we booked the property to over look the rain forest, we looked into the back of all the hut roofs, that was disappointing.Tip: request lower level rooms.The resort is amazing and the staff were always more than happy to assist, shuttle is convenient as the resort is about 10min out of Ubud. Yoga class included in stay,teacher is wonderful (smile) om shanti we will be back, different room.
