A beautiful, intimate guest house & delicious food”
I recommend The 4 fish highly- it is a gorgeous little place, with scenic surrounds and clean rooms. The balcony and pool areas are lovely, the food is excellent and varied, and the owners were accommodating to my needs- organising tours, airport pickups, massage and all meals. I only wish I had longer to stay there. Thirty minutes to the airport, thirty minutes to Manado- it's well worth a stay for some relaxation as well as visiting the local scuba diving spots.

i ended up in tongkaina just by chance... and that was it, it was just good luck! i had great week there and couldn't imagine of a better place to stay while i was following a diving course in the diving center (5 min walk from guesthouse). as said in the pros, the house is beautiful and so are the rooms, with great views from the terrace, nice swimming pool but above all, really nice owners that make you feel like at home! and if this wasn't enough, dinner is amazingly good, different every night but always surprisingly nice. if one day i have the chance to go there again, i will definitely stay at the 4 fish. thank you jan and ineke!!! :)

Great intimate hotel”
we discovered 4 fish during our stay in manado last december and had a great stay there. we loved the placed and the owners' hospitality (jan and eneke) is making your time a 4 fish a memorable one. we also enjoyed the diving at thalassa diving center (conveniently located near the 4 fish hotel, at around 5mn walking distance)

Great atmosphere and fantastic service”
we have stayed in 4fish for 3 nights, and we did not want to leave the place. so we will definitely come back! we recommend this boutique hotel because of: -great atmoshpere, due to location in small village, view over palm trees and other greeneries. it is nice, relaxing and quiet. the pool is a delight and the massage was excellent. -the staff was friendly, our room was cleaned every day (incl towels). the included diner was delicious and all the guests agreed! -the service provided by the owners was really good: pickup and return from/to airport; arranging of diving/snorkeling trip; driving us for one day tour through country-site to visit spice plantations, sulfur springs and more; going out of their way to bring our lost cell phone to us at the airport, before we went back home.

I am happy to meet the couple original of Holland who live in this place during longtime who speak well indo. The hotel has only good things to say, cozy room, beautiful garden, good food, they are nice and arranging. Many facilities : you have internet, AC(surcharge), hot water shower, scooter(rental). So really everything I need. The diving point was nice but I was attacked by jellyfish. The diving center nearby needs more professionalism, compared to the price they asked.

Small, Cosy and Quiet but has seen better days”
PROS * Basic but cosy * Clean and tidy * Calm and quiet countryside location * Very tasty evening meals, as much as you want to eat * Nice swimming pool, regularly cleaned and maintained * Free water, tea and coffee available throughout most of the day CONS * It has a "tired and old" feel to much of it and needs some money spent on it * The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable (2 other rooms said the same) * The price is the same as the nearby 4 star Grand Luley Resort which makes it feel overpriced even though it's like comparing apples to oranges * The extras such as trips, massages etc also feel overpriced compared to booking these directly. However, it's a small, remote location and sourcing things yourself can be difficult * The Dutch owners don't live on site but are there mornings and evenings and eat dinner with the guests in a communal dining area. Whilst this is a friendly and positive gesture it can also feel like eating dinner with the matron or the headmistress.

Nice Hotel”
every dinner, all guests gather at the same table and talk each other. this is a good time. of course the dishes are so delicious! room is clean and well maintained. please notice the shower doesn't have hot water.

Mixed Feelings about this place... great location, amazing food and owners but its very run down”
Its vastly overpriced, when i was here it was the same price as a 4 star hotel 2 minutes away, the place is really run down, no aircon, uncomfortable beds, 2 single beds not a double, no hot water so less than 1 star, BUT the owners were very friendly and te view from te terrace is gorgeous AND best of all the dinner was sooooooo good!

Rooms are small and dark”
I don't understand why there are so many good reviews about Four Fish Hotel. - Rooms are small and dark: you need to switch on the lights even during the day. They are also hot (no good ventilation). - The bathroom is really small, like a closet with a curtain to separate the toilet from the shower. – No hot water and little water pressure. - There is no fresh food for breakfast: only industrial bread and cornflakes. Some bananas if you are lucky. - When I was there, the owners were out most of the time (and the staff don't speak english). You are on your own. - A snorkeling trip to Bunaken, with the gigantic hotel Luley next door, costs 650 000 rupiah per person. Which is at least three times more expensive than elsewhere. - The only good thing in Four Fish Hotel is their terrasse.

Entspannung pur inmitten der Natur ”
Der Aufenthalt im 4 Fish war eines der Highlights unserer Sulawesi Reise. Die Lage ist zwar etwas Abseits der gewohnten Touristen- und Stadtpfade; für einen entspannten, relaxten Urlaub jedoch allemal der quirligen und lauten Stadt Manado vorzuziehen. Einen besonderen Dank & Lob geht an das Personal: absolute Spitze! Jan und Inke sowie deren Mitarbeiter sind absolut hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und stehen jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Seien es Touren ins Umland, die Planung der Ab- und/oder Weiterreise oder das Versenden von Postkarten, hier bleibt wirklich kein Wunsch offen. Wir haben jeden Tag in vollen zügen genossen und freuen uns auf eine hoffentlich baldige Rückkehr.

Goed rustpunt én uitvalsbasis voor excursies”
Ondanks dat de eigenaren een Nederlands echtpaar is, heeft de sfeer en de ligging een optimaal gevoel in Indonesië te zijn. In dat licht moet men ook kijken naar de voorzieningen (geen warm water met name). Het eten, dat deel uitmaakt van de dagprijs, is lekker en door een Indonesische kokkie klaargemaakt. Vooral de kamers boven met groot terras, hebben een prachtig uitzicht. Het enige dat we misten was "het spuitje naast het toilet" ; ook voor Nederlanders een schoon gemak. Gewoon gaan proberen en zelf ervaren! Omdat het niet ver van het vliegveld ligt is deze accommodatie goed als begin- of eindpunt van een verblijf op Noord-Sulawesie

Rustig, ontspannen, duikvakantie”
The Four Fish is ideaal voor duikers. Transport naar Thalassa dive center wordt verzorgd. Ook het avondeten is geweldig.
