Clean quiet stay”

If you are in Hat Yai, I would definitely recommend a stay at the Aree Hat Yai. The hostel was clean, had comfy beds, and a cool balcony to hang out on. There was also a full kitchen with plenty of bread and tea and coffee. Good location and really helpful, friendly host that spoke amazing english

I booked this hostel just to have a place to sleep for a few hours on my way down to Malaysia, arriving late at night and leaving early in the morning. But when I arrived, I wished I would be staying longer! The staff person was incredibly helpful and greeted me with a nice cup of pandan drink even though I was super late to check in and didn't notify, the facilities were all super clean and looked great, I loved the batik deco on the beds and the curtains were great for privacy. Will definitely come back to The Aree if I'm ever in Hat Yai again!

Perfect stay ”

Decided to stop in hat yai for a night on our way to langkawi. The hostel was perfect! Our own room with a bunk bed, good air con and basic tea/toast for breakfast was a nice touch. It's close to many food options and a 5 min walk from the train station. Staff were very helpful with any questions that needed answered. Only con was that there were not enough bathrooms but we managed to get by......Would stay again!

Value for money and good location”

The hostel is located in the heart of Hat Yai where you can easily access to many shops and restaurant, staff is very attentive and friendly and can guide you where to go and how to get there. Room is comfortable and clean. They also provide you continental breakfast (tea/ coffee/ breads and jam). Overall, i would recommend this to friends.

Brillant Hostel in a great location. ”

I would recommend this hostwl for everyone. It's clean, spacious, great location, helpful staff and secure. I stayed in the female dorm which was great. It had large beds with plugs and individual lights and a thick curtain for some privacy. There was also a bath and shower and great balcony that I didn't know about. The guy that owns it was super friendly and even organised my bus ticket To Krabi for the next day with ease and didn't have to worry about anything. Hat Yai is also a great city and was lovely to visit with amazing markets and shopping. I would give 10 stars if I could...

Comfortable beds clean bathrooms awesome staff”

Stayed here twice! Awesome staff (new owners) Helped me get sorted with minibus/ferry to Ko Lipe. Had chok dee dim sum with the owner and her family. Beds had some curtains for some privacy, 1 outlet and light. there were a few wardrobes/lockers for storage. Warm showers available but in this hot weather I’m happy with a cold shower. But anyway, Hat Yai was just a stop by place for me. Didn’t do much, so can’t comment on activities around the facilities. Maybe the food!?

Friendly Hostel”

The room was cosy with a bunk bed and a big wooden wardrobe. There is free breakfast which consists of toast and is limited to three slices per person but coffee and tea is unlimited and the staff is super friendly. The walls are a little thin so you can hear people in the other rooms talking. Overall the it's good value and was ideal for a short stay in Hat Yai.

Great hostel in Hat Yai which is usually devoid of them. Staff are super helpful and friendly. The beds are comfy, there's a kitchen and lots of teak wood upstairs. Their friends run a good restaurant on the corner too! Will stay again!

Probably the best hostel in hatyai”

Aree is a new hostel with the potential to become 1 of the best of its kind in hatyai. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly. The bed was nice enough for a good night sleep, the room I had even has a balcony bigger than most hotels I have stayed. Last but not least, it can get a bit crazy at night for some drinking & cultural exchange session. :)

The Aree hostel is such a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff and boss ready to give assistance and advice at all time, help us with motorbike rental, booking for tuk-tuk etc. As we arrived hatyai early in the morning, they even allow us for early check-in after our breakfast without any extra charging. Location is 10-15min walking distance to Lee Garden. Totally value for money, will definitely check in again if visit Hatyai in the future.

Awesome! The place to be!”

Had the best stay at this hostel at our journey through Southeast Asia. Chanyoot, our host, were the best we've met. We got free fruits and snacks and you can make yourself coffee and tee. His wife also served us dinner! The room is really clean and nice. Location of the hostel is near the railway/ bus station, so perfect! He arranged for us also a bus for a really good price to Malaysia. I would totally recommend everyone to stay here, even if your not planning to stay in HatYai!

Warm hospitality and they have an airfryer :)”

I've never seen a hostel with an airfyer as one of the facilities. You could warm up your fried things there and with less oil of course. In the dining room, there's always free snacks. And the breakfast is provided too: toasts + jams. The owner speaks good English, check-in was smooth, and communication before the arrival was smooth, she responded to my questions fast. From the terminal to here costs around 60 BHT. The owner told me where to get foods nearby. There are many choices. The room is spacious. The bed is okay, not soft. The bathroom is old. No towel. The building is old, more than 30 years old. The laundry is next door. Location is good, close to the station. Most of all, I received warm hospitality, the owner shared her passion for making natural soaps, and she is so kind giving me the samples, and I really like it. Thank you so much for letting us stay here.

Perfect Pitstop”

We spent one night at the Hostel on route to Koh Lipe. We caught a late night flight from Chiang Mai and arrived at midnight. We had emailed the Hostel ahead of time to notify them of late arrival and the owner, Pun advised that this was no problem and that we could get a taxi from the airport for 300baht. We had a private room and shared bathroom, all clean, comfortable and perfect for one night stay. Very friendly gentleman from Malaysia at reception and complimentary coffee, toast & jam in the morning. 5-10min walk to Railway station to catch van for Koh Lipe Ferry. Super convenient.

Pleasant 2 nights stay”

The woman staff was nice. She let us checked in 1 hour early and even explained to us about attractions nearby. The facilities all same as advertised. Free bread and coffee for breakfast. The only thing that i disliked is that the wall is so thin till i can hear everyone's voice inside my room. And considering that many people have complained the same, i thought at least the staff gonna be careful to not make any noise but nope. The sound of them cleaning woke me up at 12/1 am which makes i wonder why they choose that time to clean. I am a light sleeper so that irks me a bit. Other than sound problem, everything was nice so i really recommend this hostel to everyone else.

Exceptional”

Best place & worth the money. The staff was very friendly and kind. The room also clean except we can hear the footsteps as it is a wooden type hostel. But it does not bother much. We checked out a bit late but the staff did not ask us to pay extra charge. He also find us a trasnport to go back. This place is worth to go if you’re going to backpack and want to save money!

The hostel is so nice: very clean, so cozy and with dreat location! By the way with free tea, coffee and snacks! We felt ourself like at home! The room is not big but nice, comfortable beds, there was wardrobe in our room, aircon, fan! Very good Wi-Fi! And so friendly and nice owner! We stayed there for 3 nights and we liked it!

Lovely place to stay while in HatYai!”

I generally love this hostel and overall has a really good stay. When I walked in, I felt like going into an old historical home with good vibes. The room was comfortable and clean. Location is good. Bedding was a bit too hard though. The staffs are nice but a younger reception lady does not seem to know anything and couldn't really help us find our way around. We were really confused talking to her. Other than that, I'd highly recommend this place!
