Nature and comfortable inn”
The location is far from station but it was a good one night stay. The inn was so comfortable. The shared bathroom is clean too. In the morning when we woke up, deers were roaming freely in front of our windows, and some would look up, totally adorable. I will recommend this place to others! It is a superb experience!

Perfect stay in Nara”
I had such a perfect stay here. The bed was comfy and the Inn is beautifully decorated and has so much rustic charm. Staff were very friendly, and had lots of good advice on things to see locally. Woke up early to see deer outside my window, and spent a day playing with them and feeding them in the park. In the evening I took a walk on recommendation up to a local hall and temple which was beautifully lit with lanterns. Staying inside the park is a really special experience and I could not recommend this place enough - I wish I had stayed two nights instead of one. Thank you all

Exceptional”
Absolutely amazing! The rooms are spacious and the shared kitchen and bathrooms are extremely clean and well kept. In an amazing spot, however, hard to get to if you have a lot of luggage...I recommend getting a taxi if you have a lot to carry. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Was a beautiful place to stay at and in a gorgeous location!

Right in the Nara Park”
The location is 3km from JR Nara station, but right in the Nara Park, if you are not in a tied schedule, recommend you stay in this hotel, which is quiet and relaxing. The host is really nice, and give me the map and necessary guidance for the tour nearby. The common area is in old style decorattion and lovely. Suggesting to have a mirror in the room, so we could take a look at ourselves before going out to the common washroom.

Really loved the location and the staff. They were so friendly. Location is right in the middle of where you want to be. Very special going for a morning run and immediately seeing deer on the footstep!

Very cool host and awesome looking hostel. A little tricky to get to the first time but great location. Recommend hiking the mountain behind the hostel and if you stay during the winter be careful, it gets cold!

We enjoyed our stay. Staff was lovely. Unfortunately one toilet became “Out of Order” overnight, which caused quite a lineup for the remaining one first thing in the morning.

Great place at the edge of Nara Park with deers under your window. Excellent location to the park and to mountain hiking but some walking to center. Quiet and clean, very friendly and helpful staff.

It feels like home”
My family have been two consecutive weekends at the Deer Park Inn. We really enjoy the Guest house as well the surrounding. The staff is friendly, the room is clean and there is a big share kitchen where Jack Johnson’s music playing 24/24h ! =D And I recommend to book the foots or head massage!

Warm & Confortable place to stay”
Very helpful and joyful people ! The hostel is in the middle of the forest. Everything could be done by walk, which is helpful because the city buses stop around 6 p.m. If you want to spend a night in Nara, i'll recommend this place.

Close to nature”
We stayed here to be close to the hiking trails and the park. It's great watching the deer, and the tourists, from your window as you have breakfast. The room is surprisingly spacious, very basic, and warmed up quickly. Light sleepers beware, the building is old and the floors are very creaky. You can easily hear the other guests closing doors and cars on the road. The common areas are comfortable and well stocked. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Storing your luggage is no problem. I would stay again.

A bit far from station”
I stayed for only one night. It’s close to most of the sightseeing spots in the park and you can even see deers as soon as you walk out. But it’s not ideal if you have big luggages. Transportation is quite limited at night time too. Other than that, the staffs are kind and helpful, the facilities are not bad.

Excellent Hotel”
Very good location for deer sightseeing, literally just walk out of the hotel and you will see the deers waiting for you. However, abit far from the station, either catch bus or walk 15minutes. There are restaurants nearby but they closed around 5pm. The hotel has all you need for a good stay. Clean and good facilities including kitchen, bathroom and common area. Staffs are very helpful and they will give you tips on popular locations in Nara.

Quaint little inn inside the deer park”
It's a beautiful inn inside the deer park. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The common room had a great feel to it. Clean showers and toilets. It is within walking distance from Todaiji, Kasuga Taisha, Wakakusayama, Kofukuji and of course all the deers. It makes it the ideal location to visit these places by avoiding the peak hours. The walk to the inn takes about 30 min from the JR Nara station and a little less from the Kintetsu Nara station. I was later informed that there is a loop bus that runs from the JR station to close to the inn for 200Yen. On weekends and holidays there is a red Gurutto bus for 100Yen from both stations. If you are taking the Gurutto bus, get off at My Wakakusayama and the inn is just a flight of stairs away. Being inside the deer park there is hardly anything open past 6pm but the staff said they could help order food delivery if needed. There is a cafe upstairs which offers the inn residents a discount. I would definitely stay here again!

Summer in Nara”
This is possibly the most interesting place to stay in Nara! It is located right inside the world heritage grounds of the deer park and is also a stone's throw from the Kasuga shrine, another heritage site. For a reasonable price and a chance to stay in a minsu (inn) with deer greeting you in the morning and a primeval forest walk amongst stone lanterns - what else can you ask for in Japan! The inn is actually a converted community hall and has rooms partitioned up. There are double decker beds and double occupancy rooms. The noise insulation is a little weak and the toilets/bathrooms are common. There is a communal dining area with free coffee and tea, and light instant meals at a small charge. One can leave the luggage after the 11 am check out but you are discouraged from remaining in the premises while cleaning is taking place. The park is quiet at night and you should take your meals early before 6 pm or you will need to walk a good 20 minutes to the town centre for meals. Nara is a tranquil place unlike Kyoto - so this place reflects the mood and spirit of this ancient city.

Wonderful place to stay! ”
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed staying at Deer Park Inn! Our room was cute, clean, and the air conditioner worked great! The shared facilities like the sinks and showers were all very clean. The staff was amazing as well and were very friendly. They even help order take out for you in the evening if you don’t have dinner plans. The also will store your luggage before and after your checkout time. The place is a little hard to get to but it’s totally worth it! It was so wonderful to wake up in deer park. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay in Nara.
