Fulfills all my requirements”
Our Family flies Air Asia and we often require a stop over in Kuala Lumpur. This is never a problem because we always stay at The Explorers Guesthouse. We travel between KLIA 2 and Chinatown on the Star Shuttle bus which has a bus stop 5 minutes walk from the guesthouse. We are always welcomed with a friendly smile no matter what time of day or night we arrive. The staff are very helpful. The guesthouse facilities are just what we require all at a reasonable price - clean comfortable rooms, wifi and desktop computers, storeroom, free toast, tea and coffee for breakfast. It is all good for us and we do not hesitate to recommend this accomodation to others. We look foward to our next KL stopover at The Explorers. Sincerely Gary Collinson and family from Perth Western Australia

warm guesthouse with great location”
the guest house is in a central part of kl. around 5- 10 min walk from pasar seni railway station. 5min walk to chinatown, and 10 min walk to merdeka square. the guesthouse is clean and warm. staffs are great and gave us some very useful directions and tips to get around. the restaurant in the corner is very good. i love the hokkin fried noodle there. i will definitely recommended to stay in explorers guesthouse when visiting kuala lumpur

Great budget choice to explore Kuala Lumpur.”
easy to get to using public transport from the airport (train and monorail). guesthouse is one block from the central market and petaling street (chinatown), but still remains quiet enough to relax and sleep well at night. staff are fantastic - helpful, knowledgeable and always available. rooms are quite bare with a bed and a bedside table being the only furniture. however air conditioning was much appreciated. shared bathrooms were kept clean and in good condition. free breakfast is toast and tea/coffee, but with the myriad of cheap and tasty food choices in kuala lumpur it's hardly needed. overall, this is a good value option in a great location.

A lovely stay in Chinatown”
We spent 3 nights at The Explorers Guesthouse. The location was right in the heart of Chinatown and a very short walk from Pasar Seni station. I badly sprained my ankle en route and the guy behind reception immediately offered me ice cold cans to help the swelling - he also changed our room to the first floor so I wouldn't have to walk so far! The room was lovely with great AC and nice lighting. Beware, the road outside can get noisy so ask for a room further back if you're a light sleeper. Great power showers with soap and shampoo are available. The WiFi sort of works on the first floor but if you're staying any higher you'll need to sit down in the lobby to access. A basic breakfast of toast, jam and coffee is offered - and there's a roof terrace with nice views of the skyline. Very little seating though so go up early to avoid disappointment! Water can be bought from reception for 2 MYR - and the lobby has computers and a TV. Overall this hostel was perfect for a couple on a budget!

Safe oasis in chinatown”
The Explorer's guesthouse was a great choice for our stopover in Kuala Lumpur. Very welcoming decor.....a little oasis with gorgeous bathrooms, kept extremely clean, comfortable beds, tea ,coffee and toast with condiments available all day long and a great central location right next to Chinatown. Best of all was the very welcoming staff and feeling very safe. Would recommend it highly!

Would recommend. ”
My boyfriend and I stayed here two nights while in KL. The location is excellent: walking distance to many attractions, and being in Chinatown, close to many food/market vendors to suit any palette. Budget dining at its finest. :) We shared a standard double room which had no windows. We were out all day though, so it was really not an issue. The bathroom was shared but I never had to wait to take a shower. The wifi was good (only available in the lobby/lounge area) and the breakfast pretty standard for a hostel's "free breakfast". Toast, PB, different types of jams, coffee and tea. I have already recommended the explorers guesthouse to a friend arriving in KL soon and I, myself, would stay here again.

love the colors love the warmth ”
Staying at The Explorers' Guesthouse made me not want to leave and just relax on their serene and comfy bedroom, I couldn't imagine how they can keep it so peaceful a midst the busy and noisy street outside. I was really impressed by their shoes off policy upon entering the lobby, you don't have to worry about cleanliness because the stairs, hallways, to the bedroom is carpeted. If you want to just relax and watch tv you can do it together with the other guests at their lobby downstairs and you might also want to sip coffee or tea while on the couch because it is available for free 24 hours a day. The lavatories and bathrooms are shared but no worries since they are situated in every floor and if you want to catch a glimpse of the Petronas towers you can go up their rooftop where you can just pass the time sitting in their comfy swing.

clean, calm lodging in a great location”
We arrived after a delayed flight at 1.30am and were worried that the front desk would be un-manned. We did not have to worry, the foyer was a welcoming sight and staff were very nice. Air conditioners in rooms are really good and all bathroom amenities quite satisfactory and clean. Internet available as well as a good range of maps and sightseeing information. We had been shopping in Bali so getting a lot of luggage to the third floor was a bit of a struggle without a lift. Breakfast is simple: toast and coffee but that is not something that worried us. I would recommend and stay again next time I visit Kuala Lumpur, cheap, cheerful and in a great location.

Nice Guesthouse”
My husband and I stayed there for 1 night, waiting for our transfer flight at Kuala Lumpur Airport. It's in the center of the city, about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the airport. The guesthouse is clean, and the staff is very helpful. Would recommend to young couples on a budget.

Great place to stay, and very clean”
This worked out great for me for my three days in KL. In fact, I spent five times the price in Singapore and was not as happy with the accommodations. Front staff at Explorers was nice, answering my questions, wifi worked great, and it was free, not like the hotel I stayed in Singapore. The hotel is right near the Central Market, which is in the Chinatown area. Lots of food nearby too.

Great value for money & centrally located!”
Fab stay, would return and recommend to friends. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay in the centre of Kuala Lumpur, then this is the place! We had a private double room with a shared bathroom. The entire hostel was clean and tidy, including the bathrooms. Free wifi only in the lobby but it does mean you can have a chat to fellow travellers! It doesn't advertise itself as anything flash, but when you get there it more than exceeds expectations!

great little hostel in central KL”
This is an excellent value hostel in central Kuala Lumpur less than a hundred metres from the centre of the market right in the busy area of town. Staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast is basic - just bread and jams left out - but the tea is free throughout the day. Has a very friendly atmosphere in the downstairs common room. Surrounded by excellent restaurants

Hip upscale guesthouse in ideal location”
this guesthouse is well-managed and extremely comfortable. while it costs a little bit more than some budget accomodations in kl, it is a small price to pay for the added security and peace of mind. the entire facitlity feels fresh and clean. the staff were notably helpful with our requests and we always felt welcome and appreciated. it is well-located with two lrt station nearby. it is in walking distance of several attractions, including the central market, china town, and little india. the decor is refreshingly creative and hip. the beds were very comfortable, it is clear that they did not skimp when they were buying the mattresses. i do not have a single complaint with this guesthouse and have re-booked it several times.

Great location to see some of the landmarks.”
This is one of the best guesthouses that I have stayed at anywhere in the world. The staff are friendly and informative. It is a great location to explore Chinatown and to see some of the other landmarks. It's only about 10 minutes away (by taxi) from the Petronas Towers.
