My stay at the Golknoda Hotel”

I arrived at the Golkonda on September 2nd for a sixteen night stay. Upon arrival, I was greeted and welcomed by a very professional staff. My room was as expected, very comfortable with all the amenities a five star hotel should provide. All requests from both housekeeping and front desk were immediately attenede to with a smile. The restaurant staff was impeccable and costantly attentive, making mealtime a pleasure. Of course, I must state that it is the Indian people whose graciousness and sincerity made the entire stay a pleasure. American hoteliers can learn a lot from Indian ones. Kudos to all at the Golkonda Hotel. I most certainly will book any future stays in India at this great hotel.

Warm Hospitality, Excellent Value-for-Money”

Golconda Hotel is conveniently located near the end of the Airport elevated corridor at Masab Tank, Banjara Hills (also called Mehdipatnam). The Room is spacious, more so by the thoughtful choice of compact furniture & fittings. The wall-to-wall bay window floods the room with natural light. The bathroom is superbly lighted with choice fittings, toiletries & linen. Room service is prompt even at 10pm. However, the Tariff for any food item is very stiff. WiFi at 3Mbps is reliable & functional for normal online activity. The Buffet Breakfast is easily the very best on offer anywhere in India. For anyone wishing to start the day with a great breakfast of his choice, Hotel Golconda must be the First Choice !

A comfortable 4 star”

The Golkonda hotel was ideally suited for the conference. Our stay was a memorable one as we enjoyed the action packed Hyderabad city. Food and sightseeing added to the memorable experience. I will definitely vist Hyderabad again.

Decent hotel in Banjara Hills”

A well-maintained budget hotel in the most affluent district of Hyderabad, The Golkonda is rather underrated. The room size and facilities are adequate, and the staff service is quick and warm. The room service menu, though, leaves much to be desired--the accessibility of nearby restaurants, however, compensates for this.

Fantastic Hotel, I want to go back!”

I stayed at the Golkonda with my brother for 3 nights. It was the best hotel we had stayed in during out 1 month in India. The hotel is stylish, comfortable, great facilities and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We used the gym which was great and the 2 hotel restaurants were also delicious. They have an amazing buffet from 2000 each night which I didn't get to try but it looked absolutely delicious! The rooms are nice and clean, spacious and a nice bathroom. The staff really impressed us. My brother had a rabies scare after having an open wound licked by a dog in Goa, and the oh so helpful duty manager managed to find us a doctor to assist us find the vaccines. The buffet breakfast in the morning is the best we had had through India too; with eggs, donuts, pastries, cereals, fruit, pancakes and Indian dishes! Yum. Overall I was very impressed and would definitely go back! :)

Excellent Hotel, Great Value”

We loved our stay in Golkonda. The hotel is centrally located in Hyderabad. Golkonda has good restaurants, and easy access to many others on Road No. 1 such as Chutney and Barbecue Nation. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were big.

A good business hotel with minor glitches”

The hotel is well located in Banjara hills, going towards Lakdi ka pul. The rooms are spacious. We had problems with airconditioning in our suite which was fixed within an hour. The water boiler also broke down and that took quite a while to get replaced and repaired. However, the staff were good and considerate. The buffet has a good spread and the food is quite good. Overall, no complains, and a good business trip.

Nice hotel”

You can't go wrong staying here. It's centrally located, as much as there is a center of Hyderabad and there are plenty of restaurants around. The area is right on a major road but the hotel is quiet. There is plenty of transport around and there are quiet, quaint residential lanes just around the corner with tiny shops and a friendly, homey atmosphere. The hotel itself has typical multi-star hotel rooms. Nice linens, very clean, marble bath (very spacious), quiet a/c with individual control, cable tv, little fridge/mini bar, etc. There's no tub but you'll soon prefer the spacious shower. Very nice. There is a pool, 3 restaurants or so, free wi-fi,a gym, and probably a whole lot of other services/facilities that I don't know about. Breakfast was included and was pretty good but best get there early as the best stuff runs out. Fresh juice (and canned too, if you want) and a variety Indian and a couple of Western things. Eggs to order, along with dosas and uppama. The service was exceptional. Laundry service is pricier than some other hotels but nicely done. Staff will readily help with anything. I think that's the best feature of the hotel as at a place this large such personal attention could be lacking.

Excellent hotel”

Very pleasant stay. Staff very very friendly, service was very good and very quick. The hotel has two or three different restaurants and food can also be ordered from the bar. The range of food available is outstanding, and generally of very high quality. The fitness centre is well equipped and well staffed. The size of the pool is a little disappointing, but understandable given the city centre location. The travel desk offers chauffeured cars for 8 hours for less than 2000 Rupees (i.e. less than 20 GBP) - the drivers are friendly, very accommodating and will take you anywhere. I would definitely recommend using the travel desk for sightseeing. Airport transfers are also available. The rooms are kept very clean, and the staff were generally prepared to clean the room at whatever time specified, on a day to day basis. All staff were generally very friendly and helpful. A wide range of satellite television channels are available including star sports and multiple film channels. I would recommend the hotel to anybody visiting Hyderabad.

Convenient and efficient”

The Golkonda is a fairly large hotel in Bandara Hills area, and is within walking distance of a number of shops and restaurants. The travel desk is able to arrange taxis, or there are a number of auto-rickshaws outside the hotel which are often quicker, and always cheaper. It is easy to visit a number of tourist sites from the hotel. Despite it being on a busy road there wasn't a lot of traffic noise in my room. The rooms are well equipped and if anything doesn't work they fix it quickly. The breakfast is a varied Indian buffet, which changes slightly every day, and there are some western alternatives. Lunch is also a buffet; a la carte takes quite a while. I stayed there during a holiday period so the hotel was full of Indian families. This made the public areas quite noisy, and in the evenings some families kept their room doors open so that their children could scream up and down the corridors for hours. This isn't within the hotel's control, and being on a non-smoking floor during national holidays probably exacerbated the situation. Added to this, muzak is played non-stop in the corridors, and is loud enough to be heard clearly in the rooms. Presuming that foreign tourists go to India for a cultural experience then I suppose this is part of it; the western love of quiet does not apply! This hotel is a good choice for visiting the city.

Comfortable stay”

If you are traveling for a vacation, The Golkonda Hotel serves as an excellent choice. The location is great, and so is the buffet spread. The staff was very polite. Facilities were decent - can be improved a bit. Overall, a very good stay.

very reasonable hotel in central hyderabad”

overall we enjoyed our stay at Golkonda - good quality hotel mainly for business people it seems but all friendly and helpful staff. Reception made an error on arrival but otherwise very good - helping with addresses, recommendations etc. It is party season in Hyderabad and the hotel has functions every night in the garden. these can be quite loud until 12am if room facing the garden. But fun to watch!

lovely hotel with comfortable rooms”

generally in a good location and very much a business hotel. breakfast did not have such a great spread and the eggs/omelette were poorly done. my mum had to advise them on fire control! haha! staff were very helpful and got me aspirins when i had a headache. rooms are a good size and classy with lots of channels from cable. rickshaws were readily available outside the hotel and easy to arrange for a whole day's sightseeing. would definitely recommend for hyderabad. preferred this over taj tristar which i stayed in for the first leg of my trip.

Great location, friendly service”

We had a great stay at the Golkonda. The staff were very helpful when we needed printing done for a conference. They were very clear at communcating. The hotel has a good buffet breakfast and a nice swimming pool. There is WiFi everywhere in the hotel.

Good Hotel”

The hotel stay was good, got all I wanted. I had issues with Agoda website, Agoda charged me in USD instead of Indian Rs(might be it was my mistake, I dont know), But the customer care was pathetic. The person who responded to my queries seemed least interested with my queries and was not even polite. I will book my stay in Golkonda hotel again but might never use Agoda for making my bookings.

Friendly & helpful staff”

This is my 2nd time here. The room was immaculate, staff helpful and breakfast buffet excellent. Definitely would return to this hotel whenever I'm in Hyderabad.

Good Ambience and great location”

Hotel is located in one of the posh area in Hyderabad. The ambiance was very elegant.Rooms were clean. All the staffs were very friendly and helpful. Best part of the hotel is the food specially Hyderabadi Biryani. Overall very good and pleasant hotel.

Fantastic Hotel”

The hotel was better than we expected. We stayed in the Klub room which was lovely and clean. The staff are very kind and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic with a wide range, something for everyone. Would stay here again when in Hyderabad.
