Excellent value, location, staff an rooms”
Excellent value for money, location closeish to the sights given that Mandalay sights are very spread out (till need a 15000MMK/$15 taxi), immaculate rooms and attentive staff. Excellent air con and wifi. Although the bathroom is still of a "wet room" design, it was cleverly designed so that the toilet roll, for example, didn't get wet and drained well. Hot water, strong toilet flush, good shower flow (all things not found in other Burmese hotels)! Breakfast was limited but decent. Staff were extremely helpful in providing information about exploring Mandalay and the surrounding ancient cities (although note we were given a quote by them of $60 for full day sightseeing Mingun, Sagaing, Inwa and Amarapura for sunset, yet the taxi guy waiting outside quoted us $45 straight up and was extremely helpful and an excellent driver...he is always waiting outside Hotel Emperor for custom so go with him!). When my partner was ill with food poisoning for 48 hours (due to a dodgy hotel breakfast in Bagan the day before), the staff were wonderful at bringing breakfast into the room, giving extra towels, toilet paper etc. The clean, modern rooms with good wifi and aircon, along with the genuinely kind attentive staff, make this one of the top two hotels we stayed in during our whole Myanmar trip.

super nice and friendly hotel staff make ”
We are two young ladies from Hong Kong. We stayed for two nights here. Feel so impressed by the service of this newly built hotel. -extremely helpful and friendly manager and staff members, especially the manager treat us like friends. they suggest the cheapest way for our journey, respond to our needs timely including early check in and leave baggage service when we leave Mandalay for two days -near to the local food restaurant/ small food shop along the street -next to Mandalay palace. So easy to locate, but Mandalay is big and no public transport as well, so we always need to take taxi and walk -2min walk to Internet cafe for cheap international call -the first night we say there is mosquito in our room, the next day they prepare the things to kill the mosquito. Staff is so responsive -unluckily, electricity is out of order suddenly for few second but this is the issue in the whole country -we a budget traveller, this mid range price hotel is out of our budget, but it is so worthy and this is the reason we come back to stay one more night again in our trip -we love the hot shower and nice air conditioning after the tired travel day Remember to leave your email address when u book the hotel, then the manager will reply you soon for the request

Helpful Staff and Good Quality Hotels”
The flights to and from major cities in Myanmar operate early in the morning well before the check in times, but once I came through the door of The Hotel Emperor, I was given an available room just to lay down and relax, five hours before the official check in at no additional charge. I was happy with this show of consideration for the guests. The breakfast was cooked well, although it was limited in choices. The location was nicely located to palaces, however requires taxis to travel throughout Mandalay as the city is spread out. The rooms were cleaned nicely and the staff was friendly and courteous. I recommend The Hotel Emperor for first timers, solo, groups, couples, or any other travelers in Mandalay.

Clean, affordable, friendly and helpful staff”
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Emperor Hotel in Mandalay. It is a newer hotel than others and is clean, affordable and well located. The best was the helpfulness of the staff! We arrived early as our travel from Inle Lake to Mandalay changed and the staff woke up and found us rooms at 4am! They are just lovely. The hotel had a great vibe and is located right next to the palace. You can see it from the roof! Great time and I would recommend to anyone travelling to Mandalay.

Incredible Staff”
This was my first hotel stay in Myanmar and I had not idea how good the service would be. The staff were friendly, attentive, always smiling and spoke very good English. After staying at the Hotel Emperor I feel like I should go back and revise my previous feedback for other hotels because this was a new level of service. Even 5 star hotels don't have such friendly staff. I love the wooden interior of the hotel, and the location was perfect - next to the major sites and there is a great restaurant next door. I will definitely stay here when in Mandalay.

the beautiful, well-structured, friendly mandalay ”
we took an overnight bus from bagan to mandalay, arrived at 4am. it was still dark in the street the hotel is a bit far away from the bus station, we took a taxi (in fact a truck-like vehicle) [5000 kyat for two persons] to the hotel a quick early check-in, the room is a luxurious one (to two student-backpackers) even the sockets are friendly to those who forget to bring an adaptor since we left for yangon in the same evening, we did not stay overnight or try the breakfast the staff are very friendly and considerate, who helped book bus tickets to Yangon and book a taxi for us to the bus station as well. they are also very helpful in guiding us where to visit, with a nicely-printed coloured map provided just a 5-min walk from the hotel and you would see the Palace, keep walking along the river (1-1.5 hrs) and one could reach the foot of the Mandalay Hill

More than the value of money”
A night bus dropped me in Mandalay at 4am. I am happy that the staffs were kind enough to let me check in at that time. This essentially gave me a free night and I could continue sightseeing in the day. They were also friendly and passionate to sort out your travel questions in Mandalay. Personally I verified their advices of walking to different places. They are trustable. You can expect a standard, basic breakfast in a relaxing setting. As in other parts of Myanmar, power interruption is a norm. The hotel has its stand-by generator. It is up in a couple of minute during my stay. I am happy that I need not worry about the hot air in Mandalay!

No glitz, comfortable hotel with attentive staff”
I didn't go to Mandalay to stay in a hotel room. I went to see the sights. The Emperor Hotel is a perfect base from which to reach out to all the sights within Mandalay. Staff go overboard in trying to meet your needs. My only recommendation is to change the breakfast (included in rate) menu so guests staying more than one night will have something different to try.

Clean rooms, Friendly and extremely helpful staff”
we stayed at Hotel Emperor for 2 nights during our time in mandalay and found it to be a great choice. the staff were super helpful and let us check in early after arriving in the early hours of the morning. The staff also helped us plan our time while in mandalay and book flights and buses for the rest of our trip. the rooms are small but clean and overall a great place to stay

We were looked after very well.”
My partner had a road accident while in Mandalay and the staff could not have been more supportive. They gave us directions to chemists and places to buy things the average tourist would not have needed. I cannot praise them enough. As with all hotels in Burma, the room was a little small for the price but that is down to taxes not hotel pricing. The food is good, unusually for a hotel restaurant. The location is good for a number of well priced restaurants and it's only a few minutes to get downtown.

Small room with heavy wooden smell”
We had standard double room, it was clean and nice, very well equipped with all kinds of stuff, including rechargeable flash light. The breakfast was fabulous, even off season they had plenty of customers and the breakfast was buffet, sufficient tasty and fresh. The only problem we had with the hotel (other than the price of 50$) was the heavy wooden smell inside our small room. It was nearly hard to breathe even though we are young and healthy, not suffering from any diseases. It is just next to the walls of Mandalay palace, but a walk to the nearest gate is not very short, although possible. Short drive to the Mandalay hill.

Clean & comfort room with friendly staff”
The hotel is in central location near by the Mandalay palace but only one entrance that they allow foreigner to enter. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their English is good so just let them know what you want then they can help you organize it. I also ask them to by a bus ticket and also car rental with driver. The room is clean with air con. The bed is comfy. We also got the fridge and TV. WIFI is available in room. The bath room got hot-cold water. I think the hotel is just was renovated. The restaurance next door is good.

Very friendly hotel service”
I spent more of the time sightseeing and venturing around the city. Upon return to the hotel, I always receive a warm welcome from the very courteous staff, the room was always cleaned and cooled with the air-condition turned on despite the frequent unstable electricity supply common all over Myanmar. Mandalay is too large a city to pick any hotel to be centrally located. Ultimately you still need a car, bike or rickshaw to go places a few km apart. Hotel Emperor is good location for my coverage of the wet-market, latest shopping center(Galaxy), Mandalay Palace and nearby temples, Mandalay Hill, puppet shows, surrounding eateries (1 km apart). The jetty to Mingun and the gemstone market is a bit further.

Comfortable & clean hotel with very helpful staff.”
It was my first night in Myanmar travelling alone and it was a great introduction. The hotel was very clean and well located. The staff were so friendly and helpful and really made you feel at home. The location was good right by the palace and not far from pagodas and Mandalay hill. There were a few well known Burmese restaurants just around the corner and food was superb. Overall I think this was the best stay I had in all of Myanmar and definitely the best value. I would recommend anyone going to Mandalay to stay here.

trouble free”
Rooms were a bit small for two people, but nice and clean, everything worked. WIFI was good. Staff was polite and helpful, we bought our boat tickets from them at reasonable price. Breakfast was good. Hotel is close to the mandalay palce. We also booked our day tour with the hotel, the driver was a polite and happy old man, car was in good condition.

Great staff - central location”
Nice clean room with comfy bed, located centrally in Mandalay. Wonderful helpful staff - sorted everything for us, including a very good and reasonably priced taxi driver to take us sight seeing for a few days. The unrelated 'Bistro' next door also serves some of the best food we had in Myanmar.

Finest Myanmar hospitality”
Wow! This hotel is amazing and provided the best service we had while we were travelling for 2 months in Asia. The receptionists are very helpful at arranging onward travel and sights to visit and places to eat. If we were seated in the lobby, they would bring us juice. The breakfasts are served in a quaint dining room starting with fresh juice and fruit, and 3 hot dishes to choose from and toast and real strawberry jam! The rooms are lovely: dressing gowns are an added luxury. The manager of the Emperor is a wonderful host who goes out of his way to talk to all guests. I was very ill in Mandaley with a fever, and the manager upgraded us to a Deluxe room at no additional charge. This enabled my husband to be able to sit on a comfy chair while I was sleeping, and for me to be able to take a bath which helped to lower my temperature. We were most appreciative of his kindness and concern. When I did manage to make it downstairs, all the staff were enquiring after my health. I couldn't think of a better place to be sick in Asia! I would highly recommend this hotel if you would like to experience the true beauty of Myanmar hospitality.

Value for money”
it is located right in the Mandalay city center, there are many restaurants near by the hotel which take 5-10 mins walking distance. You can rent motorcycle price at 15,000.- Kyats or USD 15.00 per day with full tank of petro. Recommended restaurants: Bristol for all kinds of foods, BBB the European foods, Too Too a local foods and Koffee Korner. I would suggest you to take a local massage at GGG, it is about 5 mins walk from the hotel, price at 6,000.- Kyats or USD 6.00 per hours, please take 2 hours for a course.

Very good staff”
Took airport shuttle to Hotel. All of Mandalay is about 30-40 minutes from airport. Really nice staff, my only regret was I did not tip the staff enough. I will have to wait until I can return to tip them. Wonderful sightseeing around arranged by hotel with very friendly driver.. Joeshuay was his name although I am probably spelling it wrong. Look forward to returning to this city and hotel.

Best value hotel in Mandalay”
Pleasant stay with friendly staff and valuable price. The location is great though Mandalay is not walkable. Breakfast is basic but enough to fill your morning. Rooms are old-fashioned but clean.
