Fantastic accomodation with beautiful setup. ”
If you looking for something different Pros U can try this hotel as it has its own identity, Peace and calming interiors Ask for higher rooms and facing the shoplots n Darul Hana Bridge. U might have a nice beautiful view. If you are lucky. Sunset view is marvelous. Cons U might need to wear earplugs if u a light sleeper.. As its made by wooden floor n structure, it might not be a easy for u to sleep without earplugs. Besides. No TV for a standard room.

Stunning hotel”
Probably one of the nicest boutique hotels that I have stayed in, the place is gorgeous. staff are really friendly and helpful. Very big sense of history when in this hotel given its past. Pool is nice and clean, and can get food and drink from the restaurant downstairs. Rooms are spotless and very recently renovated. We got lucky and had a balcony which gave us grest views. We are coming back.

Excellent hotel located at the very heart of Kuching. Rooms are spacious, and there is a big swimming pool available. Cleaning services could be improved.

Gorgeous building in an excellent location”
Positives: Beautiful building, gorgeous surroundings and an excellent location. Great swimming pool. Clean rooms. Great value for money. Restaurant, while expensive for the area, serves good food and drinks. Negatives: There was a gap between the wall and ceiling in the bathroom, so quite a few mosquitos got it. Breakfast is basic - toast, cereal and fruit.

Satisfied!”
My stay here was fabulous. Room was great! Love it! But going up the stairs was quite steep but not a hustle because good for exercise though. Love it how they maintain such an old building. Great ambience and atmosphere and great to take pictures around. 😉

Lovely Lodging House”
Best boutique I have stayed, clean, friendly and in perfect location. Best of all it comes with free parking. One bit of problem is sound proofing as I could hear the coffee brewing in the morning.

Exceptional”
A beautiful building with tasteful rooms. I booked a Mezannine Room for my son and I due to wanting a room with more natural light. However, I think that the best rooms are those with balconies facing the pool. The mattress was firm and comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a decent shower. A fridge would have come in handy but no big issue. Breakfast is toast, cereal, bananas, tea and coffee (coffee machine), so simple but fine to start the day before getting stuck into the local food outside. The name is apt as it is more like a lodging house than a hotel, as rooms are spaced out. Lovely swimming pool that didn't get busy and great staff. A very enjoyable eight days, both in Kuching and at The Marian.

Very clean, basic accommodation (no TV or Fridge). Staff extremely pleasant. Unfortunately near by disco pumps out loud music until well into morning which does make getting to sleep hard.

Marian is a lovely place to stay, loved the ambiance - peacefully nostalgic. However, i feel they are understaffed, hence, housekeeping was a challenge for existing staff. I would also do something about the drainage system that seems to be very slow (in shower) and toilet flush needed repairing too.

A great little find”
We stayed here for about a week ,all up and found it to be fabulous little hotel. It's an old, beautifully converted boarding house. The rooms are tastefully done and spacious. It had a beautiful pool which for most of our stay we had to ourselves. It's clean, good value for money and in a great spot in the old chinatown. The staff were fantastic and were extremely helpful, especially the guy on the 'travel desk'. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The tranquil setting of the pool in the exquisitely beautiful garden made it a very special place to relax. The attached restaurant served excellent freshly cooked meals. The breakfast served above the restaurant was very basic but adequate for the inclusive room price.

Great place, just avoid the breakfast”
Amazing building with lots of space to relax in - seated areas, sofa areas, pool area, etc. We took one of the pool-side rooms which was smallish with a very comfortable bed, AC, very clean, nice bathroom with a good shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that lets this place down is the breakfast. I have a feeling the breakfast here is only offered so they can list 'breakfast included' on the various booking sites. It includes cheap, bad quality factory bread, crappy baked items like mini donuts and chocolate muffins, sugary kids cereal, orange squash (the kind that probably has 0% real fruit). Scrambled eggs and bananas were the only 'real' food offered, other than that it's more like a snack table at a children's party and really not in line with the price or style of the hotel. Overall a great place, just eat breakfast elsewhere.
