We absolutely loved the Royal Park Hotel Kyoto! This was our favorite hotel of all that we stayed in while in Japan. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful - eager to provide suggestions and making the check-in/check-out process super easy. The rooms themselves were quite large and very clean with comfortable beds, linens, and amenities. The location is perfect - super close to the market shops, Poncho-cho, and many other delicious restaurants. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Kyoto!!

Close to everything ”
We stayed for two nights and loved the hotel. It was clean and beautiful. The staff was friendly and spoke English well. We arrived before check-in time and we were able to leave our suitcases while we started our sightseeing. Rooms are a bit tight, but we also had three beds in the room. Our room was like a galley kitchen, very little space to move around between the beds and the wall, but that didn’t bother us much. Overall, we liked the hotel. The subway station was 5 min walk.

Lovely boutique hotel close to the action in Sanjo”
This hotel had a great feel from when we first checked in. Great facilities. Rooms are a good size for Japan. Everything was very clean and staff could not be more accommodating. The coin washing machines were very useful. It is very close to the action in Sanjo so there was some noise from the bars at night. It was not major but my only slight fault. I would however be delighted to recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms were clean and spacious and the location was very convenient. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We used the luggage forwarding service which they took care of receiving and carefully sending to our next location. My husband also got sick on the trip and needed to buy Japanese cold/flu medicine. The staff kindly helped us translate the directions on the package. These details really made our travel easier.

My friends and I had a great experience staying in this hotel. The location was awesome for exploring both downtown and traditional part of Kyoto. All are either within walking distance or a few train stops. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Will definitely recommend this hotel to future travelers. Also, price point is reasonable for everything the hotel provides!

Stylish hotel, very clean and tidy, friendly staff. Room is big for Japan. Location is very convenient, close to most shops, restaurants, key attractions, and a few minutes walk to the nearest station. Really appreciated the coin laundry (300yen) and dryer (100yen for 30 minutes) located within the hotel.

Such a perfect location to enjoy Kyoto from daytime to nighttime. Easy access to tourist spots by train and bus. Can walk to Gion area and Sannenzaka, Ninenzaka. Kind & nice staffs and very clean & tidy room. Definitely will stay again when I come to Kyoto next time.

Rooms were larger than most Japanese hotels I have stayed at. 2 nice pillow and very comfortable mattress. Located right in the heart of Kyoto so close to a lot of great restaurants. Loved it.

Best Hotel during our trip”
This hotel is by far the best we stayed at during our trip! It has a gorgeous decor and the rooms were so beautiful. The location is great since it is near bus stops and train stations. We stayed here 2 nights and will certainly stay here again! Highly recommend staying here!

Fantastic location and nice room/facilities”
This was the second time we had stayed here, and I suspect it won't be the last. The location is fantastic being just minutes away from Pontocho and the shops on Kawaramachi and walking distance to Gion. The rooms are nice and tidy and a reasonable size. Staff were always friendly.

This hotel is super well located. Everything is close by restaurants, convenience store, subway and train station from Osaka and Tokyo. Also next to the bridge and river. Rooms are larger than in other hotels in Japan. As everywhere in Japan, super amenities. Nice design lobby with a bar. Highly recommend.

Can’t say enough nice things about the staff. ”
I missed my train back to Tokyo. The staff contacted my next hotel to let them kno I would be a day late. They then gave me a discounted room rate for that night without me even requesting it. They spent over an hour helping me straighten things out and were very gracious.

Fabulous location Reasonable Price”
I’ve often stayed here. I’d rate it as the best hotel option in Kyoto if you want to Explore the city. The only issue is that there’s no good bike rental close (there are places but you have to return the bike each evening at6, which is annoying. Still the hotel is great
