this has been by far the most nicest hotel and area we have stayed in.. the cost of the rooms are great value for what you get. the pictures truly don't capture how amazing this place is.. we have stayed in this hotel twice and will certainly be coming back again. kai bae is a great area in koh chang, nightlife if you want it and a beach just opposite where you are staying! best of both worlds. the staff are incredible super friendly and willing to help as much as they possible can. lots of great cafe's and bars.. by the end of our trip we resided in a restaurant/bar called morgans... fantastic food both english and thai which is by far the most affordable place to eat on the island. loved every moment of our stay

Incredible value, loved this place!”
Our low season experience was phenomenal (early June) the setting is beautiful with two pools. The rooms clean, big, comfortable, powerful air con. Great big windows that are mirror tinted on the outside. Staff very friendly, overall a great experience. Kai Bae beach just a few mins walk, and there is a fabulous sunset lookout just up the road a couple mins on a scooter. Spent 3 nights, but could have stayed a week, the value for a room at a place like this was incredible. Only downside is that Kai Bae in low season had less eating options than some other areas, but if you rent scooters you can get anywhere you like. If I return, would stay again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful clean hotel with friendly staff”
We loved this hotel, the staff were friendly and gave us helpful tips about the area, they booked our taxi to return to the ferry at 6am, pool is lovely and literally at you door step, rooms are cleaned well every day, shower head was not so good and shower made a faint noise. The hotel is in a good location in the middle of kai bae beach. The hotel is being expanded and construction takes place out the back each day but the staff were very honest about this when we arrived and it did not bother us at all as we were mainly out and about or couldn't hear it from our room. You can't see it either. The only negative for us was the double bed has two mattresses on it with a tiny gap in the middle, a bit annoying for a couple to sleep together on and mattress was very firm. There was a spare single bed in the room though and the room was very spacious. They do breakfast for 99 baht pp of eggs, bacon, toast and coffee/tea. Excellent value for money, would definitely return.

Nice rooms, good location”
We stayed at the stage in may and although the weather was pretty poor for the duration of our stay we still had a good 3 night stop off in Koh Chang. The staff that greated us were friendly and simply showed us to our room without any fuss ( after a journey all you want to do is get your key and drop your backpacks ). Great location. Within a couple of minutes walk are numerous bars and places to eat, the beach is only a few minutes stroll away and you can hire mopeds etc a couple of shops down. If the sun had been shining throughout our stay we would have thoroughly enjoyed the pool aswel. As it was it meant that we actually got our money's worth out of our stay in the room and the local area on foot. Would recommend this place to stay if you're heading to Koh Chang.

best place to stay in kai bae”
Fantastic. Not got a bad thing to say. Lovely rooms, so comfortable, very clean and quiet, beautiful grounds and pool area, lovely deck area with your own deck chairs, just lovely!! Kai bae is so, so - lots of construction, very much catering to the Russian market and not a great beach compared to lonely or white sands - but if you base yourself at the stage and get a scooter then you have an amazing accommodation and the ability to find the best parts of this wonderful island.

Fantastic place - super value for money ”
We had a fantastic stay at The Stage. We ended up staying 13 days because we loved the room and surroundings so much. Compared to other places in Kai Bae you get a lot of value for your money here. The staff is polite and very helpful and so sweet to our son, who were roaming the decks around the pools all day. We would love to come back! Only negative is the service at the adjacent restaurant Moo4 where you can have breakfast. The service there is ridiculously slow and unattentive.

Cheap.. Great Value”
I have stayed many places in koh chang including Gajupuri in Kae Bae. I could not fault this place. Rooms are clean.. fairly modern and location is fine. A 200 metre walk and you are on beach. I have booked again to stay here in April. If you are like me.. spend most time outside Hotel and basically using for sleep but still want something decent then this is the place for you... all the modern cons... pool is good too.

Clean and Pleasant Location”
The Stage is in a central location of Koh Chang in Kai Bai. Very close to many bars and restaurants but we couldn't hear them from our room. There are two pool which we enjoyed using. Breakfast buffet was basic (fruit, muesli and coffee etc.) Very well priced.

Great place to stay! ”
We first stayed in white beach when we first arrived in Koh Chang. And stayed at Mac Resort. Worst place ever!! When we got to the Stage it was not only way cheaper, the rooms are bigger and nicer, the staff are super friendly, and the restaurant next door (moo4) had the best breakfast and wonderful staff. We loved it at the stage so much we ended up staying an extra 3 nights. I highly recommend this place.

PLEASANT STAY IN KOH CHANG”
THE STAGE HOTEL IS A SMALL HOTEL WITH TWO SWIMMING POOLS IN FRONT OF THE BUNGALOWS, OF WHICH THE LARGER ONE IS A SALT WATER ONE. ROOMS ARE SPACIOUS AND KEPT WELL CLEAN WITH BOTH AIRCONDITIONING AND CEILING FAN. THE HOTEL EXTERIOR NEEDS SOME TOUCHING UP TO PREVENT IT FROM WEARING DOWN BUT WHILST STAYING THERE IT IS NOT A BIG ISSUE. SIMPLE BREAKFAST FROM THE MENU WITH VARIOUS CHOICES BUT GOOD QUALITY. WHEN LOOKING FOR A PLEASANT STAY AT KOH CHANG AGAINST REASONABLE COST THEN THE STAGE IS THE ONE TO BEAT.

The Stage-Koh Chang Hotel was perfect for us!”
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is not located directly on the beach, but within 5 minutes walking. It is located in the center Klong Prao village on Kai Bae Beach, so close to everything. The staff were very friendly. Pictures on their site pretty much match reality. Rooms are big, have a fridge, AC and very high ceilings. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would stay here again if on the island.

This hotel is in Kai Bae Beach. This is a nice hotel in good location. The Rooms are large. The only problem with rom is the lack sockets. only one socket for use. The hotel has two pool. The one problem with the pool is that they are deep. not suitable for small children. they provide rings in pool. The hotel is about 5 minute walk to beach. This is a good hotel nice and quite at night.

Great! As has perfect breakfasts, four swimming pools and enough space for my kids to play. Receptionists were very nice and helpful. We liked the service, daily cleaning and towels and linen changing, so was a great experience to stay in The Stage Koh Chang.

Lovely Hotel with nice pool and very helpful staff”
It is a small size hotel with only 9 rooms. We stayed in room no.5 right by the pool. I think room no.5-9 are pool side. The pool is good size but there were no step to get in and out and at same height throughout about 140cm +/-(would not be safe for children that cant swim). The room was clean and well present with super big towels which we like. Tv had many channels include english speaking ones and sports. However, during our stay, there was some construction going on beside the property. The hotel was very apologetic about it and they have put noted stating the time the construction will begin and end each cay which is at 9 am and finish by 6pm. It was noisy but we were allowed to use the swimming pool from the hotel opposite (which was also very nice and huge - right by the beach as well) We enjoyed our stay at the stage and we would definitely stay there again.

A great choice”
We have stayed at a few properties in Koh Chang, and really enjoyed The Stage.It is well located, nicely set out (you don't have to walk far like big hotels).The pool is within meters of you room. We rented motorbikes from the receptionist with no problems.Ploy - our favorite restaurant is just down the road.The only slight negative is that we have a 9yr old son, and the pool is 1.7m deep with no shallow end.If they made the 2nd smaller pool child friendly, the place would be a 9 out of 10.

So close to the beach, nice spacious room”
we really loved our stay at the stage. the room has everything you need, and the beds were comfortable. the only negative i have to say is about the shower. when we were there, there was barely any water pressure, and because it's thailand, the water wasn't hot. i can deal with cold water, but i wished there was more pressure to it! but this didn't make our time at the stage negative in any way. the pool was great, and the staff was extremely helpful in booking tours for us (elephant trekking) and giving us advice. this place is absolutely worth the money!

Convenient location and good value for money”
The hotel is very conveniently located, so despite they do not serve breakfast or any other food (there's just a tiny coffee shop near reception desk), don't worry: there're many really tasty restaurants in vicinity. The beach is in 10 minutes walk, across the main road (the nearest way goes beside (not through) Gajapuri Resort, which is The Stage belongs to, but the former looks abandoned). Shops, currency exchange counter, massage parlours are all as close as they could be. Good LCD in the room, a lot of lovely friendly lizzzzzards on the walls...
