Great place to stay in Sydney ”

Made a reservation at Urban Newtown at a great price and it did not disappoint. The room is indeed smaller than the regular hotel room but it has everything I need. Was amazed at how they can squeeze a kitchenette in a room like this. Staff was friendly and the complimentary pastries & drinks at the lobby was a pleasant add-on. Location of the hotel was perfect; within walking distance from Newtown Station and so many eateries nearby! Will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Sydney 👍🏻

Almost Perfect”

Great little hotel. Free Mini Bar if you book directly with The Urban! Very friendly staff and the location is perfect, especially if you are attending a gig at The Enmore Theatre. Hundreds of restaurants and drinking holes to choose from. The only hiccup I had was that I pre-booked parking but I couldn't get into the parking lot without parking somewhere in Newtown first! Impossible. So I called the number that comes up on Google for The Urban and for over an hour I received a message that there was no one available to take my call. So I just drove around the block over and over until I found somewhere to park for two minutes whilst I organised to get my car into my pre-booked parking at The Urban. This was very frustrating, so just make sure you have The Urban's ACTUAL phone number on hand (0437 040 578) because the advertised number is serviced by some crap organisation. Once my car was finally parked, everything went perfectly from then on. I would recommend The Urban.

Great value and top location!”

We stayed at the Urban Newtown to see one of our favourite artists at the enmore theatre live. We paid a great low price for a studio and what we received was beyond expectations. Had a kitchenette, large bathroom, coffee machine, large windows and comfy bed. The best part was the artist we saw was staying the same hotel so you know its worth it. Very central location on Enmore road near the theatre, cafes and moments from king st. Would definitely stay again.

Great location and friendly staff but...”

We stayed for 5 days at the Urban Newtown. It is a very modern and light space that has an urban look. The room had lots of features including a kitchenette which is a great big tick if you want to stay in and cook (not that we did - too many great restaurants in the area).The staff are very friendly and are always happy to help. We definitely would come again however we weren't not made aware by Agoda that the lobby was having a renovation so actually not all the facilities were available to us which wasn't the hotels fault but it did mean we lost out. Also we found out that by booking direct the hotel offers a free mini bar but we were not eligible as we had booked through Agoda.

Home away from home”

We stayed at the urban for 1 night. We used to live in Newtown and decided to try this hotel. It was fantastic. I couldn’t fault it! We just booked our next stay with an addition 3 friends!! The location is perfect and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Thanks urban for a very enjoyable stay! See you again soon!! :)

Fantastic Room & Location”

You could not ask for a better location of the Urban in Newtown. From the mural on the façade of the building, to the lush & musical courtyard - it is truly unique and excellent for short or long term stays. I was upgraded to the King Suite for my short business stay and was treated very well by the staff. The bed and pillows are really comfortable, the ginger root soap is divine, and the shower can fit 6 people! I would 110% recommend the Urban to everyone I know.

We wanted to stay in Newtown and found that this hotel had great reviews, and they are justified. Excellent value for money ($150 for 1 night in a queen studio room), great location in the heart of Newtown and station very close, super-clean, friendly staff and cool garden/vine decor outside rooms. If you want to stay in Newtown, then this hotel will not disappoint.

Perfect for a Newtown Stay/ Sydney Getaway”

The Urban was great value- we were pleasantly surprised. Newtown is a groovy area and a nice alternative to staying in the CBD. We estimated 20 minutes from leaving the hotel to arriving into Town Hall train station. The light breakfast was a nice touch and staff were always helpful. Will be back in a few weeks.

The staff at The Urban were particularly friendly and helpful, especially Brian and Meg, who went out of their way to assist us and make us feel welcome. A complimentary selection of fresh pastries in reception each morning was a nice gesture, including a paper bag for travellers who wanted to take something with them if heading off for an early start to the day. The provision of a microwave is a helpful addition and the rooms were spotless, especially the clean, white bathrooms. The main reason we stayed at The Urban was because of its handy location to the Enmore Theatre, which allowed us to walk back to the hotel within a few minutes of the end of a concert. Thank you for a nice stay!

Convienient Location”

Busy Newtown is close to the City and Newtown itself has more than enough shopping, restaurants and pubs.. The Urban is in the right location to enjoy all this in easy walking distance.

Our stay was really awesome, the staff are lovely to deal with and helpful and the rooms have a great layout. We booked a king single room and were on the 1st floor although the room was small the bed was very comfortable and suited us well. The giant terrarium in the Center of the building is a great Center piece and focal point for the place. Urban jungle vibes

Great hotel located in the middle of vibrant newtown . I found Thai Pothong restaurant and gift shop, in tripadviser . It is really amazing in every way it is a must if you go to Newtown. it's the number 1 restaurant in Newtown . only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. So busy so best to book or go early.

This is a great hotel, in the heart of newtown njust a few mins walk from station so easy access to town. lots of restautants and shops to keep you busy. Small rooms but everything is theer that you need and its very clean and well kept. Friendly helpful staff a lovely stay - Thanks

This hotel got everything you need for a good stay in Sydnet. Clean, WiFi, AC, and convenient located around Newtown with good Cafes and restaurant. It's highly recommended! Parking around also free and it's very good. Excellent and will revisit to stay if in the future have opportunity!

Perfect Newtown spot”

I’ve stayed here many times with my wife. Funky little hotel... in the heart of Newtown. It doesn’t have a bar, gym, restaurant... but you don’t need them when Newtown has it all at your doorstep.

Very good”

Hip new industrial style hotel in the heart of Newtown, close to restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. Rooms are small, but well appointed and comfortable, and good value if you find a sale price. The extras like snacks and beverages in the foyer (before 5pm) were a welcome surprise. The only negative would be the sound-proofness of the rooms - other guests could be heard loud and clear outside the room door, and of course this is a night life area, so that noise was persistent throughout the night on the weekend as party-goers went home.

Great hotel experience. Clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. Awesome shower. Everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great central location to rail amd busses and plenty of foodie options very close by. Staff were wonderful and went above and beyond our expectations. Complimentary fruit amd pastries were a lovely bonus. Thankyou Urban for an A+ travel experience.
