Great value and friendly staff - good money saving option when need a place to stay in the area”

The staff here are really friendly and the double with a private bathroom was exceptional value which is great when my close friend and I are needing to stay in the area and need a bed for the night. Only recommendation would be a bath mat be provided in these rooms as the tiles are very shiny smooth and hard to avoid creating slippery surfaces, but otherwise a big thumbs up.

I barely used the facility. We can leave the luggage after check out but there is no control about it.... Even the staff don't see when a person come back to take the luggage (maybe a camera but ...).

Simple room but exceeds expectations, especially given price!”

Close friend and I booked last minute and stayed in a Private room for just over $70 for the night. Given this price we weren't expecting much, but the standard of the room exceeded our expectations. Simple and uncluttered . Very functional. Clean. Nice helpful and polite staff. Short drive down to the busy end of Glebe Point Road / Broadway Shopping Centre.

Roudy drunks and stoned hipsters!”

I chose this place as it said about a noise curfe at 10pm, however it's none existant. On my first night, there was loud music and drunks shouting outside my room, in the down stairs seating area... it was still going around 01:00 but I nodded off after. A fight broke out and bottles were being thrown and smashed just before. Woke up and could still people around 03:30 arguing. But it was a Saturday if that is any reason for acceptance. Lots of random people including delivery drivers, smoking weed with some or the people staying in the hostel, around the seating area by the entrance (this didn't bother me, but it might you). Kitchen was dirty and has never seen a spoon. My room however was nice, and clean and bed was comfy. Bathroom was nice and modern. Air con was free. The wifi was terrible, only worked in the main seating areas. Could not even get my own 4g or network in my room hardly. If it wasn't for the clean bed and bathroom, I would happily of swapped for a prison cell for 3 nights instead.

This hostel maybe just not for me”

I stayed at the hostel heaps of time in Australia, but this time maybe just not for me. - invisible staff - there is no sign to go to other new building (if people just come for the first time to this area or this country, it will be super confusing) and nobody to ask. - dirty room, lot of dust in the bed, smells not good at the room and also the aisle. - sink at the bathroom is leak - location is ok

Excellent, clean, lovely friendly atmosphere, quiet after 10pm”

This is a really lovely hostel. Located in Glebe, it's just a bus ride away from Sydney CBD. The hostel is very clean (dorm rooms are cleaned daily), warm, and comfortable. It has a very friendly, laid back atmosphere, and a nice communal space, making it easy to get to talk to others. The hostel also has a silence at 10PM policy, so if you like early nights this is a great hostel. Plus, free breakfast :-)

Best Quality / Price hostel in Sydney”

Good location with a 10 min walk distance from a big mall with everything you need. 300 mts from Glebe's library (Good free wifi). Bus stop right across the street. 300 mts from nice park with nice views. Wifi is not very good, like in any hostel in Sydney, but it is usable in the mornings and before 5pm. Cheaper rooms have bathrooms outdoors, not nice in winter. No chairs/benches in the kitchen area, so you have to eat outdoors, not nice in winter either. Staff is always helpful. They clean everyday, the whole place is pretty clean most of the time.

Nice Hostel ”

The mood was so nice to stay there. :) staff was so helpful and every traveller looks so happy with each other. :) Just one thing I want the staff arrange things more. When people check-in, it will be better to assign the bed num. I can’t find clean bed in my room. Someone already used or didn’t ready for the new traveller. But It was ok. I don’t mind.

Rudest staff ever”

The facilities are okay for the price you're paying. SUPER squeeky beds, toilests are smelly (probably because housekeeping just cleans them with a wet towel. yup, just water. watched them cleaning the ensuits), kitchen is a catastrophe, just dirty cutlery and cooking space way too small. Free breakfast included, but I rather pass than risking food poiseness - when milk starts tasting like soup something is going wrong I guess... Staff: Ridiculous. I've never experienced customer service like this. I work in customer service since many years, and if I would have treated one single person like this my CV would be way shorter. Guess at the Village Glebe it's quantity not quality. My friend printed three CVs with his last $0.60 to get a job, all of his CVs came out ruined as the printer was broken, and the receptionist still made him pay for that?! Had trouble once already with getting checked into the wrong room and the receptionist was telling me then it was my mistake because I understood the wrong room number (weird that I could still open the room I have just misunderstood...?) But the best thing just happened this morning, arriving after a long night shift back at the hostel at 8am after having a conversation the night before with the receptionist. It's fantastic getting a message from a friend while you are working at 12am, that you just got evicted. One of the many unprofessional staff members checked me into the wrong room (again :) )after changing rooms, without even checking the booking or payment, so I didn't think about it as I assumed I prepaid. Two days later I get kicked out as "I sneeked in, sneeked my friends in and was staying there illegal as I didn't pay". After talking to the night manager the night before I expected just getting checked in straight into the other room I was meant to be in, instead I got yelled at after asking if I could get my stuff out of the room for sneeking people since weeks into rooms. Nico (Hey, lovely!) could

I stayed here in a 6 people mixed room for 12 nights around Xmas & new year period. The staff were nice and offered me a new pillow when I arrived. The rooms are without air conditioning and a bit old. Breakfast are self served with bread & milk. After 10:00pm all common area were closed & we can't make noise which was a good policy. But toilets in general are not very clean. All hotels or hostels room prices are nearly doubled during Xmas & new year in Sydney & this was the main reason I stayed there.
