Review of The York By Swiss- Belhotel”

The York by Swiss-Belhotel is ideally located in central Sydney. Close to train and buses, walking distance to main attractions in Sydney , Darling Harbor , Circular Quay and major shopping areas. The one bedroom ex. apartments are spacious contain the latest appliances and are serviced everyday. The apartments are really well maintained.The staff are pleasant, extremely helpful and aim to please.

Suberb location, great facilities, excellent staff”

had a fab 11 days in sydney, staying in the york was ideal, wasn't restricted by hotel times of being down to breakfast by 9 etc, could feel relaxed in own apartment with all the facilities of home, always hot water to hand, excellent kitchen so could cook easily or eat out as surrounded by fab bars and restaurants. loads to do & see and could have easily stayed another month. so much to do including shopping, sight seeing, the blue mountains were great to see, def user a tour guide company like john at tours r us. just go & see everywhere, get a weekly travel ticket for the trains, ferries & buses & trash it - go to as many places you can on a ferry - it's fun and at nearly $10 a return trip a weekly ticket is great value. have chips on the beach at watsons bay, eat at bathers at balmoral, lunch at palm beach, take a picnic to taronga zoo, picnic at the botanical gardens & watch the harbour bridge climbers, take a bus from elizabeth street to coggee & walk to bondi along the coastal path & see the beach side sculptures - sydney is fab ! go and go again ....

Good location and clean rooms”

Was my first visit to Sydney and we wanted a place to stay that is easily accessible. Swiss Belhotel provided that with walking distance to the nearest Wynyard station. Service at the front desk was good and came it secured parking. Apartment was clean and serviced daily. Kitchen came equiped. I would definately stay here again in the next visit.

Great Apartments”

we stayed in a deluxe suite and were very impressed by the york. the agoda price is fantastic value for money for a room in central sydney. the location is great, within walking distance of all the major sights. the room was spacious, clean, modern and very well equipped with a full kitchen, living area and large balcony. could not have asked for any more at this price.

Great size rooms, good size kitchenette ”

Had a great stay,good size rooms, large bathroom with washer dryer. 5-10 minute walk to circular quay / darling harbour, plenty of restaurants etc close by. Was on the eleventh floor facing York Street traffic could hear the traffic but you would get that at any major city on a main road. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to train station, walking distance to Sydney tower, Qv building. Would definitely recommend hotel

Excellent”

Had a great stay, good location. Enjoyed pool and spa area. A little dated but not too bad and this is made up for by how clean and comfortable it is. Unfortunately our stay was left with a negative outcome when we were charged $150 at check out for 3 nights of parking. I was advised that it was on the paperwork I signed at Yes I made the age old error of not reading the page full of fine print but I have never ever stayed anywhere and been charged such an astronomical amount for parking. Next time, I will hold up the front desk and take the time toread the fine print but I do feel such a thing should have been verbalized to me when I asked if they had parking available. I feel that the check in staff did not serve me well by not verbalizing this and when I expressed this at check out I was advised that anywhere you stay in Sydney CBD you will be charged for parking. You shouldn't assume your travellers are local are local and understand Sydney. Therefore, I don't feel it warrants my b

Excellant ”

We just spent our 3rd stay at The York in Sydney, and as usual it was excellent. The staff was exceptionally helpful & friendly. We arrived much earlier than planned, and they were able to get us into our room immediately. The location is superb as it is within walking distance to almost everything. The room is always top notch, and the big plus is having a balcony to enjoy the view. Will always choose The York.

Conveniently Located near The Rocks, Sydney”

The York by Swiss-Belhotel is conveniently located near major sites in Sydney such as The Rocks, Sydney Harbour, Circular Qual, Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House. The rooms vary in the quality of interior design. Our standard studio apartment was very tastefully fitted out but our adult son's and daughters' room was dated in design and furnishing. The lobby is small and dated in appearance.

The York by Swiss-Belhotel is located in a great spot, close to metro transport and less than 1km walk to Circular Quay and The Rocks. The hotel itself is a little tired but the rooms are a spacious and comfortable. The place was clean and hotel staff friendly and helpful.

Service with a smile and goes the extra mile!”

We stayed 3 nights in York hotel in Sydney Central. Location is very good as its 15 mins walk to Darling Harbour, and 20 mins walk to Chinatown. The Rocks and Circular Quay is also within walking distance. There are supermarkets nearby, and few asian eateries that's perfect for us (the food's not fantastic but will do) The hotel prepared a baby cot for our little one and it comes with a cot mattress so comfortable that she slept really well. Overall, the apartment is clean and furniture is well furbish and stylish. We took the Deluxe one-bedroom so maybe its already the renovated part of the hotel. The front desk staff is friendly and was a great help to my husband as he had to do the check-in alone with 5 pieces of luggages and a baby. They even help to book our airport shuttle with us, although we missed it, they were kind enough to re-arrange it again. Its really service with an extra mile! All in all, we had a great experience staying with them, and will recommend it for all traveller with young children.

Be careful of your minibar...”

The hotel, The York by Swiss-Belhotel, has a great location, very close to several attractions. The facilities are okay and clean. HOWEVER, if your room has minibar, please do check with the front desk after you check-in and before you check-out. I didn't use any food/drink/candies in the minibar, but they insist to charge me AUD39.78. It's very difficult for customers from home country to call them to complain about this. Thus, I strongly suggest you that when you stay with them next time, please do check what in the minibar after you check-in and what in the minibar before you check-out. Please do ask front desk staff to go with you to the room because they might be more reliable than other staffs.

well accomidated in Sidney”

Upon arrival, we were very warm welcomed from all FO and Bell service Staff, the check in procedure was very quick and professional. House keeping was every day very attentive and friendly. During our stay at the York,our requests or questions about touring the City, was excellent answered and suggested from Front Office staff, including distances, directions and how to go to places, like walking distance, Taxi or Bus. Any time of the day, when we come back to the York or we went out, the staff always greet us by name and ask if everything is fine. For me and my wife was it the first stay in Sidney,and we can confirm that we would not know the City and his attractions so fast without the guidance and help from York Staff. I am a General Manager of a five Star Hotel in Jakarta and know Hotel / Apartment operation very well, but me and my wife are very impressed what kind of overall service we received. If we can one day return to Sidney, for us out of question that we would choose the york again, not only for the very professional staff, even also for the excellent location.

this great hotel is located only 2 blocks from busy shopping street george street. and the train/subway station also near by. easy access to all of sydney center area / cbd.

Ideal Sydney apartment hotel ”

Great stay at The York with family of 6 in 3br apartment. City views are okay but location is excellent. Walk to CBD, Barangaroo or the Rocks... just near Wynyard if you need the train. Restaurants in each direction. Room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed for byo breakfast, pre dinner drinks, lounging after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. Nice Ramen noodle house downstairs. We would definitely recommend and stay again

Great hotel in perfect position”

We stayed at the York Hotel in a studio apartment for one night recently, before being joined by friends and moving to a larger suite. We were very happy with all aspects of the hotel and would certainly recommend it. The hotel is only a block from the train from the airport and once there you are within walking distance of the city, The Rocks and the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms and facilities very good.

Great Location”

The York is located in a great location in Sydney’s CBD offer is access on foot to all of the main areas of Sydney including both Darling Harbour, the Rocks and Circular Quay. The 1 bedroom room itself had a new Kitchen but the rest of the apartment felt a little dated but nonetheless we enjoyed our stay

The York by Swiss-Bel Hotel.... Definatley well worth the stay, our room was on the 10th floor!! Room was absolutley gorgeous!! And the view from the balcony was also gorgeous. Friendly staff and very well secured!! Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!!

Good location and spacious”

The hotel is centrally located and close to Circular quay, the Rocks , the Opera House and Wynyard train station. Our room has two bedrooms, kitchen, a large front room , two bathrooms, a study and a laundry room. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there. If you come to Sydney in a group, I would strongly recommend it.

Great value for reasonable money”

My wife and I have spent 5 nights here and the facilities was beyond our expectation. You can access almost everything like you are in your own home: fully furnished kitchen, bathroom with washing machine and dryer, balcony with a great view to Wynyard Park. Only one thing to remind for traveler first time to Sydney: The checkin and checkout time here is 10:30am and 13:30pm accordingly.

Great location hotel”

This apart hotel was ideally situated to see all the major Sydney sites. Our two bed apartment was huge but dated, if updated if would be fantastic. Check in was efficient and friendly but as we were too early we had to go back later to collect our key, at that point it was chaotic. If you stay here, ask for a room at the back of the hotel as we were on the front and it was very noisy.
