Above and beyond the call of duty!”
We absolutely loved our stay at Thip Residence Boutique Hotel. The location wasn't very close to Krabi, but there was much to do in nearby Ao Nang, and there is public transport immediately outside the front door, so don't let the location scare you off too much. The nearby roadside restaurant (where only the Thais eat) was amazing and cheap, with very friendly service. Nothing was too much for the management/staff of this hotel. We did a highly recommended cooking course with Ya, a fantastic Thai chef who has even taught Gordon Ramsey a thing or two. We booked the course through the hotel (Ya's team picked us up and dropped us back at the hotel) and what followed was a three hour trek into the secrets of Thai cooking. Through a fluke, we were lucky to have her all to ourselves, as she usually has 10 - 15 people per class. This was really affordable and very highly recommended, and we left with scads of food that the hotel allowed us to reheat later and serve to the rest of the family. That in itself was extremely kind, as they served it to us on their restaurant plates, etc. As we were inspired by all we learnt, the wonderful owner kindly offered to take us in her car to a local kitchenware store to buy certain kitchen utensils for Thai cooking. And she waited patiently while we lingered and ooohed and aaaahed over things. Had a massage (300 THB for an hour) in their "relaxarium" which was PERFECT. Could hear the birdsong and splish splash of the pool. Also had a manicure done (250 THB), which was nice, but a bit rushed as we were leaving soon, so I mussed it up after putting shoes on. Would recommend leaving lots more time for your nails to dry! We stayed two nights at Thip and found it an excellent spot for recharging in the middle of our Thai travels. Would recommend this hotel for couples and families with older children.

Beautiful place, great staff!”
Our stay at the Thip Residence Boutique Hotel was great! The hotel is about a 5 minute drive from Ao Nang but getting there is extremely easy both day and night. We were charged 40 baht for two people to go to Ao Nang and 30 baht each after 6PM through local transport. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They took our laundry, they helped us book tours, made sure we were where we needed to be and that we were picked up on time. They answered questions about the area, changed the lock on the door when it was broke and showed sincere concern for our valuables. Tours were actually cheaper through the hotel than in pamphlets or the internet. We rented a scooter from the hotel as well which was great fun! The pool is amazing and clean. There are not a lot of chairs but enough on most days we were out. It's quiet (except for that one family that had a late check in), good location for those wanting to get away from the loud nightlife of Ao Nang. The pier to get to other islands is very close and was where we met other groups going on tours. I wouldn't swim at the beaches close to the hotel but Ao Nang is only 5 minutes away by car/scooter and Railay is only 15 minutes by long tail boat from either the hotel pier or Ao Nang pier. I would certainly stay here again. Get the breakfast included (does not disappoint and we were full each morning). Get a room facing the garden/pool if you can. We stayed in 215 which was close to the stairwell and was a bit noisy a few times but nothing major. There are massages available at the hotel as well although a bit more expensive than in Ao Nang, you do not have to travel to get there and once finished, can go back to your room.

Excellence, comfortable beds, Secure carpark”
Our stay in Thip Residence Boutique Hotel was excellence. From the google map it seem to be nothing much to do during the day and night but don't let the location scare you off too much. Actually hotel is about a 5 minute drive to Ao Nang, public transport can accessible and are charge very reasonably 20-30bath per person. Tours booking were actually cheaper through this hotel rather than in Ao Nang, pamphlets or the internet booking. We had books our tour itinerary through this hotel and our family really enjoy it. Convenience location like Ao nammao Pier, Railay Beach, restaurant, mini mart can be accessible to it. We like the Thai food here, especially my kid like the massaman curry chicken at the restaurant own by the hotel. Try the massaman curry chicken if you had happened to be there. Strongly recommend for those who drive a personal car, secure and ample space to park your car. The only shortfall of the hotel has no lift access but the staffs are very helpful to assist you to carry your luggage up the flight. Welcome drink also provided during check-in. I would like to thank the lady owner of this hotel that provided extreme care for me during my stay when I was accidentally injured by Sea urchin. She had provided me all the necessary aid to reduce my pain and wound from infection. Gladly, I be able to drive back home (Singapore) safely. Will be back again soon…..Thank you Strongly recommend people to stay in this excellence hotel with Great staff and Owner.

Great place ”
The Thip residence is a fairly new hotel and very nice and clean. The little local buses run from there to the next busy beach. From the pier - 100m from the hotel you can get the local boat to Railey beach and 1 km the other way to can go to Fossil beach. Au Namau is 4 km away and 20 Baht (10mins) by bus. Krabi town which is a MUST SEE, especially the night market, 40 mins (50 Baht). The place is very clean I had a very large air-cconditioned room with Patio doors to the balcony, overlooking the sea. Although I had booked the cheapest room and was here in the low season, (October) I received a complimentary upgrade to a seaview room. There is a local beach which is not used by swimmers, mainly by fishermen. The Tropical beach resort is just across the road, and I am not sure if their guests use their bit of private beach, but I generally preferred to go to Au Nang on the bus and be with other people on the chairs provided by the massage people free of charge. The staff at the Thip Hotel is incredbly friendly and helpful. This is a fairly new hotel. They are planning to put in a swimming pool next year, which will compensate for the beach front. Breakfast is freshly cooked, but a small choice of either eggs or eggs with sausage, beacon or toast etc. When I did not look too enthusiastic they were happy to make fresh tropical fruit salad with musli and yoghurt which I was very happy with, plus they provided freshly sqeezed juice. The evening meals in the Jasmin Restaurant were generally good, especially the various Thai soups. The roast chicken with glutonous rice was the only bad meal I had. The salad, although I like spicey food was too chilly hot and the chicken too bland and not quite cooked through. There are other eating places close by.

Everything was perfect!”
Everything was perfect at Thip Residence Boutique Hotel. A little out of the way but just a few bahts from it all. An excellent place to stay for your vacation in Krabi, with easy access to all the different trips to visit the islands in that section of Thailand. Excellent: the room (with a balcony with sea view), the service, the food, the pool. I definitetly recommand this place for Krabi and its surroundings!

Top hotel, fantastic rooms and staff.”
we payed for a room at novotel in hat yai, the night before we arrived at thip residence, and i can honestly say that thip was a much better hotel at a 1/3 of the price. the location is a 15 minute ride in a songathow to ao nang, leaving from outside thip residence every 15 minutes. mopeds can be rented for 200b for exploring. the restaurant serves great food which is half the price of food in ao nang. top hotel, top staff nice quiet location.

Great Boutique Hotel with Charming Features”
The Thip is off the main strip of the more populated and tourist area of Ao Nang. It is a good 10 minute local bus ride from Ao Nang, which we were actually quite pleased with. During busy season, Ao Nang gets many tourists, but our hotel was situated out of town and more among local people living. What a fantastic smaller hotel, with spacious lobby, excellent restaurant, and wonderful pool and garden areas. Hard beds, but that has been our experience in Thailand in general. Staff very kind and supportive, and the owner very professional. A great pool with jacuzzi jets in a small portion. Jacuzzi not like western jacuzzi's, as it is a part of the pool at same pool temperature. Rooms have a balcony, and street side is ok view. Ao Na Mao Pier is walking distance, and terrific fun to take a longtail boat from there to Railay Beach (Phranang the best!) for day trips. Stunning limestone mountain ranges and picturesque waters at Railay/Phranang....a must see! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great for families as is a quieter and smaller location!

Perfect hotel, very clean, well maintained”
Thip was amazing, I searched for months for a hotel in krabi and found thip was a good price and had amazing reviews. I can now add to the positivity by saying thip was perfect for us, wonderfully quiet, very clean, staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was great too. I would recommend getting the delux room with a garden view as there isn't really a sea view and the garden is beautiful. We hired motorbikes/scooters from the Thip ( they have about 7/8 to hire) for a few days and was about a 5 minute ride to aonang. We also had massages by the pool which were great- if undecided on where to stay I would recommend this hotel- however if you want to be walking distance to aonang then rather stay closer. Personally I preferred the quiet.

Would stay again if were were in the area”
we wanted a place for our first couple of days in krabi before we decided where we'd head for diving and other activities so went with the thip residence as it was cheap and well-reviewed. it ended up being better in most ways than the much more expensive ko lanta resort that we went to afterwards. the location was less pretty, but it was nearer to what felt like proper thai places (schools, restaurants, food stalls etc.) and the room was just as clean, and better featured. the staff were incredibly helpful, too, and we really enjoyed our time here. had it not been for the seemingly better diving options from ko lanta (dive and relax were great) we would have been just as happy staying on here. the only real downside was the breakfast, which was the standard western fare. we'd have preferred to have something more local. we'd stay again though - highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Thip Top”
Thip Family Residence Boutique Hotel was wonderful in every way. Sercice was efficient and friendly. Finishes, design and appearance of the lobby, stairwells, around the pool and yard, front entry with Koi pond and loca tropical vegetation, and room ammenities and comfort all were wonderful. Service and food in the outstanding restaurant were delicious with always fresh ingredients and impecable service. The pool and surrounding yard were beautiful and enjoyable at the end of a hot and tiring day. Can't speak highly enough about this experience...a terrific value!

I really enjoyed my stay at Thip Residence. The staff were excellent in every way. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would like to return some day. The pool and garden have a very zen feel to them and getting a thai massage underneath a bamboo canopy beside the pool is something to remember

A1 Experience”
This "Boutique" "Bed & Breakfast" in Sai Thai is about 5+ km from the beach in Ao Nang. Horray, just what I wanted...a little reprieve from all of the phony hullabaloo and touris wangle...None of it here, just good old friendly, efficient and deliscious service. The pool was great at the end of the day upon returning home...the only thing is that it wasn't much cooler, if any, that the schorching daily temperatures. All staff was very friendly and very helpful. Waitress in the restaurant, a really hard worker at 12 hr days, was terrific. Ju, the owner, was very responsive when I brought to her attentin a leak in the "bidet" hose line. Fixed immediately. Finishes in the room and about the Hotel were deisgn perfect and visually compelling. All around a great vaue. I would return here any day!

My children, husband and i had a great time in Thip Residence. People are friendly and its location is strategically centred around places we should visit like the aquarium (thanks for the advice by the owner the children enjoyed themselves).

Nice hotel not best location”
Stayed here 3 nights in January, once arriving by boat to the Ao Nang, Krabi we realised it was quite far out from the main stretch, however we did read this from reviews already so weren't completely surprised. Hotel was fine, nice room with a nice view on balcony of the sea. There is very little in the area of the hotel, I would recommend renting a moped if you want to explore a bit more, we would catch the bus which is 5 minutes walk up the road and go to Ao Nang for dinner for 40 baht which was great! Last bus is at 7pm though, so a tuk tuk back is more pricey at 200 baht. We spent all our time over at Railey, the long-tail boat can be taken literally over the road from hotel at Ao Nammao pier which was great, you can catch one at anytime, Railey was so beautiful! Best beaches we've seen and the water was great to explore on kayak or snorkelling, lots of cheeky monkeys there too which you can feed bananas too! In Hindsight we wished we had stayed on Railey as that is where we spent all our time! Not as many restaurants and bars as Ao Nang but thats not what we were looking for. Lots more to do in the area but we ran out of time!

Thip Residence”
A small hotel about 6 km away from ao nang beach. The hotel has a pool inside the compound which is kept clean also. There are no service at the pool so you have to get everything from inside. You can also bring anything you like to the pool so it can also be cheap. Hotel services are also cheap (food, drinks, trips etc). Hotel staff is nice and most polite. Some issues when speaking english but you will encounter that everywhere you go. I recommend to rent a motorbike so travelling will be easy. There is also a bus going to ao nang -> nopparat -> krabi town. The bus is cheap (20 - 60 bath) depending where you go. Taxi is also available instantly. Near by there is a pier that you can get into many places. Some local food shops and food shacks. There is a beach of sorts 70 meter from the hotel. a quiet beach gotta say. Traveling east at the beach you will encounter dawn of happiness huts / bungalows. Overall a cheap and joyable experience. Thou we found a discount to the hotel so...

A charming and friendly small hotel”
The hotel was easy to find and is well located. The hotel has a pool and restaurant and has plenty of tour information and local trip suggestions. Our room could have been cleaner on our arrival but that was sorted out quickly. The area is very quiet and completely different to the bustling Ao Nang Beach area of Krabi. This hotel is ideal for those travelers with their own transport who wish to use it as a staging point.

Very nice hotel!”
Really liked the hotel...the staff were very friendly, polite & helpful. We had a deluxe room with seaview - the bed was amazingly comfortable! very clean & big room with nice balcony (although shame the hotel was not directly looking out onto the sea/beach...rather than across the road. Very convenient to get to Railay Beach as the longtail boats go every 15 mins or so - only 60B to Railay, 20 minute boat ride. (this is one of the main reasons we chose to stay here) The inclusive breakfast was well cooked & also the swimming pool facilities were very nice & quiet. All in one - very nice hotel. Only thing I would mention is that you need to have to rent a car/motorbike. We rented a bike for the 3 days so was really nice just driving around into Ao Nang, etc. If you dont have your own transport, you will feel quite cut off as there is nothing going on in the evenings.

Quiet hotel with a nice staff and pool”
We saw this hotel had great reviews, so we used it as a stop before we went on to Koh Lanta. One of the staff picked us up from the airport, and they all met us with a smile. Its surroundings is not packed with tourists, so it got an authentic thai feel to it. Not much to do, but some nice cheap places to eat just around the corner. The pier and taxis are also close, so you can get to Ao Nang or Railay pretty easily, which both are nice places to check out. For its price, we could easily recommend staying here for a few days. Our only "complaint", is that we wished the pool was open at night, because the backyard has a nice ambience in the evening.
